I had a terrible experience with the Pasadena Volkswagen Service Department. Poor communication from their front desk service team - late phone calls, incorrect information, and unwilling to help with a special request. I asked for a print out and was told to come back another day - for a print out. Spoke with the manager - Steve Ross - nice guy, but not able to help and not really in any position to make any changes. He just read off the same information and was just waiting for the interaction to end. They did not offer any concrete solutions or reasons. When I pointed out inconsistencies with the information I was told from Tom Andrews, Steve shrugged. I am not confident this Volkswagen Repair will do a good job. With a sales team right next door, it was my experience that the Volkswagen Pasadena Service Team are not interested in repairing, but selling. Shame. read more

I had to leave Pasadena Volkswagen because the finance guy Andrew Perez kept lying and forcing me to take a $2,000 car warranty for my purchase of a pre-owned certified car. I said no 25 times. He would not stop lying and pressuring me. I had to walk out. Then I talked with other managers who said they don't do this kind of cheating. Oh yes, they do. So my daughter's Jetta had a dead battery. Triple A came and jumped it, but it died again immediately. We had just recently had a code and a starter relay replaced at Glendale VW (a separate nightmare), so I was concerned with what else could be wrong with the car, aside from the battery, like maybe there's something wrong with the car that killed the battery? But since the battery was under a warrantee with AAA, we opted to get the FREE REPLACEMENT from AAA, obviously, and then I thought perhaps VW of Pasadena could give the car a proper once-over, since the people in Glendale seemed like lying liars who had the car for a week and all they did was replace a relay. Well, the guy at the service desk in Pasadena has very strong opinions about "club batteries" and how they fail within a couple of years. Well, that's nonsense, but he wouldn't just shut up and take my money to do some further investigation. This place is the worst, even worse than Glendale, and that's saying something. As time progressed we have noted the hood had damage on the paint job and later on found that the car was involved in a car accident that was not reported prior to us purchasing the vehicle. The icing on the cake is we haven't been able to renew our car registration with DMV over the last 2 years. VW Pasadena Business Office Rep has not been helpful AT all and when we talk to them it goes on deaf ears. She insinuated we were the ones with the problem and basically leave her alone and to deal with DMV.. DMV now told us it's the dealership's mishandling of the transaction. First of all, don't even bother going to any dealership in the city of Ontario, their VW dealership staff is garbage. Now to the important stuff. We initially called inquiring about a white Atlas Cross Sport for my wife that we had seen online. Long story short. Kevin Ho helped us over the internet to make sure they had the car in stock that we wanted to see. (He later called us to tell us that the car had been sold, before we was scheduled to come in) Jack Kalayjian was our sales man, he was knowledgeable and very friendly. Negotiations didn't drag on, their Sales Manager Michael Odjaghian was also very friendly and we got straight to work. We decided on an acceptable value for our trade-in and agreed on the purchase price for the new SUV. It didn't stop there, the Finance Manager Jamal Nada was also friendly and didn't try to upsell us any extended warranty. Granted he did mention it to us and the benefits of it, but ultimately it wasn't something that we wanted to purchase at the time. Overall the entire experience was very welcoming and we would highly recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a new or used car. Immediately upon calling, Tom was professional, polite, and walked me through all of my questions and options in detail. I called a different VW dealership right after to compare services, and the technician I spoke to there seemed like he wanted to get off the phone as fast as possible rather than help me out. I called this location back right away, and Tom said they would be able to get my vehicle serviced and returned within the same day if I brought it in early enough. Neither location I called had loaner vehicles available, but did offer Uber rides back-and-forth within a 10-mile radius. In person Tom was equally polite and helpful, and the vehicle servicing went as smoothly as I could have asked for. There were several small issues outside of the warranty that would have cost me, so I declined those options. Tom was not pushy in any way which I am also thankful for. Soooo... I had a few problems with my car (engine light + jerking) and tried to get a local mechanic to fix them. After 5 days, and lots of $$$ later, the mechanic couldn't get at the problem and the car wasn't running well. So I took it to the dealer (even though most people told me not to) and I was so happy with the outcome and service. Went in as a walk-in appt early in the morning (7:30am) on a Wednesday and hoped they could fix my car same day. Tip: if you don't have an appt, go early in the morning and they will likely get you in. The consultant I had, Tom, was super generous with his time and consideration. He explained the costs to diagnose, got me a Lyft home, called with updated info, and found the problem!! I had to pay some more money but to have peace of mind, it was totally worth it. Another tip: They have coupons for service so check their website. Saved 15% just by showing it! They even washed my car and picked me up with another Lyft so I could get back to the dealer. I brought my car in to fix a stalling issue a couple of weeks ago. They said it would likely be ready the next day since I brought it in late afternoon (which is totally fine). To start off, the person who was working on my car sent me a text detailing what was wrong with the car, and which services I would like to move forward with. Within 5 minutes, I responded to his text, saying I just wanted the stalling issue to be fixed (which required installing a sensor of some sort). Two days later, I haven't heard anything about my car so I call, and send a follow up text. Radio silence. I send another text and still nothing. Finally I get a hold of someone and ask for an update on my car, very politely, and she asks me if I ever responded to that guy's message. I told her that I did respond and she goes "oh he must not have read it..." excuse me ??? Nonetheless, I'm very kind and say that it's fine and I need my car fixed as soon as possible since I drive long distances during the week. I pick up my car...$700 later and im under the impression that the stalling issue is fixed. As im driving to San Diego, the car begins to stall on the freeway! scared the SH*T out of me of course as I was already an hour from home and still an hour from San Diego. I decide to drive back home *slowly* as the car continues to stall. I decide to call Volkswagen to see if I could talk to someone since my car is still stalling and I was told the sensor would remedy that. No answer. I call again to leave a voicemail. No answer. I call FOUR TIMES after that and leave ANOTHER voicemail and still no answer or call back !!! I am extremely frustrated with the service and lack of communication. As someone who works in customer service, this is unacceptable. Do better. read more

I'm updating my review from 1 to 2 stars after speaking to Martin. He was very understanding and showed utmost professionalism. But if you read below my experience I tried to explain the research I did and how I drove out of my way to try establish service with Pasadena VW. But alas despite the understanding of Martin I can't find myself returning. All said and done I'm sure my experience isn't a common one but one to keep in mind. Unfortunately I did not have a good experience as many others did. This experience was a sad dissatisfaction and waste of time. Let me start by saying I don't think I have many 1 star reviews. The first service for my leased Atlas is due. Unfortunately the dealership I lease from is pretty far away. I live closer to 3-4 other dealerships that I could have and should have gone to. But after reading a few positive reviews on Yelp I decided to drive a bit and see Clair. Right off the bat the experience was nothing to feel good about. I called and left a message for Clair and I mentioned in my voicemail that I found her through Yelp and I live almost 20 miles away so I'd like to go early and wait for the service so not to wait all day. After 2 days of not hearing back I tried using their text messaging system. Hours later I received a reply via text and apology for not responding sooner. (-1 star) As I mentioned I wanted to bring in my vehicle early and be the first serviced so I can simply wait around then leave. Their online scheduling system showed there there were earlier times and sooner but Clair said the earliest on the weekend would be on the following weekend. To me there's an issue if you automated system and your actual personnel are not in synch (-.1). The only slot available was 9:30 AM so I took it. I arrive on time and was greeted by someone and ask who my appointment was with in which I replied Clair. He informed me that she wasn't there today and someone else would be able to assist me. Well there goes the rest of the chance to build a a good relationship with a service advisor (-1). I wait 8 minutes and Tom comes up and asked me what time my appointment was. I informed him 9:30. There was no hello, good morning or any other pleasant greeting (-.5). Tom seemed very unhappy to be there. He asked for my information which I provided and I asked how long it would take today. He told me several hours but they are "several hours" behind and I should have scheduled earlier (-1). That was very frustrating to hear. I informed him I couldn't wait all day I had found them on Yelp and I live half an hour away. They should have been upfront about how long it would take. I informed TOM I couldn't stay and I would have to leave. He basically showed me which way to exit. I can't exaggerate how depressing his attitude was (-2). There was no further communications no offer of a rental car or apologies for running behind. I figured since they were "several hours behind" he was glad I left. As I pulled out of their lot, I pulled immediately over and called DTLA VW. I was hoping by chance they had an opening. But their next available was Wednesday. I'm updating my review as the service was finished in about an hour. You can read my review for that location. In the end, poor and failed communication, zero customer service and a horrible waste of time. I suspect they did not have an appropriate scheduling system and they were overbooking, which leads to frustration for the client. I write this truthfully and to let others know what can be expected. I'm glad I didn't buy or lease from here. I would have waited 3-4 hours if Tom was at all professional and understanding. read more

I had a Jetta that I got from another location in southern Cali a several years back, but after moving to Los Angeles a few years ago I started to take my car for service to Pasadena Volkswagen- and I was extremely happy with the customer service there - Angel also helped me out with excellent service. Yesterday I just got my new 2019 Jetta with the exceptional and fabulous help from John Kasbarian and Jamal Nada.
