My go to nail salon. Cindy and tracy are my favorites but honestly everyone here does a good job. They are friendly and good customer service. Good to make appointments but they do take walk in's, you might have to wait a couple of mins. Remember to take cash with you for tips, if not they do have an ATM machine inside. I write this review in shock of how my last 2 visits have gone. 2 weeks ago I went to VIP Nail Salon for a Dip Powder Manicure for my birthday weekend. The lady was unable to do what I requested so we settled for something else. Before fully allowing my nails to dry, she brushes them leaving a bunch of lint on my nail in which I noticed once I had already left. With the mindset of, people make mistakes, I went back today and again, had a bad experience. I got a gel Manicure with the wax option (extra cost) and a Dip powder manicure. My one toe has sways in it, my finger near the cuticle was filed down too much which resulted in bleeding and soreness, all of my fingernails are different lengths and uneven thickness, and there are bubbles in my fingernails. This service was no where near worth the $135 I spent there today! Loved this place when my tech Tracy worked there since she left I have had nothing but issues. read more

Honestly, the only good thing from this visit was the quick service... (1 hour and 5 minutes exactly), but it just goes to show that quality TAKES TIME. I have never in my life stayed seated at the manicure table to have my gel polish soaked off of my toes. I also have never had someone get the residue of the soaking (mixture of acetone and old color) on my flip flops. This was a rough experience, not just physically but just the entire process in general. If I don't have an infection within the next few days, I will be surprised because the tools and roughness of the service was awful (and I have a high pain tolerance). I'm also not pleased with having gel polish up my legs and fingers after they've been painted. The polish doesn't even go to the bed of my nail, and then on others the polish is over my skin. I was told to turn off the massage chair, because there was to much movement in order for him to be able to paint my toes nicely. Then to top it all off, the lotion at the end was half ass and the price went up. Per usual, nail technicians try to sell everything.. I was offered dip and brows which I politely declined. As I go to pay, I was told it was $60. Then I asked if I could leave a tip on my card, he shook his head and pointed to the atm machine. I said I have cash. Next thing you know, he told me it costs $65 and I still gave him a $5 tip (EXTREMELY LOW COMING FROM ME) but I know people have struggled through COVID. ANYWAYS - go online and the total should have been $58 for everything. I hope his total $12 tip helps his family in someway because it was not deserved. read more

For me going to a new nail salon it's kinda like going to a new barber, I hope for the best but never know quite what I'm gonna get. Very happy with my results. Since this was my first time here I went with the first available technician, who happened to be Cindy. Very pleasant and I was very satisfied with get work. I got the classic (basic) manicure and upgraded to the Spa Rituals pedicure. Everything was reasonably priced. My total came to $55.00 before tip. They also offer waxing and lash extensions. If you're very particular about your nails, I do not recommend this salon. The gentleman who did mine did an okay job but took exceptionally long due to the fact that I told him to re-do my nails because I did not like that the dip powder was not sticking to side of my fingernail. That shouldn't have been a problem in the first place! He proceeded to moving forward with the service as if it were not a big deal. I've been doing dip for over 4 years and I've never had the nail technician do my nails so poorly that the dip powder would not stay on my nails. When I asked him if he could fix them, he told me to let him do his job and that I needed to relax. Also, the outside of my fingernail tends to be rough and dry skin. The gentleman used the nail machine super rough on my actual skin around my nail to the point where I started to bleed a little bit. It was painful. The only reason I gave this salon 2 stars was because he gave me a $5 discount for the service and because he re-did my nails after I told him I did not like them twice. The police was called on me. I'm still shocked at the experience that I had for no reason. If I could give 0 stars I would, the Older man is completely rude and unprofessional ! We were a group of 4 two adults and two children. We all had appointments for toes and nails they started our appointment 20 minutes late and after getting pedicures we sat into the chair for nails. I showed the older man a picture of the nails that I wanted and asked if he knew the colors by heart he said no. I said "I think she has the colors I want pointing to my sister. The man gets up and says I'm going to help someone else, I have no time! And walks away from me and talks to other guest. I was completely shocked I had only been sitting in the chair for maybe 2 minutes. I said mister that was very rude! he replies YOU WANT YOUR NAILS DONE, SITDOWN AND PICK A COLOR THEN. I said absolutely not, you are not getting anymore of my money. unfortunately my daughter and sisters nails had already been started, so I had to wait for them. 10 minutes later the police walks in. I explained what happened and the Old guy goes "she said she wasn't giving me her money." Of course I'm not paying for anything else he was completely rude, I told the officer my daughter was still sitting there finishing her nails As well as my family , clearly we are going to pay for services that we received only. The police agreed he told the guy clearly she has every intent to pay for what she received is there anything else? The guy was just looking dumb. VIP nails. Such a misleading name. I called ahead to book a full set and pedicure. I looked on their yelp page and saw that they were able to do wat I wanted. When I spoke to the woman on the phone she verified that EVERYBODY in the shop could do it. That turned out to be a lie. When I arrived I waited about 5 minutes to start my pedicure. All was fine and pedicure went smoothly. I will say i got the basic $30 pedicure, and it was just that, basic. He did not sand the bottom of my feet well at all. Like I said it was super basic. But he did do a good job with the shaping of my toe nails. Now on to the nails. Before he began I verified a second time he could do wat I wanted and he said yes. Boy oh boy was I taken a back by wat he did. The mails themselves were super uneven, thick in some places and thin in others. The polish job was uneven as well. He didn't paint the whole nail, he missed the sides. Then to top it off the polish was bumpy, like it has dirt in it or something. I let him know then that i did not like it. He offers to redo it but I had to decline due to me being on time constraints. I did end up calling back and spoke with the manage who said I could come back and get it fixed. Ok cool. I got back the next day and they didn't seem to happy that I was there. I got a lady who didn't talk to me at all but dropped the drill and nicked my hand. She didn't say much and continued. Now they look better but not for $80. Reconsider this shop. Listen just take my advice and look elsewhere. SN- I forgot to take pics of the first set but I did of the redone set. read more

I had a scheduled appt for a lash fill with Tina at 9:00 am. My first appt 2 weeks prior with her was satisfactory. She had me save her number to set up my next appt. Upon my arrival she was not there. I sent her a message to let her know I was there and she called me back to tell me she was having car troubles and asked if I could give her 15-30 min, which I agreed to because I needed the fill done. After our call she sent me a picture of a breathalyzer (I'm assuming she sent the picture to me on accident) so I asked the employee there about the picture and he said she has to do that to drive but she is being picked up because of her car troubles. At 9:30 she had still not arrived so I talked to the employee again, he called her and I was told again if I could give her until 10 she would be there. At this point I'm feeling nervous of the possibility that she could potentially be under the influence and at 10:00 she had still not arrived. I texted her to let her know I was leaving and again she called to say she would be there in 5 minutes and asked me to wait again. I gave her until 10:10 and left because she still had not arrived and I knew I absolutely could not wait any longer due to my day being time sensitive. I'm appalled by this situation, she has my number and knew we had a 9:00 appt. She should have let me know in advance that she was having "car troubles" so that I could make a decision early enough to not be running late for my other priorities today. I will not be returning to this establishment. Waiting an hour plus after the scheduled appt time after being told several times she would be there soon is unacceptable, as well as having to be concerned that your eyelash tech may be under the influence while working on your eyelashes. read more

I stopped in to this nail salon following my appointment at Ideal Image. I'm relatively new to the Maryland area, and I live in Frederick. However, I needed a pedicure and I wanted to treat myself, and this place looked like the perfect place. I'm so glad that I did. I was greeted upon entering, asked what service I'd like to have completed, and instructed to sign in. Once I picked my color, I proceeded to the massage chair to have the "Classic Pedicure" completed. The gentleman who was completing my pedicure, Kevin, asked if I'd like to add the callus treatment for $5 extra, and I responded, "yes". I will say, in the past when I've gone to other nail salons, the callus treatment is not a separate, or an added service, but is apart of the standard pedicure treatment. However, each salon is different, but I found that to be interesting. I wish I lived nearby because, I'd come here every two weeks, but for now it'll be my special place to treat myself when I come to have my Ideal Image Treatments. Please DO NOT let Tony do your nails, honestly just pick another salon. I thought I would try a new salon, BAD IDEA. I called to set an appointment for a pedicure and a full set. While making the appointment I checked to make sure someone would be available to do a nude to white ombre on my nails. Tony rushed through painting my toes leaving pieces of cotton in my polish and completely missing parts of my nails. I politely asked him to remove the cotton and fix the polish and he kept acting like he didn't see what I was talking about. Then when it came time to do my nails he started talking to two other people that seemed to be waiting on him to leave. He tried to do the ombre I showed him and when I asked him to try to make it look like the picture he just kept wiping it off and doing the it same way that wasn't working. It was lumpy and uneven and looked nothing like the picture. I could understand if it didn't look exactly like the picture that would be an unreasonable expectation but it looked so awful and he kept saying oh it's fine it looks the same. Nothing irritates me more than when someone tries to convince you something looks fine just because they don't want to take the time to do something right or admit they don't know how before wasting your time. He finally gave up and told me to come back tomorrow so Tina could do it and gave no apology for the inconvenience as he gave as little effort as possible to clean my nails up and remove the tips he applied. My nails looked worse when I left then they did when I arrived. I paid for my crappy pedicure and left and he never even said I'm sorry or showed an ounce of concern. Checking his phone constantly and leaving pieces of dried gel powder and tips on my fingers he walked over to the register unbothered. Why go here when there are so many nail salons in this area. I drove down the street and got a perfect ombre full set without the attitude and complete disregard for cleanliness. Let me just add that when I pulled up he was smoking and wreaked of smoke as he coughed and did my pedicure. Pedicures... I don't frequently get them, but about once every 2-3 months I decide it's about time my feet get a good scrub. Relax for about 30 minute to an hour and get pampered. At this specific nail salon, my wife and I walked in and waited for about 15 minutes before we had to ask someone to help us. A nice lady told us that she had set up the last two pedicure chairs for us. 'Dip your feet in the water' we were told. This is typically done for a maximum of 5 minutes before the nail specialist comes to start working on your legs... 5, 10, 15 minutes went by with my feet in Luke warm water getting colder by the minute. Finally! Someone is here to get started! But wait - about 5 minutes in, she stops. Pulls out her Samsung Galaxy cell phone, does a look around to make sure no one else has noticed... And starts texting someone !!! Yes all while sitting on a stool in front of me- and then gets up and walks away without any notice or apologies. Comes back about 8 minutes later, to finish clipping my nails and give my feet a light rub with some Pina colada lotion. Only reason they are getting 2 stars is because of their cleanliness of their salon. I'm not coming back! read more

This salon is very clean, and they offer a variety of services. The staff is generally friendly, and they have a lot of different colors. That being said this is not the place you come if you want your nails styled. I mean if you want any shape that deviates from square and any special design this may not be your place. While I have had some luck with select techs getting an almond or coffin shape right, you have to hope they're there and not busy. There never seems to be more than one person available for these nail shaping services as part of a fill or fill set in my experience. The salon has a very cool wall with running water and is very clean and relaxing. I was very impress when one I called them one morning & the nail tech I wanted an appointment with was booked for the time I wanted. She asked me to stop by once I got off work. Received a bikini wax and decided to opt for a eyebrow wax while I was at it. The aesthetician said she'd been doing this for 20 years but it didn't seem like it. She really didn't listen at first. I'd booked myself for a bikini wax. We get in the room and she's talking brazilian and different grooming styles. Nope, just wanted a standard bikini wax. She didn't pull my skin taught, or ask me to do so. I tried to remember where to and also not to flinch but, to be honest, I haven't needed to do this in a while. I haven't been on a tropical vacation or to a beach in...forever. I know, I need to stop working to much. Anyway, I knew I was going to bruise and I saw later that she missed a few, never caring to go back with a tweezer. It wasn't a pleasant experience. I was going to run across the street to get my eyebrows threaded but that meant an extra stop, so I opted to just get them done with her to have a little clean up. They came out fine, not great. In the end, she seemed more interested in getting her tip and attempting to make sure that I'd come back to see her. I won't be back here for waxing services. The facility was clean and beautiful. There were definite precautions taken. The aesthetician never double dipped or even hesitated. There was one woman grinding down nails with a face mask on, the floors were swept. They had a good selection of colors but after picking a shellac color and having it done, it was not at all the color I picked. After the manicure I noticed a ton of dead skin and cuticles left behind. I would have done my nails myself if I knew they weren't going give me a real manicure. The pedicure left my feet feeling extremely dry with the amount of alcohol they poured on my feet (what's with that??) and they didn't exfoliate at all. Worst nail salon experience ever!! Had an appointment and they couldnt figure out who I was with when I got there... first indication that I should have left! Nails don't look good at all. Tech didn't seem too knowledgeable. Acrylic is all wavy and uneven. Never had a tech "clip" all of old acrylic off.. tore nail beds... complete hack job and my fingers ache. Nicked one finger bad... and three others. No apologies! Feel like I was a Guinea pig! Was told to pay for full set, gave discount and told not to worry about tip... really?! Exquisite Lifestyle has really gone down hill over the years. The only reason I have continued to go there is out of habit, but the past 3 times have been progressively worse to the point I have decided to find a new nail place. The salon itself is spacious and beautiful, but the products they use are inferior. The gel polishes are cheap, the acrylic is cheap, it never lasts longer than a week. They charge the highest prices around for low quality product and even lower quality service. I have caught them attempting to over charge me by as much as $15 on multiple occasions. They always adjust the price and claim the computer did it but I don't like people trying to take advantage of me. The employees do lazy sloppy work. I have gone to a few different ones hoping they'd do a better job than the last but I always end up disappointed. One nail tech in particular always cuts me with the nail sander, I literally sit there bleeding. Another burned me with their "hot towel" they drape on your hands after the manicure. It used to be a great salon, they used to serve wine and the staff were awesome, but slowly all the good people left one by one and the staff who remain are bleek and depressed. No more wine. The music they blast is horrible. My nails are always uneven shapes, sometimes I can still see the polish from my last color under my nail. I speak a bit of Vietnamese I learned while working for a Vietnamese club owner many years ago and I've noticed the staff insulting customers, even insulting me. It never really bothered me because I feel like they are just trying to make the work day pass faster by "people watching" but combined with the crappy job they have been doing it kind of adds to my overall disgust with this place. The summary of what I'm saying here is even tho it's a beautiful shop in a good location, it's over priced, and an all around unpleasant experience. You will save money, get a better longer lasting manicure, and have a nicer experience somewhere else. read more

I went yesterday for a pedi because i was in the area and was mortified by the depreciation and downfall of this once spa gem. It smelled like cigarettes, I'm pretty confident the techs are not licensed or certified. It was complete disarray, absolutely no massage in a $60 treatment, utensils seemed dirty. Started going downhill when I asked for a natural pink color and they said they didn't have it. Natural pink? What?? I feel like all salons have that. So I picked a light pink from their selection. - wasn't available. Picked another and the nail artist brought the wrong one so I asked for a different pink color. Ended up getting a cotton candy-like color manicure that I wasn't entirely pleased with. She was gentle and didn't cut to cause a bleed but my nails weren't smooth. As you can see in the pictures you can see toughness through the polish. I also noticed when I got home she forgot to put the top gel coat on one of my fingers. I received a gift card from my hubby for this place. I love that they provide a variety of services. They do hair here. I've watched numerous people get a trim. They also offer massages. To my understanding you have to schedule an appointment for that. I keep saying l'm going to make an appointment for a back and shoulder massage but l keep coming back for my gel mani and my pedicures. Let me say this place is a little on the expensive side. I have been here numerous times and l think Mary do a wonderful job on my gel manicure. I never have a problem with my nail Polish chipping or anything negative when i go to her. I have tried others out for the pedicure and the Polish chipped after a few days. I would recommend bringing in your own regular Polish though. I'm pretty much using up my gift card. I do have a regular lady that l see at another nail salon. She is probably wondering where have l been but l have to say this was a very nice Christmas gift card and l can use it over and over again. I really do think some of the girls here are so new that they aren't super efficient. Not Mary she seems to be very experienced and I like that.
