I've been itching to try Vita Cane and made an online order for pickup to avoid any waiting. Our drinks were ready and pulled out from a fridge when we arrived. Ordered two create your owns: one with infused kumquat and the other with infused pennywort. The sugarcane with infused kumquat brings me back to the times I went to a small little shop in Westminster for the same drink that came in a styrofoam cup. I'm not sure if they added any sweetener or if it was the sugarcane but it was a tad too sweet (would be impressive if it was all natural!!). I was mostly excited for the infused pennywort but was disappointed the pennywort overpowered the sugarcane. The drink tasted like just a pennywort drink you could get at a Vietnamese restaurant instead of it being infused with sugarcane. I'd still come back to try the acai bowls and some of their signature sugarcane drinks. read more

Location/Parking: Located on Main St. between 1st and Garfield. Parking can either be found in the surrounding streets or in the parking structure behind the shop. Ambiance/Decor: Similar ambiance and murals that you would see along the walls at the Rosemead location. Shop is a bit smaller than the Rosemead location Service: Service was great. When I got out of the car, the carrying bag broke and 98% of the juice went all over the driveway. Fortunately, 2% of the drink tasted the same as the Rosemead location. Soooo..... consistency was there. Note: Please use two hands when you're carrying your drinks. Carrying bag is a little flimsy. If you don't, your sugarcane juice will result in the same fate as mine and you'll feel depressed for a long time... jk Shop For Thought: Hope this shop survives in this location. After the bases, there is a huge selection of toppings, ranging from granolas, fresh fruits, nuts, coconuts, and some unique options for açaí bowls such as mochi and sriracha macadamia nuts. My bf & I got the 32oz ($7.50) Fire Dragon (purple dragon fruit, strawberry, & sugarcane) and the So Matcha Love (strawberry, matcha, & sugarcane). We also added matcha boba ($0.75) to the So Matcha Love. Their boba is agar boba (aka healthy boba) and not regular boba haha! Drinks overall is absolutely delicious. 10/10 would recommend & will be getting way more often! Price is on the pricier side, but very worth. I was very excited when I heard that there was a Vita Cane opening up here in Alhambra. I would go to the Rosemead one all the time and even though it was a little bit further away it was still worth the trip but now that it's in Alhambra it's way closer to me. I will definitely be coming here more often. They took over the old Robeks juice location on the NW corner of Garfield and Main. The store itself is a little bit smaller than the Rosemead location and I feel like a lot of space is used to it because of the long hallway entrance they have in the back. Either way it should be fine unless there's a lot of people waiting for their acai bowls or drinks. On the flip side, the back entrance is very convenient because otherwise having to walk to the Main Street entrance would have been a longer walk. I still haven't tried the acai bowls here but I always get the sugarcane juice. I usually go with a vita cane 50-50, the aloha sunrise which is the same drink with pineapple juice. I am a big fan of their coco bits which is tiny pieces of coconut and usually it's really soft and chewy. Only once did I have it turn out not great from the Rosemead location and I'm there almost every week. The açai bowls are very Insta worthy and I'm sure you can find those in the pictures. You order towards the front counter which is closest to the Main St side, and then you pick up your things on the side. It took me a while to figure out where to order at first. The workers were really nice and they made my drink really quickly. So quickly I didn't get a chance to take as many pictures as I wanted. Overall, I'm thrilled that they have a location here in Alhambra. If you are frequent visitor and make sure you download the Elephant Foot Stamp program for their loyalty card system so you can rack up 8 stamps to get your 9th free. read more

I love coming here for sugarcane juice! My all-time favorite drink is the coco jack-- It's light and sweet. I usually go for their large size (definitely worth the cost for the amount you get). This might sound weird but the drink still tastes as great even if you store it for the next day (which in my opinion is a plus). I recently tried their build-your-own bowls. I got the coco fresh and matcha blend. The two flavors go well together! Again, it's very light, but you can really taste the coconut and surprisingly, the matcha. I usually don't expect a lot of matcha flavor from juice bars, however Vita Cane nailed it! They've got a bunch of other flavors and toppings to choose from as well. Again, I recommend getting the large size as it is more worth your money for the amount you get. Service has always been wonderful here. I recently got my wisdom teeth removed-- I had mentioned this to a staff member and they went ahead and cut up the bananas to smaller pieces without me asking (thank you! ). The shop doesn't get overly packed, but there are lots of foot traffic. There's seats around the shop to sit and enjoy your drink/bowls! read more

I LOVE Vita Canes! I'm so happy that their Alhambra location finally opened! I suggest parking in the back parking structure so you can go through the back entrance. When you walk through from their back entrance you get to see a ton of amazing artwork that's just so beautiful! One drink I absolutely love is their Lemon Berry Berry. If you're a fan of blueberries definitely try this drink! It has fresh raw cane with lemon, blueberry, AND strawberry. My friend also ordered the strawberry peach blast which was also pretty good! Vita Canes also took COVID precautions. Their workers are wearing mask, hand sanitizer is provided near the cashier, and there are stickers on the floor marking 6ft apart. They are located in Downtown Alhambra right on Main St. across the street from the Regal Edwards theaters. There's a couple of parking spots right on Main, but you are better off parking in the structure in the back. We came in on a Saturday around 6:30pm and ordered a large Sugar Cane with kumquat. My drink was ready within a couple of minutes after placing the order. There was nobody in the store at the time so there was no wait at all. I like that they seal the top like at most boba places. While driving home, I took a sip of the drink and it was not good. The juice was water downed and it was tart and tasted more like limeade. I had my wife try it and she agreed. She mentioned that there was a bitter taste to it. I wish I had watched them make the drink to see how much ice was in the pitcher they poured into my cup. I bet it was squeezed earlier in the day and just sat in a pitcher full of ice. So by 6:30pm, it was water downed. Normally when you ask for kumquat to be added, they use 1 or maybe 2 kumquat while pressing the juice. I think the employee had a heavy hand and maybe poured too much in and made it sour and bitter. I still prefer Fresh Canes in Rosemead, but since I was in the Alhambra area, I decided to come here instead. Great for acai bowls, have not tried their juices! Been coming here since their rosemead location opened and love the range of base flavors and toppings that you have to choose from. I recently noticed ube and blood Orange which are so unique compared to other acai places. The only thing I don't like is how they will scoop the bases and let it sit out while they slowly add toppings to each bowl for the people who ordered before you. Yummm I love me some sugar cane juice. I order one with ice and one without. I always prefer with ice to water it down just a wee bit, but this also means you have to quickly finish the drink before it gets too watered down. They have a ton of other mixed fruit juices and açaí bowl but I only came here for the sugar cane juice which is so hard to find on the east coast where I'm from. This review has been long over due but you have no idea how excited I was when I found out that Vita Cane opened in Alhambra. My bf and I used to drive to their Rosemead location to get our sugar cane fix so we're happy that the one here opened up. This review is only for the sugar cane juice because that's all I've ordered before. They have a LOT of toppings and you can customize your sugar cane juice to however you like, so I always have a tough time ordering. My go to is usually kumquat sugarcane and it's super yummy. I did decide to go with a blueberry sugar cane this time and I like how you can see they use real ingredients. They do press the sugarcane fresh so it will be a wait until you get your order. That's why I like that they have an online ordering system, so I can run in from the back and pick up. They do like to ask for the last 4 digits of your phone number if you are picking up an online order. Tip: If you are entering from the back, the walk to the store is further than you'd think, so keep following that hallway! read more

So I came for the Acai bowl. And I would say it's a darn good bowl. Here are the plusses. Lots and lots of base and topping options. I chose Pitaya and Matcha. With chia pudding. I liked the many granola options. I also liked the idea of five fruit options. Here's the rub. Two were frozen and diced. The mango and pineapple and they didn't have a lot of flavor. The fresh options were blueberries, banana and Strawberry. I was a little perplexed that the blueberries were in a vat of water and scooped out with a metal spoon with holes in it. Maybe to preserve them? I'm not sure. But I could sense the wateriness. Now the only other minus was a lack of cashew butter. But the almond butter tasted great. They also have a lot of sweet options as well like some crushed cookies and candy etc. the best part is the server really went all out with the toppings for a small. I appreciated that. Fresh mango and pineapple would have been better for me. But perhaps when it gets even warmer, the frozen fruit will make more sense. Overall this is a decent value for an area not know for acai bowls. They also had lots of fresh fruit juice option but no smoothies. I'll try again and update my review. This location cannot compete with the Rosemead location on Valley. I ordered my usual Green Machine and I noticed the drink wasn't even green, like there wasn't any pennywort in the drink. We asked the staff if she could add more pennywort. They responded saying the amount was correct per instructions. I've been to the Rosemead location numerous of times and the drink has always been more on the dark green side, where you can still taste both the sugarcane and pennywort. This location and drink was disappointing. The sugarcane tasted watered down and the pennywort was barely there. The staff did add a tinge more pennywort, but I could barely taste it. Came in around 1 PM on a Sunday. I typically don't have the best time here due to the service, but today was especially off-putting. The cashier was on her phone. I get it; when work is slow, we all want to scroll and catch up on messages. But after waiting for her to finish, she just stared at my friend and me so rudely. Not sure when my cue to order would be, I questioned if it was okay for me to order and asked for a build-your-own bowl. I still received no response, like at all! Literally left me on read. We just stood there staring at each other awkwardly until she asked, 'Your bases?' I understand that this could be their first job, but it's not difficult to greet someone and kindly take their order. It's extremely awkward coming here when staff are consistently rude, constantly on their phone, and the service is terribly slow.
