Apparently AC units have pans that trap condensed water so it can be drained to safety. I know this because our pan had rusted through and was leaking water underneath our floorboards. Yay! Fun times! Fortunately, Sevan and his guys at VT Heating & Air Conditioning came to save the day. They were professional and hooked us up with a new unit at a very good price. I had bought an igniter but that was not the problem. He let me know where the problem was and knowing that we plan on getting a new system once we can afford it, suggested we just not waste another cent and just update it asap. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. They first came out in February to service my heating unit. Took weeks of me following up to even get a response as to what was wrong. They then ordered parts, still didn't work. Then after I called a million more times, they said they were ordering a new furnace and would send me an estimate. I haven't heard anything since (that was 3 weeks ago). They don't answer their phone or call anyone back (I have tried them almost every day for the past 3 weeks). It's been 2 months without heat because we trusted in their services. Now have to start all over. read more

So our building is pretty old and during this isolation period our heater broke. It had gotten pretty cold in our area especially since we live near the beach. Nights were very hard on our weak SOCAL body. I was so happy and ecstatic that this company was providing services during this pandemic. Sevan our HVAC person was super professional, came in a mask, gloves, and had shoe booties. He did the assessment and repair within an HOUR...super fast! He was also able to impart a lot of info and give us insight into our unit. He noted that whoever replaced our fuse last time didnt give us a new one, but he corrected that situation and let us know ours could be replaced with no charge if something were to happen to it before it was expected to wear out. They NEVER showed and DIDN'T call  I left 2 voicemails at 3 and 5:30- still no response. Unbelievable. How do they stay in business?!  I am EXTREMELY  upset- I took a day off from work, wasting my time, with not a word from the company- that day nor the next. Air conditioner had been acting weird all year and we'd finally had enough (especially in this heat!). Gave VT a call and they were able to get someone to the house quite literally, within the hour. I had VT come my house to fix our air conditioner. The technician told me I needed a new computer, and I would only need to pay for labor and shipping given my ac was under warranty. I was told he ordered the part and he could fix it the following week. He never came back. I would call or text for the first few weeks and he would say the part is on its way. Over time he stopped responding or had an excuse that he was in a garage with no service or something similar. Even after I expressed urgency given the heat and we had small children, he still didn't respond. I even suggested if he was too busy I could find someone else. At this point it's been a month and a half and I still haven't heard from him. I understand there are challenges in the current covid environment, but you can still respond at least and tell me to find someone else. read more

Quick response for a quote via Yelp. They were able to come the next day and came on time with a call in advance to confirm. The technician was very helpful and diagnosed the problem immediately. Turns out there was a vent in the attic crawl space that we didn't know about. The vent cover was filthy and blocked which froze the AC unit. The technician turned off the unit and advised us to let it defrost for a day. He also gave some tips about the vent covers, how to leverage our existing unit to best reach out cooling/temp preferences, and also let us know upgrade options if we really wanted to optimize based on our preferences (which he actually advised us against because of cost and complexity of project). Because there was no "fixing" involved, we weren't charged. We will 100% come back for any future needs. read more
