I love Von's! This has been my regular grocery store for about 5 years, love the friendly workers! Very nice and helpful! Get the Von's app! Save money! I recently started buying seafood here too, very yummy! Great steaks, and rotisserie chicken too! The only thing I would complain about is the deli closes a little bit early around 8:30pm, I come late night after work. It would be nice to get fresh lunch meat anytime. Not a big deal. Someone I work with picked up a sandwich for me from the Von's Deli today. It was turkey on wheat with a lot of veggies, and it tasted really good! The bread was baked fresh this morning, and the turkey was delicious. I definitely recommend the deli if you're in the mood for a sandwich. A typical Vons. can be slow at registers so be patient. Not too big and don't always have the best selection of perishables but gets the job done. Has a Starbucks inside. No redbox or DVD rental inside. read more

3 stars due to good service, but slow checkouts. Some of the cashiers seem to move slower than any other grocery store I have ever been to. I used to like a few cashiers but they have been gone for 2-3 years now. The starbucks kiosk is good though, always have your drink ready with efficiency. read more

Staff always friendly. If they dont carry what you are looking for talk to a clerk. They will order it for you and stock it. Ive done this with several Soy Items. Prices can be a bit high. Take coupons and price shop. read more

I go here out of convenience because of my bank but the produce is disgusting here. I cannot tell you how many times I've seen produce with mold on it or expired meat and milk still on the shelves as well. But their produce is the worst. read more

I used to love this Von's... up until the last 6 months. The first incident happened when my family had me go on a beer run for our annual party. I took my cousin who is 20 with me. He never touched the alcohol until we got to the register and I asked him to put it on the counter for me because it was a huge case. The cashier started snapping at me immediately asking for his id and telling me he could not sell it to me because it was the law that minors could not touch it all. I figured ok, this guy is just doing what he's told. I went to ralphs down the street and told them about it and they thought it was ridiculous. 2 months later I took my coins to use their coin counter. Started putting my money in and when I finished the receipt printed and said I only had $0.65. I put in at least $15 worth of change. I told the manager and said look its even on camera, I mean really why would I lie for $15. He said there was nothing he could do about it until the coin counter company came the next day. He told me he would call me the next day and we would get it taken care of. Later he called me and said the camera looked like I didn't put that much money it, and I was like what are you implying? He was very rude and I didn't appreciate it, yet he said he would call me the following day. I waited 2 days, and no call. I tried to call and he was never available finally I gave up. The 2 times after that that I had to go in the store, the customer service was horrible. The only good dept is the deli section. At least their knowledgeable and helpful, but then again I guess you can't expect much from a store that is managed by someone who is highly lacking in customer service and people skills. read more

I've been coming to this store for 20 years and have watched it go downhill. It's in a great location but unfortunately it's very poorly ran. I have worked at another grocery chain for almost 18 years so I know how to make customers happy. First of all, check the date on everything. Food is not checked and rotated for freshness. Also, in the last 2 weeks I informed the manager that there were no carts in the front of the store. I told them their elderly customers would especially appreciate having them there. One of the managers said it's because it was busy. No excuse and it wasn't busy when I was there. They also don't keep sale items stocked. One last thing, the lines. I feel for the checkers. I hear them call for customer service up front, crickets. No one ever comes up to help the customers. I always thought that the customer comes first. Not at this store. The only good thing I could say is that there are some really good checkers there that work hard and are friendly and the location is convenient. read more

Typical Vons, clean and friendly. My first experience at the edinger location was disturbing. First walked in all eyes were on me, even the starbucks workers were staring. Made me feel like I had something on my face. Went to buy some corn, produce worker was friendly. As I went to pay for corn, cashier wasn't friendly, didn't get the usual how are you doing, or how is your day? Just got a smile, handed him my club card, he didn't take it, kind of ignored it, so I swiped it instead. The bag man, which I beleive was the manager was friendly, at least he asked me how I was doing, and was polite until I caught him giving my mom bad looks. As we left the store all eyes were still on us as we walked out the door. Even the customers were looking. I would never go to this store again, I think that would be the last time I would ever go to any Vons ever again. I have never felt soo disturbed and disrespected, felt like the old days when colored people were treated unfair. read more

I HATE THIS STORE. Why? let me count the ways. They close one of the entrances early in the evening and i always forget so i have to friggin walk another 30 yards. 2. They understaff at night so you are almost always in a looonnnggg line. 3. If you want soda (coke, sprite, etc) in the popular 12 pack, you have to buy 4 or 5 to get the discount, otherwise pay a fool's ransom of $5.99 each. I don't need 60 diet cokes in my fridge. Vons is in general overpriced. There is an Albertsons, Ralphs and Trader Joes within a few blocks and a Stater Bros, a few more blocks. I go there 90 percent of the time. Yes the staff is ok...they are trained to ask you if you need help to the car even if you are buying a pack of gum. Other than that, AVOID read more

Von's advertised "Whipped Cream" but they had none to sell so I asked a clerk who checked with somebody in the back and was told "they haven't had any for several days, they've ordered it everyday but none arrived". Recently 24 hour store, best time to go is at night, short lines, not really alot of people in the store but night crew is friendly and very helpful. I go in there every so often just to get the corn thats usually on sale and some booze and theres usually the same worker there that always helps me whenever i ask questions on where items are at since they switch it up on me sometimes, if you ever go at night and need help with something ask for byron he's fairly young as to the rest but extremely helpful literally taking you to the aisle if you need him to just to put exactly where your looking for 5 star just for this great service read more

don't shop in this store at all !!! besides the fact that most of things are moldy or expired they will TOW YOUR CAR while you are shopping !!! yes they will tow your car while you are a paying customer while the homeless person lays in front of the store in a pile of their own vomit ......yelp is making me give them a star they don't' deserve even one read more

Today will be the last time I ever go to this Vons after being a loyal patron for nearly 10 years and spending around $3,000.00 per year. I've had it with the seafood selection which is basically nil. The closest you can ever get to anything besides tilapia is cod or maybe snapper on rare occasions. Never anything like halibut, yellowtail, seabass. flounder.... Never. Can't even get catfish. Tilapia tastes like dirt. They always have salmon though. No more fresh flank steak. No more Bubbies pickles or any cold deli pickles at all. Just the nasty mushy room temperature ones on the condiment aisle. No more vacuum bags. Where the customers queue in the checkout lines is always a complete disaster and there seems to be more and more nonsense clogging up every aisle every time I go in. My friend and I came in with balloons we brought from home and asked if they would blow them up for us. They told us yes and the they would have to charge us for the whole balloon. That was strange but we were fine with it because we had a party to get to. we had one big special balloon same as the regular latex but bigger with confetti in it. They sent a kid over to help us, he had no idea what he was doing, we felt bad for him. He sad he had not ever worked in that section before. He didn't know how to tie off the balloons or tie ribbon on them so my friend and I had to stand there for 20 mins helping him, we pretty much did all the work for him. When we were done they told us they were gonna charge us $1.50 something for the regular balloons we had 16 of them, and $15 for the big one, we were in shock because they never told us about the $15 and it was only the equivalent of maybe 5 regular balloons that's the amount of helium we used. So we were talking to the cashier for not even a minute before she rudely told us she had other costumers and told us to go to the managers desk. I'm sorry I thought we were also costumers? and actually they should have given us a discount for having to do all the work ourself and not having proper staff. Then manager Noelle was also very rude and told us we were pretty much lying and we knew that we had to pay this amount. In the end she sold it to us for $10. At the same time scolding the boy in front of us saying never blow up people's balloons they bring in again. I'm sorry if this is not a service you provide then don't do it then blame him and us. Never ever will I should at this rude unprofessional store again. Shameful. read more
