A HUGE HUGE THANK YOU to service manager Martin Ramirez and his friendly team over at VW Pasadena! I initially went to VW Santa Monica for a standard oil change and was told that a recall was pulling up for my car and the airbag needed to be replaced. I had to drop off my car and after 48 hours I picked up my vehicle and immediately noticed the airbag was installed improperly to the point where you can visibly see the airbag coming out of the steering wheel(images attached). VW Santa Monica not only did not fix their mistake but refused to take any responsibility AND they also failed to tell me that my front breaks along with the coolant tank needed to be replaced. The only reason why I know this is because the technician (Paul) at Pasadena actually took the time to examine my car and notified me of what needs to be fixed. The whole point of this review is to just give praise to Volkswagen Pasadena for the excellent service that they provided me and I really have to thank you again Martin for turning this horrific incident that I experienced into a resolution! The sales person and financial manager used misleading claims in order to procure the sale of my car. I brought this to the general manager of the store, Scott, and instead of being cordial, he called me a liar to my face without verifying or double checking any information. I am many things, but a liar is not one. I take this extremely personally. I have good reason to believe they use other illegal sales tactics as well, but have no proof of that. Unfortunately I purchased a 2013 Volkswagen from a used car dealer up north and within 300mi. found out it came with a laundry list of problems to fix. It did come with a limited 3k warranty so that's what brought me to Volkswagen Pasadena. In fact, the last time I bought a car before yesterday, I cringe from the memory of the salesman following me out the door yelling over and over "I'll lower the price" and each time I'd come back in - he'd say "you're killing my family and my profit." It was nuts. But this THIS WAS DIFFERENT! Jorge Garcia was amazing. My former car, a Chevy Bolt was great but it was on recall for many months and they finally just gave me almost all my money back after three years. So I wanted to buy another electric car but none were available. However, Jorge assured me that the amazing new 2021 id4 would be arriving from Germany soon. He showed me how to make a reservation and then he did something to assure that my reservation was one of the first received. This was important because my family only had one car after GM took back the Bolt. I neurotically texted Jorge every single day, sometimes multiple times a day. Not only did he respond almost immediately if not immediately - but he phoned me as well. He answered all my questions. He let me come in and test drive the car multiple times with different family members. I got my beautiful id4 RWD Pro S yesterday and he spent hours with me showing me the car. He told me the motto of Volkswagen Pasadena is "it's more important to have happy customers than a lot of profit" However they have both. Did I mention they don't mark up the cars? After I got home I noticed something was wrong and he actually drove RIGHT TO MY HOUSE to help me immediately. There's one more thing. I joined the Facebook Id4 owner's group and we all post photos of our car with info about where we got it. When I said Volkswagen of Pasadena 3 people said "did you have Jorge? Where do I begin, i live in Chino Hills California and I was looking for a vehicle to buy. At the time I owned a top-of-the-line Volkswagen Jetta and the day after Christmas of 2020 my car got totaled. I went to the Volkswagen in Ontario which is 10 minutes from my house and they were selling a preowned atlas with low miles on it for $24,000 plus a lot more, the manager at the time wanted what he considered was a good price for it and was very aggressive with the way he handled business. So, my mom and I decided to travel to Pasadena because they had The same exact car with 500 more miles on it. Upon arrival I called Pasadena Volkswagen on the phone spoke to a gentleman named Wally who was a true professional and his customer service was awesome, at this point it's 7:30 PM and we arrive there right at 8 PM I believe. Wally remembered us when we came by name. He introduced us to a Salesman name Araslan and he was Phenomenal he was patient with us he negotiated like a professional he took us on a test drive he took the time to tell us everything related to the 2018 Volkswagen atlas from the front of the bumper to the back of the bumper he covered everything with patience and grace. From there we also negotiated with his boss Eric and if there's anybody that could sell anybody a car it was Eric he had great stories to tell that were definitely relatable. The way he spoke to us and the way he handled us, you could tell it was a gift and he actually cared about the people he was selling a car to. He was a much better negotiator than I was but he didn't make me feel that way, it felt like I was speaking to a family member we both agreed on the price that was considerably better than the one at Ontario Volkswagen. We were talking about a difference of 555 miles on the previous car versus the same car here in Pasadena at that point the price and the mileage didn't matter it was the customer service that won me over and now I can't wait to buy another car from Pasadena Volkswagen. I have two girls in high school who are almost ready for cars and this will be the first place that I take them to. After having a great conversation with Eric he led us to the finance manager name Jamal and his level of customer service was just as phenomenal as the first three gentleman. Jamal's hospitality, his gentleness, his integrity, his willingness to negotiate with care was genuine. Although, we didn't purchase what he recommended I left saying I'm gonna come back in eventually purchased the coverage that he was offering because it did make sense but I had to stay within my budget at that time. Definitely the place to go for your next VW! We have been purchasing VWs now for over 10 years and have been to VW dealers from Orange County to Pasadena and everything in between. The thing we love the most about this dealership is quality. Have we found VWs cheaper at other dealerships? Yes. But they were not of the same quality. Every used car here has gone through a rigorous testing so much so that they are all certified preowned. So when you purchase your car you know you're not buying a lemon. You can find a cheaper car elsewhere but that's because it's not certified so there's no guarantee that something won't go wrong and if it does it wouldn't be covered. Here you don't have to worry about that. That's why it's great if they can't be a prize you have somewhere else they're upfront about it but they're also people of the word and stand by their product. You can tell you're working with first class salesman because their GM, Scott is top notch and only seems to hire those that aren't like your typical sales person. You won't be cheated, lied to or taken advantage of here. And if you're looking for an honest sales person ask for Andrew or Jorge.
