I visited my family and we wanted to get pho, and coming from Los Angeles and having pho there, this restaurant is AS GOOD or honestly, even BETTER than any places in LA. I got the beef combination and it was amazing. I didn't put much Hoisin or sriracha to add any flavor because it was THAT good. The broth, outstanding and SO worth it. We also got spring rolls and lemme tell you, I have tried so many spring rolls and a lot of their sauces don't really pop to me. But VN Dish delivered on their sauce and it was just wonderful. The spring roll was nice and soft, and had nice crunch inside. But the sauce was just oh so good. I highly recommend eating here. It's so good!!!!! Stopped in today for lunch. The yelp reviews suggested in was a pretty good place for some good Vietnamese food. I got the lemon grass chicken rice plate. It was spicy and fantastic. The owner recommended that next time I get it with an over easy egg for added flavor. I will certainly give that a try and do appreciate when owners go the extra mile to give helpful suggestions. I've actually been coming to this place since I was little. I'm 26 now and I'm glad to see it's still here. The place still looks more or less the same since however many years ago but don't let the appearance fool you. It's in a strip mall you're likely to pass by without visiting but please give this place a look. Their Pho is still some of the best and stacks up next to lots of places in OC. We stopped here for dinner on our drive from San Diego to a pumpkin patch in Chino Hills. Don't judge the quality of food based on the shop's appearance from the parking lot. It was delicious!!! The gentleman working, I'm assuming the owner, set up table and chairs outside the restaurant to stay within the county's COVID-19 restriction. The inside of the shop was immaculately clean from what I could see through the windows. The gentleman was an attentive and gracious host, waiter, AND chef! The food took a bit of time but that's to be expected when it's literally one person running the entire shop! I grew up in Little Saigon in OC, so I know good pho. His is phenomenal!!! I got the rare beef pho, my teen got the beef banh mi, my 10yo got the chicken and rice plate, and my partner got the shrimp pad Thai and shrimp spring rolls. Everything was light years beyond our already high expectations. Our friends, who recently spent 2 weeks in VN for a wedding, also could not stop talking about how good the food was. tl;dr - Excellent food worthy of the high ratings on both Yelp and Google. I came here with my gf who is a) Vietnamese and b) a total Viet food connoisseur. We have eaten at all the best OC spots in Little Saigon and this totally hangs. We didn't have pho, but the banh mi is made 100% fresh with excellent ingredients. Even my gf was blown away how authentic and delicious it was. I'm honestly surprised by how good everything was, the meat was on point, super tasty and filling portions too. The interior could use a little makeover maybe some music pumped in from somewhere (there's a TV on the counter that was on some silly hidden camera show). It was pretty empty when we went in, but someone came out very quickly to seat us and hand out menus. My stomach was feeling off so chicken pho sounded perfect. My husband and I both got a bowl and some egg rolls to split. Our food came out quickly, our mint leaves were thoroughly washed, the chicken was nice and shredded (I hate when places give you giant chunks! How are you supposed to eat those??). I ordered the bun bo hue and it is good. I am a little worried tho because the restaurant seems to be very slow. You will see kids there, the bathroom is a little scary but still okay. As I walked into this wonderful hidden gem that is VN Dish, I saw a child watching Tom and Jerry cartoons. I immediately felt eight at home and had the most wonderful bowl of pho ever tasted since my mother's. Please support this restaurant, and give their pho a try! The owner is extremely kind and remembers me from one visit to another. I get the Bun Bo Hue and I didn't expect that in this up-and-coming area that it would be some of the best I've ever had. The Cha Lua tastes like it was made on-site which adds an extremely unique touch. The broth has the perfect balance of spicy, salty and bitter notes.
