Worst airline EVER! This review is long over due. We booked a vacation to Cancun through Expedia and flights were through Interjet from Tijuana. We arrive to Tijuana on the day of our vacation travel to find out they no longer fly out of that airport. There was no one to assist. Expedia was no help. They tried getting ahold of them and couldn't get answers. Horrible communication. We ended up buying flights out of there through another airline for a crazy amount on the day of. I eventually just settled with Expedia since they used them as a third party provider and we got their travel insurance but I stopped using Expedia because of them and will never fly interjet in my life! read more

WARNING!!!!!!!!! Interjet will not let you board if you don't arrive 40 minutes in advance. Anytime after, you're shit out of luck. And, you'll have trouble catching another flight out to your destination. My trip was to Cancun and unfortunately having a terrible time trying to find another flight out. I think this airline is hit or miss. The main problem is delays. They use the southwest model where they try to turn around the plane immediately after landing, but if there is a delay, it can cause significant problems. I went form Tijuana to Mexico City, it was a few minutes late leaving, but pretty much arrived on time. The seats on the plane are not the best, seem kinda old. The snack provided is fine, you get a bottled drink and choice of chips. read more

Great airline. Southwest airlines of Mexico. Fares are cheap. They changed my return flight but we're very good at contacting me and getting me the best flight out of Mexico City. Some layover but for the price I realized I could have paid up for less layover. Staff is great. Plans were clean and small. Lol. Cramped and cramped but it was clean and the staff was great and free drinks and chips. Lol it's the little things. I have no problems using this airlines again. read more

Interjet Manager Marco Aguilar Interjet Employee Teresa Fonseca The manager and employee were extremely unprofessional and kept contradicting each other. I told them I went on their website and it says Interjet's own website where it states that Interjet is the only Mexican airline which allows you in its international and domestic destinations to check up to 110 lbs of luggage per passenger... and no where do you see "but" or "unless you have a ultra light" etc (picture attached). They told me to learn how to read and that I should NOT rely on checking on Interjet website for baggage information because it may be an OLD website and that the agency is responsible for telling you how many bags you can check in but the agency email instructs you to check with your airline for allowed baggage and I not only checked on their website, google, but also entered in my confirmation code to view exactly how many I could check in but there is no information about how many bags are allowed and you do not get the option to pay for bags so it is another reason to think you get it for free. Marco and Teresa then asked me to pull up my boarding pass and pointed out to me within a barcode that it said Ultralight which they said means no checked baggage allowed and they told me to learn how to read. I repeat, the manager on duty told me to LEARN HOW TO READ. That sums up Interjet, their professionalism, and customer service. On top of it all, I asked for their name and told Marco that he is not behaving as how a professional manager should behave and Teresa then threatened to cancel my flight for saying that. I got threaten to have my flight canceled for saying that they are not professional and trick their customers. I left the check-in kiosk and when it was time to board the flight, Teresa came straight to my husband and I and forced us to pay for a carry-on luggage that she said was too heavy without even having a scale with her! She said I could not take out anything and that we had to pay a bag bc it was over 10kg. She purposely came to attack us and single us out for revenge. The seats are a little farther apart than many other airlines, making them more comfortable - and many flights include complimentary in-flight drinks and snacks (which might be why they cost a little more than airlines that charge for every little thing extra). I would rate the airline higher but on the first time I flew with this airline, BOTH flights were delayed. read more

Paid for Optimal tickets, instead of "Light", so I could choose my own seats. The system didn't allow us to choose seats, instead we were forced to sit next to the toilet and breathe in the smell of 200 people's waste. I paid more than $100 for the "upgrade". I called customer service 5 times, was very polite, but each time was transferred back to the telephone cue. Nobody took responsibility. I feel ripped off by this airline. They cancelled my flight a week before the flight date and then schedule me a terrible replacement without even giving me options so when calling they're customer service number and waiting for about one hour they are rude and don't even try to help. I had a flight from Havana to Mexico City on March23rd, changed planes for my final leg to Tijuana. Interjet put my bag on a flight to Cancun rather than Mexico City therefore my bag did not make it back with me. Interjet could not deliver to my home in the US because they could not clear customs with it. After 5 days, I had to drive to the border catch a cab to the airport retrieve my bag catch another cab to the border crossing and drive home with my bag. I have tried emailing, and phone calls with no response on receiving compensation for my inconvenience. Their customer service is truely substandard. I have waited on the phone several time for over 2 hours.Today is May 16 still no response from Interjet. read more

Completely unprofessional, not everyone lives in Tijuana and is able to just drive over there to the airport, I drove from LA to Tijuana and my flight was at 7:35 in the morning and I had to find out with a couple of other people that the flight had been canceled 2 hours before. Did not give me or anyone a notice, we all called to see what was happening since no workers arrived for interjet. Also, I called customer service to request a refund, I accidentally pressed on the option to "buy a ticket" and immediately I get an answer until I explain my situation and I get put on hold for about 40 minutes. Interjet utterly sucks! Yesterday there was a fire in Otay. Because of it the CBX (the border bridge that takes you to the Tijuana airport) was closed. As a result the San Diego passengers could not make their flights. Interjet would not put us in other flights. To book another one way ticket they would charge more than what I paid for the two way ticket. On top of that they do not have a counter like the other lines in San Diego and were terrible responding on the phone to figure what to do. Will never fly again with them. read more

I am writing this review on behalf of my family. DO NOT FLY THIS AIRLINE. We booked our flight months ago, and while there were mixed reviews, we figured it was just because when people are upset, that is when they write a review. But believe ALL the bad reviews. We scheduled to fly out on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at 9 am PST. But we received a call at 6 pm PST, on Friday June 21, 2019 stating that our flight had been cancelled. While Interjet did offer us another flight, it was for Sunday, June 23, 2019. Which caused us to lose a whole day, in our resort. Also, because we received the call so late, we had already boarded our dog. So, between the resort and boarding our dog, we have lost $290.00 USD, at this point. On Sunday, June 23, 2019; our flight from Tijuana to Mexico City, boarded on time, at 12:20 pm PST, but we were kept in the air for 1 hour longer, due to weather conditions, circling close to the Mexico City airport. Because of this delay, we had to run from one gate to the other, as our flight was scheduled to board in just 7 minutes. But our flight was delayed for 4 hours! We did not receive any food or compensation for this delay. We had to scramble to contact the resort and our ground transportation, yet again! We did not arrive to Cancun until 12:30 am CST, Monday, June 24, 2019! We did not arrive at our resort until 1:30 am CST! So we are now at a loss of $540.00 USD! On our return flight, on Saturday, June 29, 2019; we arrived at the airport at 7 am CST. The flight, which was set to board at 9:00 am CST and leave at 9:50 am CST is already DELAYED! We did not leave Cancun until 10:30 am CST and arrived in Mexico City at 12:30 pm CST. Once there, we see that our flight is delayed, by 1 hour. But that delay would be followed by delay after delay. And our gate was changed 3 times. Each time, the woman at the gate kept telling us that there was no flight crew available. The same reason given at the beginning of the day. Our flight got pushed back all the way to 10:00 pm CST, and then was pushed back again, at 8 pm CST! At this point, there are 95 of us, who have all suffered delays to and from our various locations. There are elderly people in Wheelchairs who have gone hours without their prescribed medications, because they had to check them. There are babies who are sick and have gone without their checked medication, or are running low on diapers and formula! Enough, was enough. My husband and I approached the gate and insisted that they do something. So they finally offered food vouchers, after a 6 hour delay! But the vouchers were for a Deli, that served small portions and mostly meat sandwiches. What about those on restrictive diets? Because we are Vegans, we could not accept the Voucher. As was the case with many of the travelers. We went back and demanded something else be done, that they get us a flight crew, ASAP; because 8 travelers recounted having to sleep on the floor, in the airport, overnight on their previous flight! Interjet finally got a flight crew and we left the Airport at 12:15 am CST, on Sunday, June 30, 2019! We arrived in Tijuana at 3:15 am PST. And now I have been on the phone for 2 hours, on hold, trying to get our compensation for our total loss of $640.00 USD. They insist that all I am entitled to is a free round trip flight, on Interjet. WHY WOULD I EVER FLY INTERJET AGAIN? According to Mexico law, this is what should be done: "* If the delay is more than four hours or cancelled and the airline must reimburse the full airfare and give customers compensation of no less than 25% of the original ticket price, or provide substitute transportation on its first available flight. If a passenger has to wait overnight for that flight the airline will have to provide passengers with access to meals, lodging and ground transportation to and from the airport." "REIMBURSE (OR REFUND) THE FULL AIRFARE AND GIVE CUSTOMERS COMPENSATION OF NO LESS THAN 25% OF THE ORIGINAL TICKET PRICE" This, is what I want, a refund, NOTHING ELSE. And I don't even want a full refund. I am willing to meet you half way, on our $1400 tickets! But they are unwilling to comply. I recorded the event and took pictures! We took Flight 2408 from Cancun to Tijuana with a layover in Mexico city. The flight to Tijuana was delayed by an hour. When I arrived home, I noticed my bag had been opened and searched, items were stolen. We attempted to call Interjet numerous times to report the theft and they just kept transferring us. I don't recommend this airline at all, stay far away from them. If there are any issues, you have no one to turn to. My only saving grace was that I bought the total protection plan. read more

The flight itself wasn't an issue. The issue was everything leading up to the flight! Interjet has literally NO customer service over the phone. If you attempt to call them you'll be on hold forever and eventually hung up on. It was a NIGHTMARE. I booked a trip to Cancun through Expedia and there was a last minute flight change through Interjets end. I confirmed through Expedia that I accepted the change and received an email that no further action was needed. I didn't have much other option but to accept the flight change as interjet was impossible to reach. Fast forward about a month later and 48 hours before my trip there is NO boarding pass. Odd. I call Expedia and this WHOLE process took over 4 hours to fix. Interjet had not reissued our tickets after the flight change. If I hadn't called to see what was going on I would have arrived at the airport with no tickets and lost ALL the $ I paid for this trip. I had tried calling Interjet FIRST since they are the ones that issue the boarding passes but with no luck continually being on hold for hours/hung up on while on hold I gave up and tried Expedia. Expedia although took forever connected with Interjet and was able to reinstate my ticket and walk me through how to get my boarding passes. I have to give one star zero stars if I could because this was such a stressful, unprofessional experience. The nonexistent customer service on interjets end astonished me. You can't even get ahold of them. On top of that- my flight was delayed right before I was suppose to arrive making it a huge time crunch because I had a connecting flight with a short layover. My connecting flight also through interjet was delayed- SO unprofessional but ended up working out. And my flight was changed a month before as I stated previously to include a total of over 15 hours in layovers on the way back home. When I booked the layover was 2 1/2 hours. That's a HUGE difference. The airline itself has nice staff and roomy seats. You aren't cramped together. If I didn't deal with such a mess at the beginning I would actually fly with this airline more often but after this experience, this will be my last flight. read more

I booked a flight in July to go to Cancun early October as I was advised the weather would be cooling down and the rain would not be starting quite yet. As we have had hurricanes on the east coast and our vacation was planned -I went to look at the weather- RAIN with THUNDERSTORMS every day leading up to our departure. I went through Justfly to book the tickets and I called Interjet to see if we could adjust the dates or change destinations. I was advised that I needed to go through JustFly to do this. After getting off the phone with JustFLy Interjet will charge a penalty to change dates only not destinations for $173.00 per passenger and any additional cost to rebook. I have ordered well over 100 flights online and this has never happened to be before. Furthermore, even if the error was *MY ERROR* -- what company insists on charging $70 to change an $89 flight just one minute after the error was caught. The name of the supervisor that I spoke with is Antonio Conchas - he was professional and apologetic. However, unwilling to change his company's policy of STEALING MONEY from it's customers. (I booked two other flights with Interjerk .. and didn't have any problem - although it did tend to switch back and forth from English to Spanish and Peso to USD quite often which was a bit offputting... ) I own an internet business - so believe me, I know how to get around a website and place an order for a flight... and YES, bugs can get into a system for sure. However, I would NEVER imagine charging my customers $70 to correct the error. These guys don't even pretend to not know this exists either. "Sir, you checked the box agreeing to our crappy terms"... Yeah, well, I didn't know that you changed the date on me behind my back. This is FRAUDULENT business practices. I don't know if Mexico has class action lawsuits or not - but if they do, please feel free to contact me and I'm happy to join in. Interjet - when you finally do get your head out of your butt - please consider refunding my $70 along with your letter of apology. If I could give no stars I would go for that in a heartbeat! This airline sucks. We checked our bags in and went through the entire process of getting checked and our baggage just to be told to walk all the way back to the front to begin the process all over again as they assign you flights super late in the day. I get that they have no control over weather but if they have been having issues you would think they'd be courteous enough to notify ahead of time. Not because I'm being petty but because flights delayed on the daily. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but I should've gone with a different airline. First they said we would be an hour delayed then it turned to 2 hours. It quickly turned in to and entire day before you can catch a flight. If I didn't work and hadn't made prior arrangements I wouldn't be so irritated but the fact that I had to ask for this time off and expected a different experience I am beyond disappointed. If you have traveled to Cancun you know how expensive it gets so it's very aggravating to miss a day of the expensive trip. Grant it I am not a pilot in any shape or form but how is it that everyone else flights seem to be boarding and taking off accordingly except Interjet? Super upset and will be contacting bookit.com as well for the horrible referral to this terrible airline. We booked out flights on 3/24/19, plenty of time we thought. Flight was to leave on Friday 11/8 at 10:30 from LAX to Cancun and the return flight was on 11/11 from Cancun to LAX. The flights were Cancelled with NO notification. There were 6 coworkers going from LAX to Cancun for Work. NOT TO mention I was on the phone for 5 hours and 7 dropped calls, the original agents give you phone numbers that do not work. Cheap flight with baggage included however waited on tarmac 6 hours due to "bad weather" at destination. There was not any inclement weather, most likely other reasons that the airline may be held accountable to, if admitted. These lengthy delays seem to be commonplace with Interjet-be aware if time is important for other flights, work, etc. If you can afford to miss a connecting flight or hang out for 6+ hours, this might be a decent flight for you. read more

After having a family issue we realized we wouldn't be able to make our previously booked trip to Peru. The associate we spoke to told us we could transfer the value of the flight towards a future flight as long as it was booked before the original flights day of departure. We decided to book a trip to Cancun in February instead. When we called our original flights value was $1,863.47. We realized we could book a priority flight to Cancun for $1,882 so we'd pay the penalties and pay an extra $20. The representative suggested we fly economy vs priority because the penalty would be only $67 per ticket vs $217 per ticket. The economy flight for the four of us would be $863 so we'd lose $1,000 dollars on the value of the flight but only pay $268 on the penalties vs $868. Then after suggesting we do that the representative said we couldn't because the flight we replaced it with needed to be of the same value or more. Basically we were told we'd have to pay the $868 if we wanted to go even when I told them you could book a new flight with their current promos for $584. So all in all they got me for $1,863.47 and tried to get more. We didn't transfer the money and I hope they enjoyed being unhelpful and screwing over the customers because we will never fly with them again. read more

Great airline! We crossed the boarder using the new CBX (cross boarder express) bridge directly into the Tijuana airport, checked our free luggage, enjoyed the extra spacious legroom, free snacks and beverages, and even arrived I'm Mexico City early! We will definitely fly with them again...AND this was cheaper than another discount airline that now charges for every little thing (checked and carry-on luggage, snacks, drinks...) Interjet is so much nicer! Walking over the bridge makes flying out of TJ so easy now, and much more affordable than leaving from San Diego. read more

Please read reviews before booking. This was my very first time book any flight, I booked this flight June 10, 2017. I then receive an email that the flight has been changed to another airport and they did not have any other flight at the original airport I had originally booked it at. Therefore I had no choice but to cancel on Oct. 24, 2017 I then got report case number told me it will take 15-20 business days. Time passes no refund I call back Nov. 27, 2017 they tell me it is in process. I also send an email see if I can get more information then just it's in process but they said I need to call. I wait another 2 week call back Dec. 11,2017 on top of being on hold for 30 minutes Rafael in looking into the case number he puts me on hold for 10 minutes just to come back tell me it is being processed at this point I am extremely frustrated and ask to speak to supervisor or manager. He then tells me the only manger Javier Mendez is available but only speak Spanish so I said ok I speak a little bit of Spanish pass me to him. He then comes up with the excuse that he is busy for the next 20 minutes. So I ask if I can provide my number he can call me back he takes my number down and said he will not call. Then I asked why did you take my number down if he is not going to call. His response was he was updating my information when that's the only number I have. I have no idea what to do for this company give me back my refund. Please anyone else out there please be careful with this company! Left a book on the plane. They dont have lost and found in airport (only Volaris does). I returned next day to pick up book. Had to wait in documentation line to ask about ny book. Was told they had it but to return in 1 hour. Returned to find different personnel that knew nothing of what I was talking about. Manager walked back to some room to check about my book. He took 1 hour to get back-- without my book. It was a giant photography book gifted by my cousin. Interjet you suck. read more

We flew InterJett for the first time, my cousin made the reservation and we travelled from TJ to Merida in Mexico. Not only was it a great price but unlike Aeromexico who almost ruined our trip 3 years ago by cancelling the flight a week or less before departure and made us have 13 hour layover in Mexico City this company never changed the flight it was on time and it is so spacious! Lots of leg room! Only thing is they don't serve any food not even for sale so you need to bring your own. They provide snacks and drinks even beer free! Friendly personnel and wheelchair service for my mom was excellent all the way I Recomend this airline 100%!!! Also I forgot they allow TWO 50lb suitcases per person plus the usual carry on and purse or laptop. Way easier check in at airport patient and nice personnel all around! Made this long trip a pleasure. Only problem was delays in Mexico City because of fog but that was all airlines and not their fault read more
