I really like the doctor here. However her staff that answer the phones are so incredibly rude. They talk over you, don't let you finish your sentence and they sound irritated when you call. 5 stars for the doctor and the sales side. The dr doesn't overbook so when you show up appointment time you only wait a few minutes and she listens to you not only about the prescription but the health of your eyeballs. The sales side is pretty straight forward and you know your gonna pay if you get all the extras. They have a better selection than most and my glasses were ready in 2 days. If I had done this review after my first visit last week to Visionworks, it would've been five stars all the way! As a first-time patient, the visit with the doctor and her staff was excellent. In addition, ordering my glasses with Vicky could not have been more pleasant. Her customer service skills and her helpful attitude were incredibly refreshing, especially nowadays when good customer service seems scarce. OK. The second visit to Visionworks today, unfortunately, was not so great. Had that been my first visit there, I would never go back. I went back in there to order a pair of sunglasses with my new prescription. Vicky wasn't there -- and my experience with Rachel was not nearly as pleasant. As the customer, she made me feel that my inquiry about the sunglasses, and my questions about the special they were offering and the costs, were a bother to her -- accompanied by interruptions, a snarky tone, and an eye roll! It was so disappointing. Ultimately, I left without ordering the second pair and will take that little bit of business to Costco. I will leave them with three stars because my overall initial experience was excellent. I will learn from my second experience there and make sure that Vicky is working if I need to go back for any reason. read more

Buyers beware! I brought in a coupon for 2 pairs of glasses for one price. I knew that I would have to pay to upgrade the lenses. I was told to pick out two frames for $69. After being measured, the retail supervisor entered the codes and the price came out to be over $1000. I was told to come back the next day because she did not know what the problem was. The next day I got a call and the reason the glasses were so expensive was because someone mislabelled both frames. They were $99. Then she asked if I just wanted her to pick out frames for me and she could order them. How did she know what would fit and would she just guess the measurements? I went in and the 5 frames she had picked out were nothing like the ones I picked out. Very deceitful practices. read more

I have no vision insurance. Dr. Jean was wonderful and she did the complete exam for what I felt a reasonable price. I haven't purchased glasses yet because even though its BOGO free, I need the expensive thin lenses and that adds up to big bucks. That would come in at around $550+ for frames and lenses. Too much for me. Right now they also offer 40% off on one pair and 60% the second pair. So if I buy, I'm still looking at $330+ for the first pair.....although much better still painful. They have a nice selection of frames and those of you with insurance will be much happier than me. I'm happy with my exam (5 stars) its just a hard pill to swallow on the glasses without insurance. However, I would definitely recommend Visionworks. read more

We came to this place for Exams and Glasses for the kids... and saw the signs.. buy one get one free.. We have Spectera Insurance. Once we had obtained the prescription, we started to look for glasses. They had a promotion that stated buy one get one free on the frames At that time, there were a couple people working but no one greeted us, or asked if we need help.... we had to approach this Salesman and ask about the promotion.... but he did not seem to really want our business... so we decided that we would come back another time, and look but we wanted to also shop around. We came back a few weeks later, and picked out glasses for our kids. They have a nice selection, and the prices seemed reasonable, and so I spoke to a Salesperson. Anyway, she tried to answer my questions..... and I became more and more frustrated, not with her, but with the way the Insurance Process works. After all, I have been buying Vision Insurance for 14 years and only used it one time! The DEAL (BOGO) is bogus, because it is not clearly stated that it does not apply to people that have insurance....I did not realize that. so with our hopes high, we were excited about getting two pairs! Only to have our hopes dashed... After all, the insurance company is going to reimburse them for the frames! The problem is the insurance company only covers one every 24 mos including a limited set of lenses. The company needs to do a better job of displaying their Ads.... and I am sure this goes for other Vision Retailers also. Since I felt cheated... I say... thank you for your time.. but I am not feeling it here... and we leave.... I just wanted to order some much needed glasses for my children...and I was very clear that I didn't want to pay any extra out of pocket.... but I would have to pay a $10 copay. Now, after calling my insurance company, they explained how the whole process works, and we are going to go back and give it another try. Anyway.... I am giving them a good rating, and hopefully, if you go there, you will be better informed than I was and have a good experience. I will be looking for better vision insurance though..... read more

It's very important to note that "Visionworks" consists of two parts. There's the independent Optometrist, Dr. Jean Garcia on one side, and the glass shop on the other side. Optometrist: Dr. Jean Garcia is a soft spoken professional that is very skilled at what she does. She was recommended to me by several moms on a local Facebook group, and I understand why. She's great with kids. But she's also good on dealing with adults like me who have had bad experiences with vision care providers in the past. She was able to resolve issues that my last provider missed, and now I have my night vision restored and I can stare at monitors and TV's for hours as part of my work without getting headaches. Glass shop: I found a modest selection of frames for kids and adults at what I consider to be fair pricing. They also carried a small line of sport frames which if you ski or seem to crunch frames while mountain biking are very nice to have. Insurance: It's always a good idea to double check with both the optometrist and the glass shop staff on if your insurance is accepted and what your insurance covers. If you ask questions up front and come in prepared with insurance cards they will work with you to avoid unexpected charges. Ordering: If you need contacts, or custom framing I found their turnaround time is typical of any other place I've been to going over the past 20 years. Actually I got my contacts faster through the Optmetrist that I did with the 1-800 guys. 4 Stars: If you have kids, you can't go wrong taking them to see Dr. Garcia. The parking lot can be a bit tight to get in and out of, especially if they are busy. read more

I was, and continue to be, very impressed with this business. I got glasses from them about two years ago, and I've been back in several times to get them readjusted, or have a glass piece put back in (I tend to drop them). All of the employees here are very nice, very friendly and competent at their job. No matter what question you ask they have the answer to it. Not to mention 100's of selections in frames. They also have some pretty cute eyeglass cases. Whether it was to get the glasses in the first place, or visit for another reason I was always treated promptly, with kindness and respect. I just recently discovered Vision Works...I relocated to the Las Vegas area a few months ago fromFL, and was in need of replacement prescription lenses for (2) of my frames. I researched Yelp (my go-to) site for the top (10) eyewear locations within a (20) mile radius from my home in Henderson. I was running some errands near the Meadows Mall location so I gave them a call, asked a few questions, I stopped into the store shortly after, my call, and Heather was available. to work with me. To be perfectly candid...Heather exemplifies top-tiered professionalism in every bucket.I have been in the salon-spa industry for 40+ years and I can, in a matter of seconds know who is professional, knowledgable, energetic and overall love what they do, and genuinely care about the people they are dong it for. Then there those...well without wasting words and energy whose approach (or attitude) is the polar opposite across the board! Then, last week, I called (VW's) Mall Ring Circle location in Henderson (a much closer location to my home), I spoke with Liz, (General Manager) at this location. Liz was equally as knowledgable, energetic, knowledgable as Heather, and mentioned they know each well and worked together. s well as accommodating to my lengthy list of questions. Liz shared with me that she was headed into meetings for the remainder of the day however she recommended that I ask for Mary Lou (Manager) when I stop in. I was running late from my business day, called 10 minutes prior to closing (at 7pm), and Mary Lou answered the phone...I explained I was running 5-10 minutes-late,, and could she wait for me. Without hesitation Mary Lou said thats fine, because she had a few tasks to do anyway. So, I arrived at 712pm, and Mary Lou was awesome. As opposed to many my experiences with un-inspired & undedicated sales staff projecting an 'Im doing you a favor' attitude. Nuff said about that gang. Mary Lou treating me like I was her first customer of the day. I seldom write reviews about the sub-standard practices of retail, and the hospitality universe. If I did, well lets just say I wouldn't have much time left-over for my business ventures. I've been waiting for my daughter's contact lenses for almost a month. I call today, and the guy at the front desk tells me they are ready and have been ready for 2 weeks! Are you serious? I've called every week and the same rude lady tells me they're not ready and THEY WILL call me when they are ready! So, I told the guy this was unacceptable and unprofessional and he said "yea, I'm sorry I don't know what happen with the phone call to let u know they're ready, but they're ready for you to pick up". I told him this is very unprofessional for u guys not Inform paying customers when their items are ready. And I will write a review about your office." He then said "oh that's ok it's not a big deal". I was not surprised by his nonchalant response but it's still not acceptable by any customer's standards! Do NOT waste your time at this office. The front desk people are unhappy to be there and they show it with their lack of professionalism. Today was my first visit to Vision Works! They had a sale of buy one get one free so I got glasses and prescription sunglasses! I went in and was greatly quickly. Jesus B. took care of me with finding a pair of glasses and going over options that were available! Jesus was great. I had a pair of glasses from another place and was unsure what the lens was made out off. He looked at the lens and said right off the bat it was poly made material! I was impressed with the service here I got and would never go to that scam place called LENSCRAFTERS! I will be back in the future to Visionworks and will for sure ask for Jesus B. This place is a joke, I gave two because the lady who helped fit and fill my mom for her prescription was nice and helpful otherwise they barely deserve that. On her (my mom) appt day, to see the dr she was skipped over while they saw other people to which we didn't have time for to find out it was an insurance issue from F O U R years ago! Nonsense. Now forward almost three weeks and her glasses should be in but no one has let us know so, so she (my mom) calls to check on them and the guy on the phone says they've been there for the last few days. Awesome, no one could be bothered to let her know that. With C-19 an appt apparently is also required for glasses pickup so now that they've been sitting there for days and this guy on the phone was not accommodating to her schedule at all looks like the glasses we've paid for will continue to sit there though she needs them to do what glasses do and SEE! read more

Staff acknowledges you right when you open the door even when they're all busy so you'll know they will help you as soon as they can. Rachel, one of the opticians, was the one who helped me from start to finish. When I first went in, there were issues with getting a hold of my insurance to get an authorization. Rachel offered to reach out to my insurance the following day and then let me know what my out of pocket would be. As promised, Rachel called me back the next day. She was honest and never made me feel like all she cared about was up selling. She explained the costs and catered to what I needed for my glasses. They said I could use my free pair for my daughter so I take my daughter in there, get an eye exam, she picks out a pair of glasses, and they tell me no I cant do that. Come to find out its only buy one get one if you pay cash with no insurance. Very embarrassing and hurt my daughters feelings after we had to leave after they told me no. I purchased 3 pair of glasses, the close vision were to be for the computer. They ended up being for reading, Visionsworks error. I went back and told them I would keep the reading glasses and purchase another pair of frames if they would put the correct lenses in the new pair. I was told I had to return the reading glasses and it would cost another $225 for the new computer glasses. That is 1/2 of what I paid for 3 pair. I will take the prescription and get a cheap pair from some other glass people. I have been a customer at Visionworks for over 6 years, NO MORE..... read more

Called vision works and verified that they were a preferred provider on my insurance and they assured me that they were. Six months later collections is calling me because my vision works is not a preferred provider and instead of sending me a bill they sent me straight to collections. Very unhappy with being lied to...there is always a difference between preferred provider and provider and now I have a cluster **** to deal with as well as paying an additional 70 bucks. read more
