If you're in a hurry I would avoid this location. I wanted something quick before an appointment I had. I ordered a nutty bowl. Sat down and waited. The place was empty.... Once 15 min passed I was a bit annoyed. But I am a very patient person. So gave it a couple more minutes, then another person comes in and the lady in the back comes out, so I take this chance to ask if my bowl is ready yet, the lady looks confused and said there is no order for me. Then I said "I just ordered a bowl with you a couple minutes ago". She looks confused and she says something to another girl in the back and bam I get my bowl in literally 2 min. 1. Shady practice. They couldn't understand yelp check-in 10% off, they demanded a coupon code. When they couldn't figure it out, they agreed to do it. Phew! However after looking at the receipt realized they did a weird 3.5% (student discount) instead!! 2. Refusal to combine Vitality rewards with any discount (no where in the asterisks terms it mentions Vitality's rewards cannot be combined with other discounts). 3. many times their waffle maker has been out-of-order 4. Quaint little interior with plenty of cool air to escape the outside heat since we all know how crazy hot it can get in the East Bay. The smoothies here are fantastic. All extremely healthy with fresh and natural ingredients. Often times you get little bits of the raw ingredients that come up through the straw which is a bit satisfying knowing that it's not the powdered stuff you find at most other places. The staff is friendly though often times they're in the back making the orders so you'll need to ring the bell to get their attention. Personally I enjoy coming here after a good workout or a nice, long hike. But to be honest, I can easily come here everyday if it's a little more convenient to the house lol. read more

Another review. I've gotten a smoothie probably 5 times in the past several months. There's always chunks in them. I worked at the San Jose location several years back, and the owner there was big about blending to make sure there's never chunks. This location has never failed to give me several large chunks in my smoothie still. Prices are a little higher than I am used to paying but the selection is great and they also serve hot foods, Salads and Smoothies. In the OC there always seemed to be a new one popping up with similar and each shop's own unique twist to their bowls. With that being said, I really enjoyed my visit to Vitality Bowls. I came here thanks to the Yelp Elite event, otherwise I'm not too sure I would've come by my own choice. Compared to other acai bowl locations I've been to Vitality Bowls seems to be pretty pricey and I'm not too sure if it's because there's a lack of competition in this realm in the East Bay or if it's due to the quality of the fruits and add-ins they're going for. Either way, the free bowl I ordered should've been approximately $12 for a medium....and I've honestly never paid that much for an acai or pitaya bowl before, but maybe it's something I just need to get used to after moving back here...not too sure. I ordered a Dragon Bowl, which is made using pitaya, mango juice, coconut milk, bananas, pineapples, raspberries, and an immunity boost for its base. For toppings the dragon bowl has strawberries, kiwi, almonds, goji berries, bee pollen and honey! It was super delicious and I really enjoyed the extra crunch the almonds added to the mix. Do your thing... Get out. Walls are an elegant light grey with one purple accent wall with matching purple lampshades. Rustic wood tabletops clash with laminate wood siding on the walls. I understand if you're busy it may take a while to get to the register (I used to work for a VB a while back so I know what goes on inside the kitchen), but it shouldn't take three minutes for someone to come out to take my order when I am the only one in store and there are two people in the back just standing there awkwardly making eye contact with me through the window.. Unfortunately, my last few experiences with Vitality Bowl have been very disappointing. I've gone there AT LEAST 3 different times to get fresh juice, only for them to tell me that they're not making it or that they are out. Two of those times I went at least an hour before the store closed and they said they couldn't make fresh juice because they had just cleaned the machine. Although the workers are very nice, they do not seem as if they've been trained on good Customer Service. So many times you get the since that they are there to just do a job and do not care about the experience of their customer. For example, telling someone that you are not willing to offer them juice that is CLEARLY available because you just cleaned the machine. That certainly does not leave the customer feeling valued. I do not plan on going back to Vitality Bowls unless there are no other options available. read more

Yesterday I had the chance to stop at Vitality Bowls. It's mainly acai type bowls and smoothies. I got the kids bowl, for about $6.50 since I just wanted a snack and the others were about $10 and up. I substituted the apple juice for almond milk (since the last time I had a bowl like this I thought it was too sweet). The acai blend was tasty, and the toppings (granola, banana, and strawberry) were in a very pretty presentation and enough quantity so that I got some stuff with every bite (good stuff to bite ratio! ha!). I got it to-go and it came in a clear plastic cup. It was a pretty good size. It took maybe 5 minutes to make, but it was a non-meal time on a weekend afternoon and the place was totally empty. This shopping center is great for travel between the Bay Area and the Central Valley/Beyond... It's right off the freeway, has tons of parking, and has a variety of quick places to grab a bite to eat and become a little rested and refreshed before hitting the road again. I was always curious what was inside the bland store front with the vibrant title: "Vitality Bowls" ... but alas I would get distracted by something that I already knew (hello Whole Foods, Chipotle, and Yalla).. Now I know. And I just may stop by again, if a bowl full of fruits/veggies/juices is what I need! read more

Very good for my first time. There are a lot of options and I didn't know where to begin, but I randomly chose one and was happy with what I had. They are pricy, but they do contain a lot healthier ingredients than choosing to have a large restaurant breakfast. I had the large size $15 bowl that did refresh and fill me up. I will most likely not come too often because their menu item's ingredients are easily accessible & I'll be trying out their recipes at home. You know, it's unfortunate that the first acai bowl I ever had was Banzai Bowls in Laguna Beach. They just set the bar really high for me. Compared to BB, VB is alright taste-wise and too pricey.
