Called up and scheduled an appointment with Jon. Upon his arrival we just knew things were about to trend in the right direction. He has such an incredible personality, is patient and overall, has a down to earth demeanor that is a RARITY (and refreshing to see) in this city. After attempting to "kick" the starter and run diagnostics on the battery, it became evident that both needed to be replaced. The battery was only a few months old, but as is the case sometimes, there is a chance you might end up with a dud. Based on Jon's suggestion, we managed to get a replacement from the nearby auto parts store, and within a couple days, the starter replacement arrived, and Jon not only installed it but even helped change the oil in my mom's car as well and answer some of her questions and concerns. I trusted their 'professional diagnosis' and ended up paying a total of $1,118.02 ($345.88 in parts and an excessive $608.68 in labor plus additional fees). ​The car left the shop in the exact same condition. Despite following their suggestion to complete two 100-mile driving cycles, the Check Engine light remains on. ​To make matters worse, I was later referred to another Meineke location where a second diagnosis confirmed that the problem was, in fact, the catalytic converters all along. They essentially ignored my initial request to sell me unnecessary parts. ​I have filed two complaints with customer service and have been completely ignored. The shop refuses to apply the amount I already paid as a credit toward the correct repair, only offering a 20% discount to spend an additional $2,500. This is a total lack of ethics.
