Everything was explained in detail - pricing and procedure. Then you pick a date and head in! The wait time for the procedure was longer than the procedure itself (because they had to give you something to calm your nerves as well as double check your eyes!) but even after, the staff was very kind. I remember while I was sitting there, a staff member reassured me that they wouldn't just kick me out until my ride was there (my godbrother was stuck in traffic). Not only did they reassure me, they offered water and even had someone escort me down. The guy didn't have to wait with me but he did until my godbrother had arrived (about 5min wait). I went to Dr. Brisette when she was at Weill for catarcat surgery. My right eye was operated on and was fine. I was looking forward to having my left eye done. The operation was not successful . I had very bad blurred vision. When I went back I was told by Dr. Brissette there was nothing that could be done . In other words I would have to live with it. After 2 operations I now have clear vision back in my left eye. I was very fortunate that I found a very well respected surgeon who was able to help me. But I thought it was worth that to see better Now 2 months after my surgery, I'm seeing even better than I was in glasses or contacts! Upon completion of my paperwork, I was informed that insurance would not cover it and that I would have to pay cash, which I agreed to do. Nonetheless, the representative at the desk collected my insurance information. I asked if I was paying cash, why were they collecting my insurance information? Her response was "in case something happened. It turns out that they submitted the invoice to my insurance, my insurance paid, and I paid as well. I received paperwork from my insurance stating they paid, so I proceeded to call my insurance and informed them I paid cash as well. The insurance stated they had to return the money to me; the insurance called many times to let them know and also to follow-up. Fast forward, DeLa Russo never refunded the money they owed me. My friend also decided to get surgery with me and we were able to book for same day back to back. Scheduling was fine and so was all the pre-op and post op appts. Surgery was done on a Saturday and follow ups were always weekdays. The providers here and staff are all so nice and friendly. Very informative. The day of surgery everything went flawlessly and i knew exactly what you expect b4 and after. Highly recommend this place. I come yearly for annual eye exam and never have an issue making an appt. The only advice i have is make sure you plan ahead with trains/walking to get there on time. I always try to leave earlier so i don't have issues with being seen.

i called, explained my situation to the woman, she checked…read moreif their surgeon did what i needed, i was assured that he did. i made the appointment. i was told they took my insurance. i arrived, waited and was seen by someone, who examined my eye and put in drops. that was it. an hour later she advised i would have to go to memorial sloan kettering to see another doctor, they charged me $75.00 "out of inetwork" copay after i had been told when making the appointment they were in network. a total waste of my time from INEPT personnel.
