April 19, 2011, I purchased a 2011 Volkswagon Jetta S black exterior and black interior at Volkswagon Pasadena. My first visit to Volkswagon Pasadena was initially on April 18, 2011. Jacob Omar greeted my boyfriend and I upon parking. Jacob Omar is not the most knowledgable Volkswagon salesman, indirect and difficult to understand but is welcoming, attentive, humerous, hard working, will get excited with you and is genuinely a good person. I currently had a 2002 Ford Ranger with an outstanding balance of $6,000 and according to Kelly Blue Book my 2002 Ford Ranger is worth $3,300 but Volkswagon Pasadena offered $4,200. Leasing or purchasing I was direct in regards to the monthly payments and $0 down payment I was interested in. John, the Sales Manager started the negotiation by lying and increasing the invoice price an additional $700. I was opposed to the high payments of $371 a month on a 10,000 mile lease or $340 a month and a $750 down payment. My boyfriend and I could not engage in John's childish behavior any longer and left him to text on his cell. April 19, 2011, I received a phone call from Jacob advising me of two wholesalers willing to offer more than the $4,200 on my 2002 Ford Ranger. A wholersaler purchased my 2002 Ford Ranger for the $4,200 and the Volkswagon Pasadena settled on $318 a month, a $600 down payment and a 4.8 interest rate. Erik Vatche of the finance department helped Jacob Omar in closing my deal and made our experience pleasant. Erik Vatche of the finance department only upsold GAP Insurance for an additional $6 a month. Post Research I received the lowest price on a 2011 Volkswagon Jetta S. My 2011 Volkswagon Jetta S includes a three year warranty, oil changes and road side assistance. read more

I was distraught, too, when I read the other reviews, but to give some encouragement to the staff and other people going, here was my experience. I walked in with a friend wanting to test-drive a GTI and was concerned that we wouldn't be able to (not to make any statements, but... we're Asian and look young). Contrary to expectations - we were. The person assisting us was courteous, very informative, and even suggested that we test-drive the car on the highway after we were on the road. My experience here has lived-up to the stereotypical "dealer" reputation; that is they do good work but pricing is way outside the average. I have had a few mechanical issues repaired by the folks here (only when no other option was available). They did first rate repairs. However....the margin on parts is somewhere between 85% and 90%. Kind of unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, I was glad they were there to help fix the problem. But when I saw how much they (over) charged me on parts, I reaffirmed my policy of avoiding the dealer at all costs. There are so many reasonable, high quality mechanics with great customer service around Pasadena, there really is no reason to give VW Pasadena your business. read more

They filled the tank before I left. They couldn't detail the car because it was getting late but told me that I could bring it back in soon to get detailed. Long overdue review. I have been coming to the service/parts department here since 2012 when I bought my GTI, and the service/parts team at VW Pasadena is definitely one of the best. I like working on my car, so I generally perform all standard maintenance on my own, but I like that I can depend on the service/parts team at VW Pasadena when some sort of a non-maintenance issue pops up that I don't have the time/don't want to deal with. Over the years they have taken care of warranty issues, alignments, random part failures, etc., and I've always felt that everything was resolved in a timely and professional manner. For items not covered under warranty, the costs were always reasonable. There were also times in the past when I purchased parts not knowing that they were actually covered under warranty. After completing the repair on my own, my usual service advisor, Clair, told me that I should actually try filing a warranty claim since the part was covered. I followed the process and got a full refund directly from VWoA. Most recently, I had another extremely positive experience working again with Clair and techs Danny and Juan on an issue I was having difficulty diagnosing on my own. Norman in the Service Dept went above and beyond when I had my 2004 Jetta in last month for the timing belt and water pump. He took me back to show me what was being done, what needed to be done and what might need attention in the future. At no point did he try to pressure me into unnecessary repairs. Volkswagen of Pasadena really goes out of their way to make customers happy!! I was new to Volkswagen, and had to bring in my daughter's Certified Used Rabbit, (purchased at another dealership), in for service. They were extremely efficient in checking me in (Thank You Clair!) and when the Parts Manager noticed that I had been waiting for the shuttle van, he personally drove me home so as not to inconvenience me further. So nice! PLUS, the Service Manager gave me his card and apologized for the wait as well. They kept in constant contact with me and updated me on the progress they were making to fix the problem with the car, and then returned it to me at the promised date and time. I have never been treated like this at another dealership! I had written off ever buying any car that was not Japanese, because I believed that other dealers were not interested in delivering customer satisfaction and quality. Came in for an oil change.... Was told I needed $1500 worth of work. Yelper's warned me that I would be told I need a new battery and guess what ... I was told I need a new battery. Was told my car was next to be washed ...forty min ago. I am driving off in a filthy car . I waited as long as I could but still not ready, gotta go. Wendy the service rep was polite and friendly. She also made an effort to check in on me while I was waiting. I wish my car was clean that was a plus to coming here. What a let down. read more
