Came here for a birthday after receiving a discount deal in the mail. The way the deal was written was very confusing and poorly worded. It made it sound like you could not use the 50% off of sushi, but anything else was fine. Turns out there was no 50% discount at all. It was just referring to 50% off sushi days on Wednesday. There was a long wait to be seated. We were seated with another family. The chef tried to be entertaining for the first 5 minutes, but then did nothing else the rest of the time. So that was very disappointing. He did not do the "egg roll," he had trouble stacking the onions to make the "train" and so he just gave up and cut the piece out that he couldn't stack, didn't toss anything onto his hat. So really none of the traditional entertainment you would expect. In addition, anytime there was extra food after he divided it around the table, he would only give it to the other family. I was also disappointed that the fried rice was an additional charge. That is a staple of hibachi restaurants. I'm curious if no one ordered fried rice at the table, would that entire "entertainment" portion be cut out? I have not been to another hibachi restaurant where fried rice wasn't automatic as it was included in part of the entertainment (think "egg roll," heart shaped rice...sometimes with a heartbeat, etc.). Also, the steamed rice was terrible! It was too sticky and tasted gross. I never leave food on my plate at hibachi restaurants, but the rice was inedible. In my opinion he also cooked the meat in the wrong order. He cooked the steak first, which is the fastest and easiest to cook, then the shrimp, and the chicken which takes the longest to cook was last. Which meant that by the time I was almost done eating my steak, my wife was still waiting on her chicken. On a positive note, the meat was flavorful and tasted great. Unfortunately, the salad was too soggy and the soup had macaroni in it which was weird. Service was good. But overall, the experience was severely underwhelming. First timers - we had a really great dine-in experience! We were craving sushi and randomly picked something close by. It's located in a fairly busy plaza but they have additional parking behind the building as well. We were greeted by a hostess and sat immediately. Our server Candra was such a delight! He was super friendly, wearing a smile, and very attentive. To our surprise, we showed up on a Wednesday and the had 50% off sushi rolls. We had no idea! We tried the gyoza, miso soup, shrimp tempura, angry dragon, and volcano California roll. Everything was great and really delicious! Perfect lunch. We are excited to go back and bring the rest of the family. Fun perk - they have robots deliver your meals to your table. So fun! My kids would love that. They also serve hibachi! They were having a slow day when I was there, but their food was really good. It was well prepared. The service was ultra good and the ambience was very good too. It was a nice noise level. I'm on a hibachi takeout kick and I can't seem to shake it lately. Clear hibachi soup, salad with the ginger dressing, fried rice upgrade, and veggie hibachi is my jam at lunch time. I've been scouring UberEats for the best hibachi lunch and let me tell you, fam: this ain't it. Why? 1) my Japanese clear soup/hibachi soup/onion soup tasted like like straight up Lipton powdered pack brought to underwhelming life by hot water. Furthermore, there were noodles(?) in my soup. I've never once had hibachi soup with noodles. This soup was an entire disappointment on a cold, drizzly December day. 2) the salad dressing served with the hibachi lunch was deeply mayonnaise-based, overpowering any essence of ginger that may have been in the recipe. It felt like they were using the "pink sauce"/ Yum Yum sauce that is served with the hibachi dish itself. 3) veggie hibachi with upgrade to fried rice was entirely lackluster. Heavy on the mushrooms and inconsistent textures to the veggies. The mushrooms tasted as if it had a hint of fish, which doesn't bode well for a vegetarian lunch. Half of the onions were soggy, half were so undercooked, I'd ward off a first kiss on a bad date. Barely any zucchini or broccoli. Just a mushy, crunchy, fishy mess. After rage eating my nearly $30 takeout for one after delivery fee and tips, I pulled a short black hair out of my mouth. Given no one in my house has short black hair, I can only guess it came from one of my last bites of the food. Either way, all this to say, there are plenty hibachi spots in the area that are way better than any of the crummy, super sub-par menu items here. read more

Chef Stanley was great. Very entertaining! 2 1/2 stars. The negatives were; The yum yum sauce tasted like a cheap knock off. The ginger sauce was so watered down it was hard to eat the salad. The steak was not as good as we expected. The chicken was just ok, the fried rice was also just ok. The shrimp however were flavorful and tasty. Great for kids as chef Stanley was VERY entertaining. I've been here a few times now and have been pretty happy with food, drinks and service. Last time was just for drinks while waiting on some other engagements but I didn't realize I haven't written a review yet so here goes. Their menu (both food and cocktails) is pretty extensive so there is something for everyone. The restaurant is divided into 3 areas - sushi, bar, and hibachi and there is also a patio. Plenty of parking if not out front, you can always park behind the restaurant. I usually get lychee martinis and sushi here and they have brown rice option, which I'm a sucker for. The interior is pretty nice, especially for a strip mall restaurant, with unique touches throughout. Bathrooms are very clean, and I can't help it but I always feel like I'm walking on leather. Their floor tiles kind of look like leather strips sewn together. Definitely give it a try if you are in the area and craving sushi. read more

Steeply overpriced if you opt for takeout. Paid $70 for an extremely small portion of chicken fried rice and 3 small sushi rolls. Expected enough to feed a family of 4 and it wasn't even enough for the two kids. If you get hibachi, there's literally only one guy that does a good job so better ask for him by name. If you get table service, the customer service is usually mediocre at best. This place was previously a frequent go to, but it's been slacking pretty hard as of late. Hello 2021! My first review of the year!! I have driven past this restaurant countless times. I said I was going to stop and just never seem to. Well 12/31/2020 was the night. Lol! This is in a decent shopping center. Parking is not an issue some spots up front and plenty in the back. There are several businesses connected. Love the interior design of the restaurant. Sorry no pics. You can dine in right now. It didn't look spaced out. Employees were wearing masks. Friendly employees. We ordered to go. Takeout you place your order, pay, return to your car, and receive a call when your food is ready. Not bad. We wanted something simple to eat before the new year. We both got the Volcano Combo rice that comes with chicken, steak, and shrimp. I also ordered the Angry Dragon roll. It was spicy tuna, avocado and shrimp tempura topped with spicy crab and eel sauce. The food was soo good. The roll was pretty good. I ate every piece. Lol. I had some sake at home to drink with it. The Wasabi and ginger was fresh as were the sushi ingredients. The Combo rice had a really good flavor. The shrimp were medium size as were the chunks of chicken and steak. There was a good ratio of rice to meat in the rice dish. I would definitely order both again. I also want to try some of the other sushi rolls. Wednesday is half off sushi at this location only. FYI, if your a fan of sushi. Think that is the day I go back to try a few with friends. Not a bad location. Staff was friendly and helpful explaining menu and keeping the crowd moving. Not a bad place for Hibachi. The good: the food tasted good, and the skill of the hibachi chef was matched only by his humor. It's a great show, and he was fun and courteous. The decor is chic and attractive. They have free Wifi. The so-so: Service was okay. I waited a few times for a drink refill. Parking can also be tough at peak times. There is plenty of parking further out if you don't mind walking. Some of the servers and workers there seem pretty sullen, while others are clearly glad to be there. Probably like most any other place. It's loud. Really loud. I had a hard time conversing with anyone in my party. Not the end of the world, but this isn't the place to come for conversation. My family & I were in the area and decided to stop in for an early dinner on Saturday. We were surprised to find out there was a 45 minute wait for a hibachi table at 6pm. So we opted to sit on the other side of the restaurant with regular tables because there was no wait and we could still order from the hibachi menu. I ordered the chicken hibachi with fried rice ($2.99 upcharge) the meal started with onion soup & a salad with ginger dressing. The soup was so flavorful and very good. The salad not so much. Not sure why the reviews for this place aren't higher! My husband and I went here spur of the moment on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate my birthday! I was skeptical about trying this place bc of the mixed reviews, but I am so glad we did!! It was an awesome experience. This was my first time ever at a Hibachi restaurant like this where they prepare the food in front of you. And I loved it. It wasn't crowded at all, I assume traffic picks up during dinner hours and definitely on different days. But our Chef was amazing! I hate I didn't catch his name but he was friendly, quick, and entertaining. He made my birthday special. He even made me a balloon hat to wear during dinner lol. He did a couple of cool tricks too! All of the food was amazing! So tasty and delicious and hot! I loved that their hibachi comes with so much already. It comes with a salad and soup and your choice of side, and two complementary shrimp from the grill. There is an up charge for fried rice or noodles. But it was worth it the fried rice was amazing. The soup and salad both were really good as well, especially the soup it was extremely tasty. Then the Chef came and prepared the fried rice, meat and veggies. All delicious!! The portion size is also great. We left stuffed! Their drinks from what we could tell weren't bad either. My husband had an Old Fashioned and it was definitely heavy on the bourbon! Lol I just had a glass of wine which was pretty good I just felt it was a little pricey for an 8oz glass , it was $10. The service was good. No issues there. There was a bit of a wait for the Chef to come over and start cooking but they give you the soup and salad while you wait! And of course drinks. Finally, if you celebrate your birthday here they send out a cake on this cute singing robot cart. It was a surprise and really cute! Then they play a birthday song over the loud speakers lol so no live singing to you which I liked bc that can be awkward lol The cake itself however was disgusting lol but I won't hold that against them bc I'm sure it's not their specialty. Got there right after 9 pm after checking their hours which stated they closed at 10. These hours were also posted on a sign on their front door. We were seated promptly and our server was very attentive and polite. However, after ordering, we heard a woman working the counter refuse to let a customer enter stating that they close at 9:30. We apologized to our server and told him we had checked the hours and saw they closed at 10 and he said their hours were different "because of the CDC". By 10 pm, they were cleaning all around us and putting chairs on top of the tables. Around 10:15 they started turning the lights off and then a man (not our server)came up to us and said "you go now" This was our second time there and didn't have great time service the first time either, so next time we'll go to sushiology. Edited to say after the owner's response: There was NO "deep cleaning" going on. Chairs on top of the tables, then workers watching us eat. If you want to close at 9:30, close at 9:30, just don't blame it on the CDC. We were in the mood for hibachi and figured it would be hard to mess the order up. We ordered to go on the grubhub site. The restaurant is nice, the décor is lovely and seems to be a great place to dine in at. The staff was friendly when we picked the food up. Both my husband and I ordered the Shrimp Hibachi, we ordered fried rice with our meals which was a extra $2.95 each and I ordered a side of Hibachi Salmon. My step son had the shrimp fried rice. I wanted to give this place a high rating but not only was it the most expensive Hibachi I have had in my life, but it was also very mediocre. The fried rice that we paid extra for was nasty, not sure why it had a strange after taste but I ended up not even eating the rice. The shrimp, salmon and veggies were decent and the yum yum sauce was delicious and made the meal taste better. The ginger dressing for the salad that came with our meals was very good as well. My step son said he liked his shrimp fried rice. Unfortunately, Volcano Steak & Sushi does not make my list of good Hibachi spots in the area. I doubt I will order food from here again. read more

Our cups stayed empty and any refill or request was shown as such an inconvenience....believe me if I could go to the kitchen and grab my own soy sauce and water I would have ! 2.) They sat my family of SEVEN with a family of SIX so two of guests were sitting literally behind the chef and had no view of the "show" I have been a Volcano customer for years and this has been the worst location by far. We went here with a group of people. Not enough seating close to the grill, so we couldn't truly enjoy the experience. The chef gave the scraps to us at the end and the people in the main seats got plenty and even left over pieces. The table was sticky and not cleaned from the last group. The chef got my order wrong for my steak, so I ended up with a medium and not medium-rare steak. I couldn't correct him on the order because first he never turned to me, he kept his back to us and entertained the group in front of him and also because he wouldn't have been able to hear me anyways with all the noise. The food was mediocre, I didn't even want the leftovers but I thought my dog might like the steak. We thought it was really tacky that they began clearing the table before we even completed paying for the bills. I know that we won't be back.
