They only reason they are getting 2 stars and not 1 is because the staff was super polite and nice and they TRIED to fix what they messed up. However the shape of my nails is all messed up. Went to this place because of the good reviews however real disappointment! One lady started my nails took off the polish and left so her colleague continued my manicure. She was about to put powder on my nails instead of gel that I asked for. I asked her for a gel she didn't know how to do it and first person got back to me and continued with gel. In any case they do not know how to properly do it. Normally after color applied one coat of gel goes on top and dry under UV light. this layer goes on top to secure the color. They did not do it. 15 mins after I left salon I started getting little bubbles on 5 of my nails! It took forever to get it done 1 hour 40 mins. Looks bad I am attaching the picture. I called to make an appointment for an acrylic fill in, only to realize mid-manicure that they don't have acrylic... and the tech literally painted all of my nails with NAIL GLUE before applying another layer of gel and dip powder over my existing acrylic. I usually stick to just a mani, but occasionally I splurge for the mani-pedi-massage deal for $45. Those ten-minute massages are glorious. They have recently moved into a new building (across the street), and although it's a tad smaller, it's much newer looking. It's a lovely space. I also work during the day, so I needed to get in to get my nails done early in the morning. I showed up at 8:20am (they typically open at 8:30) with no appointment. The owner had a 9am appointment, but let me in early and was able to get my nails done before the scheduled appointment at 9am. The nails were done extremely well (got a French manicure), AND she gave me a card for 1 free manicure for every 10 nail services I get! However, as days went by the gel polish has chipped off drastically and the fake tips have these weird light cracks inside. Since my nails are clear and now pretty much have no polish on them, I could now see that. I think they're better with natural nails not putting on tips and dip powder in the nails. I work pretty close to here (2 blocks up) and was going away for one vacation Sunday (19th of November) and wanted to do my nails. I searched around for nearby nail salons before deciding on this one. I went after work on the Friday (the 17th) but only had time for a pedicure. I got that done and it was wonderfully done, loved the lady who did them, the way she did them, the color, etc. So based off of that and how others who received manicures nails' looked, I decided to come back the next day on Saturday (the 18th) for a manicure. I come back the next day for a 2:00 PM appointment, waited about 15 minutes while choosing a color, got seated, waited another half hour maybe 45 minutes for them to start my nails. There were some interruptions while doing my nails which was another maybe 15 minutes off my nail process. Then there was a miscommunication about what I wanted and I was told what I wanted (gel tips) was going to take at least an additional hour. Throughout all of this I had no issue only because I wasn't really in a huge rush and it was for my birthday coming up and I wanted them to take their time and do it correctly, so I let it slide. I WAS TOLD THE GEL MANICURE WOULD LAST 2 WEEKS (keep this in mind) My nails came out nicely done and I was satisfied. Long story short, THEY DID NOT LAST TWO WEEKS. THE VERY NEXT DAY, Sunday the 19th, one of my nails cracked in half while simply getting in the car. The Wednesday, one nail came completely off while standing in line ordering food. The Friday, not one but TWO popped off. And the rest just look like I've had my nails on for weeks and I'm due for a fill in. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in my nails, especially because I got them done for my birthday and for spending $100 for them. I wish I could post the video I took of my nails because you'd really see how bad they looked after not even a full week of wear. read more

It's not that fake uncomfortable niceness either; this feels genuine, which I really like. The $22 pedi was not too shabby. The owner helped me pick out a color, and helped me set my stuff down. Two little gripes: 1. the tools they used didn't look all that clean. I didn't get an infection or anything, but I was a little weary. 2. They use fans to dry your toes and it was DAMN COLD!! Went during my lunch break and got seated right away. I only got a manicure which was $10 and took about half an hour to do. They have a very limited supply of Essie and OPI nail colors and most are old colors, definitely nothing in season. The saloon overall is a little outdated, definitely not luxurious. There is an even amount of Asian and Hispanic nail professionals there, everyone seemed friendly enough. While everyone was pleasant the lack of nail colors available and the ambiance prevents me from giving them a higher rating. I go here for waxing and pedicures. It's a clean, mother & daughter small business. I get nice pedis here. But the reason I come here is for the bikini wax. I don't like to hop for that. After all, no one wants to lay on a table with legs wide spread for a Brazilian(wax, not man), with yet another stranger. TMI, I know. Tomina is the fastest, most efficient waxer I've ever seen. She's really good, does a perfect straight line and there is something about her demeanor that makes you relax and not mind so much that you are laying there, bare, while she's defluffing the...well. For the $10 manicure price range, this is the best service you'll ever get! I get the $40 mini package which includes a basic mani pedi plus a 10 minute massage. My technician was a total sweet heart and made sure I liked the polish job she did. She also asked me if I wanted my cuticles pushed or cut. The massage was great! She went under the shirt though which was unexpected, but I got over that quickly. The best part is that once everything is done, they don't just abandon you at the dryer. My technician came back to put fast drying serum on my nails and back again to put plastic slipcovers over my toes and help me into my shoes. read more

I am generally not a girly girl but I enjoy a mani/pedi once every few months. On a particularly snowy day I had the urge to be pampered and when I convinced a friend to join me, the deal was done. We went after work on a Friday which to me is the perfect time to unwind. We did the $40 deals and chose the leg massages over the back massages. I have a boyfriend for the back massages! Ha. The manicure and pedicure were so leisurely and relaxing that I somehow lost 1.5 hours of time without noticing. My toes were bright pink and so pretty and my nails were light pink so that when they chip it won't annoy me. it bothered me a little that we were seated far apart from each other for the manicures even though we had been talking throughout our pedicures and clearly were friends. But the price tag, the sweet staff and my pretty nails more than made up for that. I hope to make this a once per month treat! read more

This used to be my go-to inexpensive salon in the Tribeca area for their manicure-pedicure-massage special. The last time I came in here, an elderly aesthetician absolutely ruined my nails - so badly that I had to *leave the salon after she had finished 'shaping' the nails on just one hand*. My nails were already quite short, so I requested that this lady *not* cut or file them any shorter. I requested that they stay in the round shape that they were. She nodded in agreement, and then grabbed my hand and immediately filed the nails on my right hand down to the quick, squared off on crooked angles! It looked so awful that I wanted to cry. I snatched both hands away from her and the lady who runs the salon came over. No apology was offered, and the lady who had butchered my nails kept insisting that 'they were better' even though I was so clearly upset at what she had just done.
