I wanted to update my review from my prior "not so great" review from a couple of months ago. First of all, the manager of the dealership contacted me directly on the phone and met with me in person. He is a very genuine person, and really did try to make things right. He apologized for the rogue sales person that I encountered, and hopefully that was a one off situation. Everyone else I have ever dealt with at VW Pasadena have been kind and friendly. They walked me through the lease end process, and ultimately I decided to finance the remaining balance on my current car. They took care of that process quickly and with courtesy and respect. As for the tire issue, he did try to make it right by offering me replacement tires at cost. I still feel that VW generally could have done more. With maintenance records showing abnormal wear at 12k, that is really unacceptable for factory tires. Nonetheless, I don't just blame that on the dealership. I have to blame that on VW in general for the most part. All in all, with the current and past experiences, I am giving the all green light to this establishment. I was left in a bad position where needed to buy another car quickly and spoke with every VW dealer in the Los Angeles area. Obviously inventory is low and the other dealerships were all taking advantage of that, providing little help and a poor customer experience. Jack at VW Pasadena was such a breath of fresh air; he is honest, kind, responsive and didn't play games. I recently got into an accident which resulted in a total loss. I had my eyes set on the Tiguan. I was in search for a 2023 White SE R-Line and this was the only dealership that had it in stock. Here comes another great review for internet manager, Kevin Ho! I was shopping for a CPO Passat. It turned out that Pasadena had about four in stock that interested me. Kevin was calm and professional throughout the process. He was able to explain the confusing trim levels (LE vs. SE). The asking prices were on the high side, but there was some wiggle room on one of them. Agreed on a price via email, applied for credit on the dealer's website and got the .9% APR financing. Kevin picked me up at the Allen Gold Line Metro station. Car was exactly what I expected. Everything went very smoothly. Scott O'Donnell in Finance was super cool. Didn't push for add-on items. With everything possible done in advance, I was in and out pretty quickly. This is a good store. Many people have been here for years. I wanted to update my review to 4 stars because once Karl Zerrenner from VW Pasadena was made aware of the issue I had with my new car, he contacted me and got the problem fixed right away. I am so grateful. Six months I had been dealing with this problem and Karl stepped in and took care of things immediately. There WAS in fact an issue with the electric console. They replaced it and now it not only works great, it does things the previous console never did at all. Even the TIME didn't work on the previous one and yet they repeatedly insisted nothing was wrong with it. Anyway, while I am unhappy my issue was not taken seriously from the beginning, the service I have received since Karl stepped in has been fantastic. I let him know I was not comfortable with the service person I had been working with previously, so he suggested I work with Tom and he has also been wonderful to deal with. My miserable experience has now been turned into a good one and I am MUCH happier with my car. Probably because now it actually works! Thanks to Karl and team for making things right. Definitely the place to go for your next VW! We have been purchasing VWs now for over 10 years and have been to VW dealers from Orange County to Pasadena and everything in between. The thing we love the most about this dealership is quality. Have we found VWs cheaper at other dealerships? Yes. But they were not of the same quality. Every used car here has gone through a rigorous testing so much so that they are all certified preowned. So when you purchase your car you know you're not buying a lemon. You can find a cheaper car elsewhere but that's because it's not certified so there's no guarantee that something won't go wrong and if it does it wouldn't be covered. Here you don't have to worry about that. That's why it's great if they can't be a prize you have somewhere else they're upfront about it but they're also people of the word and stand by their product. You can tell you're working with first class salesman because their GM, Scott is top notch and only seems to hire those that aren't like your typical sales person. You won't be cheated, lied to or taken advantage of here. And if you're looking for an honest sales person ask for Andrew or Jorge. They were the salesman we worked with and we're absolutely amazing, honest. Not pushy and truly looked out for our best interest. And as far as service goes.
