The customer service on this airline company is horrible. If you have an issue, you have to download WhatsApp and attempt to communicate with someone. This business is horrible. Last year Volaris was having a sale. I called the airline to see how the sale worked since I wasnt sure if I could go on vacation on a specific date. The airline worker told me that I could change my flight to another day for a small fee. I was like awesome, I can do this! So I ended up purchasing my flight for 176dlls. I called the airline to change my flight date and the volaris staff member on the phone told me it would be 498dlls to change my flights. That is ridiculous. I told the volaris staff member that I would end up paying more money to change the flight than what the flight actually cost me. The volaris staff member didnt care. AND...while we were talking on the phone, I went on my computer to see how much the tickets would cost for those specific dates I wanted. The flights would end up being 325dlls. LESS than what they want to charge me to change the date. I told the Volaris worker and again, he didnt care. This airline is unprofessional and all they want is your money. Hello, After almost a week of attempting to reach assistance, I received an automated message to go to my trips page and change my flight. Your instructions were to change the "return" flight first before changing the departure flight (not sure why you need to change the return flight first weird) I did and was able to change the return flight but now unable to change the departure flight. My flight is to leaves TODAY April 3, 2020 from Tijuana to Culiacan and for almost a week have not been able to speak to someone or allowed to just change my flight as states on your site! You are not answering phone, emails, messages via Twitter or Facebook and have thousands of messages from irate customers in the situation as me. Your false advertisement that you care about your customers is pathetic. Please respond and assist your customers. I have filed a complaint with US DOT, BBB, Mexican Profeco (sure that won't help) and my credit card company. From a flight from Tijuana to Guadalajara for the first time ever...They were very rude and even cancelled my moms ticket after she asked them what their name was because of how rude they were, Itzayana, Dayanara), in the airport they were looking at the shampoos we had and put them in a separate pile (for them to take home because the others they didn't care about they put them on a different side). After the two girls cancelled my moms ticket the man at baggage claim was very rude as well and said we weren't going to pass by with our luggage anymore no matter what we wanted to do. After we had to change our flight because of how late volaris made us they even put our tickets in separate sections when we paid for our seats to be next to each other, mind you this was my first time on an airplane ever so I was very nervous and scared especially being around people I didn't know and I'm afraid of heights as well... After talking to the flight attendants as well to try to at least sit next next to my brother or mom they kept brushing us off and kept saying after this you can move or after this, in the end they said someone else had sat there. Talking to customer service on the phone was very rude as well and said they had no record of us buying the flight insurance to be able to change our flight ticket in case of anything, all in all worst experience ever, volaris is very rude and do not care about their customer satisfaction at all, never again will I fly with them again or go through Tijuana airport either. We were suppose to fly out to visit my boyfriends family with his mother who is currently undergoing chemo. At her last appt before the flight her Dr informed her of the coronavirus and told her she should not fly as she is considered high risk. After explaining all of this to Volaris multiple times they declined my request and only offered a credit that would be taxed to my boyfriend for him to use within the next 30 days! There is no customer service in this airline. They have an email @tuExperience that is worthless. They charge you for everything, you can carry with you a little briefcase where your computer fits, anything else - you have to pay for it. You want a window or aisle seat - you have to pay for it. You need water, you have to pay for it. Anything you need, you pay for it. I got a voucher for 2000 pesos and although I did everything I needed to do to use it, I was unable to use it and the company doesn't even respond to my messages. The only reason why I continue using it is because this is the only airline with direct flight to my hometown otherwise, I would scrap it all together. read more

We used the Tijuana bridge to enter Mexico. Once we checked in Volaris delayed our flights twice. We waited for 2 hours. They informed us that they can not accommodate our flight to Guadalajara since they delayed the flight so we would miss our connecting flight to Cancun. So then told us EXIT into the front of the TIJ airport. We stood in line for an HOUR (my feet are exhausted), and they lacked communicating what was going on! The friends we made throughout the last 3 hours of waiting informed us that they usually use Volairo for their flights and that the fog at 6:00 am may have contributed at first but they suspected more going on since EVERY OTHER AIRLINE BESIDES VOLAIRO was flying in and out. Then Volario informed us that we needed to exit the terminals and go into the beginning of the TIJ airport. We did as we were told they couldn't not accommodate us with a flight till the next day!! So we asked for a refund and were told by Laura that she would make a comment in the system and that we get one when we call customer service. In order to fly with Volairo we would have had to wait till the following day although we had already paid for 1. Our flights and 2. The bridge tickets round trip. We called customer service explained the situation. We were AGAIN promised a refund by the representative however, he was missing a comment that Laura had told us she wrote in the system! We had to go back to the counter in which Laura seemed confused as to why they didn't get the comment... I then let her talk with customer service on the phone. Just when I think they might make things right she then says no refund and hangs up with the customer service representative before I could get a chance to speak with them again! Since we would not be flying with Volairs we went to get our bags. We got 1 bad back however, my husbands bag was on a flight even though we never even flew anywhere!!!! They also wouldn't let us both go back to find out bags. Matt went back to find them while I stayed behind. I felt so unsafe being left behind. When we We then called customer service, they told me we could have a refund and then told us we couldn't have a one. So now we are in the front of the airport and now needing to get back to the Bridge so get back to the USA. In order to do that we had to throw away over $100 of beauty products to get through security. Still no refund but they offer us vouchers... we will see if we even use them. This airline really is so unprofessional there is not one time I have taken a flight with them and it went well. They always have delayed flights, rude staff, suitcases are treated like garbage. My aunt got her Versace perfume stolen from this airline staff. My dad got his knee injured by a negligent, careless flight attendant while on flight. On our trip from Ontario, California to Cancun last month, we were instructed to pick up our luggage in Guadalajara, go through customs, and recheck our bag to Cancun. We did what we were told and missed our flight on account of long lines. Volaris made us pay for a new flight: $400 for the two of us and bags. Volaris refused to take responsibility for bad instructions and their long line in Guadalajara. DO NOT FLY VOLARIS. They do not care about their customers. read more

I am reviewing Volaris (airline), and CheapOair.com (travel booking) for this experience. This trip was for my elderly mother, and I tried to cover all my bases, but unfortunately I was misinformed by both companies before and after the initial flight took place. After several calls were placed to verify checked-in luggage before and after booking with CheapOair, I also called Volaris and was told the same thing - she would be allowed 1 piece of luggage free of charge. So imagine my dismay when I find out that she was charged for her single piece of luggage, and she was told at the Volaris Check-in counter that it was because it was overweight (it was not), then when she argued that it wasn't, she was told it was oversized (again, it was not), then when she argued back that point, she was told that her fare was the cheapest allowed, and that she had to pay more.... Volaris first told her it would be almost $30, when she asked to speak with someone else that person told her it would then be almost $60! My mother asked for a supervisor, and that person settled at the first price given... so what am I supposed to think at this point??? I called Volaris on my mother's behalf, and am told by a CSR that an overcharge had been made in error and was offered a 1 year credit voucher for future travel. I declined it and asked that her money to be refunded, because it a credit voucher was too impractical for someone who wasn't expected to travel within a year. I was told that an investigation would take place, and that I would receive a follow-up call with outcome in 5 to 7 business days... the call did not come. I called a day before her return flight to find out how Volaris was going to make this right, and was finally informed by a CSR that CheapOair had not included the check-in luggage price into the fare. I Immediately called CheapOair to verify the information, and it was confirmed correct. After everything is said and done, I spent hours being on hold, and was not given the correct information that could have easily helped me avoid the embarrassment of my mother getting inconvenienced for something that was not her fault, or her responsibility. You would think that the story is over at this point, but let me tell you about the return flight home for my mother... it gets worse! My mom happened to weigh her check-in luggage with Greyhound before she got to the airport, and it was 15kg. When she got to the Volaris check-in counter at Tijuana Airport they weighed the same luggage and said that it was over (the limit was 25kg), and that she would have to pay for an additional piece of luggage; however, she didn't have enough money to cover this unexpected expense, and rather than letting these crooked a-holes make her miss her flight, she managed to buy a cheap carry-on bag at the airport store and cram as much of her belongings into it as she could. My mom had to abandoned her very decent luggage, and a few other valuables (including a very nice Christmas gift) in order to finally board the plane just before Volaris closed the gate. My mom also called these bastards thieves to their faces before she left the counter, and told them God was her witness. I STRONGLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM USING THESE COMPANIES... WITH BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING, AND A MUCH NEEDED 'CUSTOMER FIRST ATTITUDE' THIS DRAMA WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. I also hold CheapOair equally responsible, because their initial misinformation helped set the stage for this big mess. I would give a zero star rating to both companies if I could, but I have to at least give a 1 star just to post this review. Jose Gomez from Volaris Tijuana should get a bonus for the 2000 pesos he stole from my family. He went so far as to weigh our carry ons and charge us 500 pesos for each one while every other attendant didn't do that to any of the other passengers. I guess blonde hair in Mexico means money because this asshole took the cake for 45 minutes while there's a super huge line going all the way through the airport...era una Linea de caracol! I would put zero stars but it won't let me. I would NEVER book with this air flight again. They changed our gate number 20 minutes prior to our flight departing. Our boarding pass said a certain number along with my check in bag. We arrived early and we're ready to board our flight. Once we were about to board, the flight attendant then told us we were at the wrong gate. We ran to the correct gate and the plane was still there but the doors were closed. They didn't let us on. Once we got to the customer service they were very inconsiderate and tried saying it's our fault. I have never experienced this before. There were other people that also missed the flight because they decided to change the gate number last minute. Spend the extra bucks and book with a different air flight It'll be worth it. The airline is the worst. I tried to check in and "the system" assigned my husband and I seats 4 rows apart. I called to let them know and they said that the system randomly assigns seats and that I could PAY to change them. I don't understand why I would need to pay extra to sit next to my husband if we bought the tickets together on the Same transaction. My brother who bought 8 tickets on the same flight was able to check in and "the system" assigned all 8 of them seats together. It is unbelievable how much they will nickle and dime you. One week ago on 3/20/20, one week before my flight from Tijuana to Puerta Vallarta, I emailed Volaris to try and change my flight (see email below). I continued to check the website, but the website would not let me change my flight unless it was a flight in the following month, which was not possible given the coronavirus explosion and Americans' inability to travel to Mexico and rapidly changing situation. By March 24th, I was driving my elderly mother back to her house in Northern California, so she could isolate/quarantine and was not checking email as I had given up on reaching anyone at Volaris. 3 days before my flight, I was sent an email that I could change my flight using the website, but I did not get back home until today, the day of my flight out of Tijuana, by which time the website did not allow me to change my outbound flight from Tijuana to Puerta Vallarta today, March 27, 2020. I was able to change the return flight for Christmas, so I did. The problem is I no longer have a flight from Tijuana to Puerta Vallarta. Because of the radically changing conditions and government mandate, I was not allowed by the American government to cross the border and was legally mandated to shelter in place in San Diego with my two children. I tried to call Volaris and their phone tree is a nightmare. It hangs up on you at the end of most of the options. According to Volari's website, flights that are cancelled due to extraordinary circumstances or due to regulatory authorities, their policy is "We will give you an electronic for the amount of the base fare and the additional services you purchased. You can use it to book a new flight in the next 30 days, to travel within 12 months." Because of the pandemic Coronavirus - and our inability to suddenly cross the border using our cross border ticket to catch a flight in TJ - we are in an extraordinary circumstance DUE TO regulatory authorities. This is the worse experience I have ever had flying. Our flight was delayed over 4 hours and there was no communication. The gate was changed and still no communication. We paid extra for our seats so we could sit next to each other and they split us up and said there was nothing they could do. I would NEVER fly with Volaris again. read more

We questioned why our luggage was being measured and everyone else's wasn't her response was she was following police we had 3 luggage bags that she was giving us trouble with same height weight length brand she measured the first one and said it was fine they took that one to the plane she measured the second one and she said it was fine she measured the third one and she said we had to pay 600 pesos because the length did not meet police how the fuck do you pass the other two same freaken bags and then try charging us for the third one because it's to long BULLSHIT the second luggage bag was still there and we told her you said the other two where fine please re measure it so she did and she's like now you are going to pay for two multiple times we asked to speak to a supervisor she finally arrived to basically tell us how would you like to pay cash credit or debit did not take the time to listen and refused to re measure the luggage herself stating she was going to go based on Gabrielas measures like how is that fair how is it possible you measure something asure us it's fine and then you say never mind how do you even get hired without knowing the basic you didn't even weight half of our hand bags I'm pretty sure Gabriela will never forget that one customer that called her a pendeja if anybody cares reading this let her know to believe in herself not to hesitate and to take some measuring classes VOLARIS CORPORATE please doing something about this service!!!! read more

Im very disappointed for the bad service they had on dec 23 my flight supposed to fly at 8:07 from Guadalajara to Tijuana arriving at 9:10 pm at Tijuana airport but was delayed hour by hour till Dec 24 at 11:30 and arrived at Tijuana at 1:30 am on Dec 25 this was the worst experience ever at Volaris this happen because there was to much fog and plane cannot land I totally understand but I was not offered to stay no were and had to sleep at the airport and waited many hours about 30 hours and never had something clear finally getting home I receive a credit for 1500 Mxn pesos to use on my next flight but I have tu use it before this January 24 which is like telling me I just lost my credit because I think I should be able to use it during this year or at least 90 days this for me is not fair so I just won't the people to know this that ( volaris ) is the worse airline that there is they didn't know how to resolve this problem it's on the local news every were so if you fly on their airline it's something to think about the service they offer . read more

I bought tickets for family from Mexico to fly to Tijuana and cross via CBX from April 1st-April12th. These tickets were bought earlier in the year. Due to COVID-19 I need to cancel or reschedule since the family members are 65+ yrs old. I tried rescheduling on line and the system is incredible slow. Also, when I click on a flight a pop-up message appears stating that my services originally selected are not available on the selected flight... no matter what flight/day/time I select. It directs me to call Volaris. When I call Volaris, the system cuts off the call at 6-7 minutes. The other times the call doesn't go through, just drops. Very frustrating. I have $600 tied up in these tickets! What will happen if I can't get a hold of Volaris?? Too bad so sad? Will they make good and issue a voucher? i know I am not the only one in this situation. Is volaris willing to lose A LOT of customers over the way they handled the COVID-19 issue? Most of us are asking for vouchers to use in the future. I wanted to keep my business with you, Volaris. But the way this is panning out.... You are going to lose A LOT of customers. You are leaving a bad taste in people's mouths. I had heard the bad customer service stories about Volaris from other people. I have always been the "I've never had a problem with them" person. But now, I will be the "don''t do business with them" person. You are showing that the bad customer service stories are indeed true based on how you are handling this COVID-19 issue. At the very least they really should just be issuing vouchers for future use to all the emails they collected at the time of your ticket purchase. That would free up their phone lines for those that bought their tickets in person and didn't provide an email. Volaris suffers from incredibly bad leadership. Standing in the gate area at the Tijuana Airport waiting to board as I write this review. Flight was scheduled to leave at 9:12 from Gate 6. The gate was changed to Gate 9 (opposite concourse)without an announcement. Now departure time is 10 due to late flight crew. We've been standing in an area going through renovation with few seats to relax. I realize there are uncontrolled delays but Volaris needs to get their act together. We were here on time as "required" and expect the airline to do the same. BTW, using the CBX was a great experience and I highly recommend it. Finally, on board. Waiting for a refund 21 days, called on day 14 to check status they said it was in process. Today is day 40, and I need to wait another 7-21 days because someone made a mistake and didn't submit my refund. Now I am responsible of paying interest to my credit card for their mistake, eventhough I was constantly checking and following up on the status. They weren't willing to expedite the refund nor compensate for equal value of interest incurred. Volaris is a thief!!!! I had to cancel my trip a couple of times last year due to travel restrictions. Upon making a reservation with the vouchers/credits I come to find out that they are expired as of January 22, 2021! I wasn't given any information stating that they would expire 6 months later. There's no one on the other line that sympathizes or gives a damn. All personnel are supervisors so to speak. Last December I flew from Mexico City to Tijuana, upon check-in via the computers they had available, my check-in kept saying error... my friend was able to check-in via the computer but I wasn't and we were doing it simultaneously. We walked to the check-in kiosk for help and they said he could board but I couldn't. I had to buy another ticket. The worst service I have ever received they don't care about the customer . I had a flight for vacation and where i was going had a hurricane so whole island was damaged and I tried to cancel my flight 2 weeks before my flight and they told me there was nothing they could do . Volaris is always our go-to Mexican airline. It's inexpensive and convenient. We typically fly out of TJ and I've never had an issue. I have a 4 month old (lap child)and they let us travel with a stroller at no additional charge which is such a life saver especially when having to transport your carry-on bags. I would definitely recommend buying snacks before your flight because they charge for everything and it could get a little pricey. read more

Bad service. We arrived at the airport 2.5 hours prior to and the lady at the counter advised the flight had been closed. Our flight was at 9:45am and was changed to 3:15pm. We were traveling due to family passing. Upon waiting at airport, I get a text to enjoy my 9:45am flight. Never again will we fly Volaris read more
