I wish I could give a higher rating Ordered the veggie pho + extras online and sadly didn't get the sauce nor broth with my meal. Also - missing a few other ingredients. The chicken in my friend's dish had quite a bit of connecting fat. She wasn't thrilled with it. (Her dog was elated though.) We did get a refund. I threw some soy sauce on my dish and it was ok. 1.5/5 Gosh I hate giving them two stars, but the bowl I ordered was just so plain and had like 5 strings (not even chunks) of chicken. No flavor. Is this how a pho bowl normally is? They advertise a 12 hour bone broth and fresh herbs...but man was it just flavorless liquid with noodles. I could've made this at home. They have 3 sauces you can add to it, but why would I add sauce to this? Shouldn't it already have flavor? The presentation of the new location is beautiful and the staff were pleasant...but gosh am I just having a hard time finding the appeal of a flavorless bowl of pho. Giving them 2 instead of 1 because maybe the other dishes are better. Will adjust accordingly with future visits. read more

Great food. Funky Attitude... But mostly great food. We walked in and looked at the menu on the wall. Everything looked great. My wife told me she wanted phō. I told her that I think it's pronounced faw. We decided to split that and try the lettuce wraps since the pho bowls were huge. We ordered, and my wife politely asked the guy taking our order if it was pho or faw. He went full teenager on us, and let out an exasperated sigh followed by what sounded like Fuh under his breath? I'm guessing he gets asked this question a LOT and has had it up to here. Whatevs. We're just here for the food, and I happen to LOVE awkward interactions. Gave us something to talk about at the table. After finding a nice table outside, we received our lettuce wraps within minutes. OHmazing! Really. So freakin good. Then our pho came out right after that. Also very good. The people who brought our food out were super nice. It definitely made up for the weirdness at checkout. read more

I can't with VIU's anymore. I always try to be positive and not leave bad reviews, but I've ordered from them 6 times in the past couple of months and my order was only correct 1 time. I have the genetic predisposition to cilantro tasting like soap/aluminum and I ask for NO CILANTRO on anything I order. I try to order items that don't come with cilantro but they somehow put it on anyway, even when I tell them I can't have it. It's not like I just don't like it, it actually ruins the meal and it becomes the only thing I can taste. I wish I loved it but it's not possible. I've wasted hundreds of dollars on this place. Even today she said "If it doesn't come with cilantro I still write it because I know people don't like it" and yet the kitchen still puts it on. The bites I've had around the cilantro are amazing and when they got it right it was great. I think 5 times is the charm. I'm done. read more

So let's start with getting there. It's located in Huntington station other where there are other places to eat as well. Parking is available. I parked at the space that was allotted for takeout (15min). For food I ordered the vegan pho. I do agree that the ingredients were fresh. I think that they also packed it nicely. And they had the farm ready very quickly however, I don't think that the broth was super flavorful. It is hard to do vegan pho, but I think the broth was lacking and disappointing. The additions onto the pho were fantastic. They added fried onions in too which was a nice treat and aroma was great. I had plenty of tofu and mushrooms. My takeout was packaged nicely and included a soup spoon along with cutlery and sriracha and hoisin packets EXCEPT for chopsticks! So make sure to grab that. Other than that it was priced normal for the area. I'd try it if you're really craving it, but honestly I was a bit disappointed. I'm used to an ethnic palate but it's like they're trying to fool us with bland view pho, ..So can't really recommend. Final rating 3.5 only cuz ambiance, service parking and everything else elevates it. Service was nice :) Oh and the ambiance is hipsteresque. I snagged lunch togo last week for myself and the crew and we had a truly lovely meal. We had the edamame potstickers (much better than expected), two pork belly bao (soooo well seasoned!), a pork belly banh mì, and the one of the noodle bowls (so fresh, so saucey). It was absolutely stunning and the portions were generous. I would love to visit again next time I'm in Nashville. Highly recommend a visit, you will not be disappointed. read more

First time trying bahn mi! The flavor of the chicken was UNREAL. Perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The vegetables were great. I wasn't a huge fan of the pate and I wish the bread was crispier (more of a baguette). The edamame dumplings were also good. The chili sauce it came in had a strong kick! They've changed their chicken. It used to taste fresh with a grilled char, and the last several times, it has been fatty and weird - looks and tastes like canned chicken with fat connecting the pieces. I guess they aren't trimming and throwing straight into a marinade giving it a canned effect. The vegetables sauce and limeade are still fabulous. read more

Love the Vui's location in Berry Hill, but this one at Hunter's Station is too consistently inconsistent. Usually the pork in the rice bowl is tender and juicy with a nice maillard crust, but today's was rubbery and appeared to have been microwaved (see pic). Pretty disgusting!! I've had the same thing here before and it's been great, but this has been too many strikes for me to continue coming to this location- I'll drive the extra 10 mins to hit up the one in Berry Hill! read more

I hate writing a luke warm review like this because honestly, Vui's in both Berry Hill and Germantown are two of my favorite eateries in Nashville. But unfortunately, the new location in East Nashville is really missing the mark. Twice I have tried eating there and both times I have gotten two of my fav dishes - the bahn mi and the tofu rice bowl. And both times the tofu has had a really nasty burned flavor to it. So much so that it has completely ruined the entire meal. Also, the rice in the bowl was very undercooked and stone cold. Not sure if the new location is just having issues transitioning, and suffering from growing pains, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to give it another chance. I'm still a big fan of Vui's, just not the East Nashville location. read more

This olace could crank out an OK Banh Mi....but the bread is horrible!!! They use a soft hot dog bun which instantly dissolves in your hands. Banh Mi are made with a crunchy, chewy baguette, ideally made with rice flour. Huge dissappointment! My wife is Vietnamese and wher I live ghere is a large population with very good Banh Mi. I had the noodle bowl with Vermicelli noodles, lettuce, arugula, vegetables, fresh herbs, and crushed peanuts with chilli lime dressing...and I chose shrimp as my protein. This dish was a play on a native Viet dish (BUN THIT NUONG CHA GIO) and it just totally missed the mark for me. They deserve the two stars because the vegetables were very fresh and shrimp was cooked perfectly, but the vermicelli noodles were hard. As if they had leftovers, refrigerated, and forgot to put the noodles back in hot to boiling water to soften it back up before it was served. Additionally, the Chile lime dressing was not like a traditional Viet dressing that goes over the dish. The traditional dressing will have fish sauce (which is a staple in southeast Asian cuisine), but you can tell that their dressing had mostly salt and vinegar as an attempt...key word is attempt...to replicate the traditional sauce/dressing. They totally missed the mark. I also ordered the pork bao buns which had pork belly in it. The bao bun is an open bun with pork belly which was seasoned well. However, the bao bun was too thick. Again, far from the traditional. I sum up Vui's kitchen as another restaurant claiming to serve authentic Asian cuisine but alters/caters the flavor to basic American standards. Has the vegetarian pho and it was really good! Broth has good depth and was definitely pretty flavorful. Only bummer is there wasn't much tofu in it, and doesn't come with the herbs etc on the side as most traditional pho places offer. There are still some in the soup, just sort of miss out on some of the experience of putting it together yourself. None the less, still great! read more

We're loving the new Hunters Station and are so happy Vui's has taken up residence here. It's a unique concept with six restaurants set up around communal dining in a renovated custom auto detailing shop. There's outdoor covered seating as well as plentiful parking behind the building. Since we're fans of the other Vui's locations we were excited to try the newest addition to the family. It didn't disappoint. What we love is the way they do their shrimp with a finger licking char straight off the grill. I had the Bun noodle bowl and my husband had the rice bowl, both with the shrimp of course. My only disappointment is that this location doesn't carry the warm coconut pudding that we've enjoyed at their other restaurants. Otherwise we're definitely fans of Vui's and their fresh healthy fare! read more

This pho and Vietnamese food is decent. Will satisfy a craving but could be a lot better. They do have option that are chicken if someone does not eat red meat. They barely gave any vegetables with the pho and the pho was all noodles and not much meat slices. The broth was also way too sweet for pho. read more

From the Pho to the Basil Seed Limeade, what can I say, it doesn't get any better than this! I have been wanting to go to Vu's but just refused to fight the Germantown parking scene. Now I can since they have opened a second location at the old Hunter's Automobile store in East Nashville. I didn't try the spring rolls, but will next time, but they looked delicious. Now that the weather is getting cold, a big bowl of hot vegetable Pho is perfect for whatever ails you. And top it off the the Basil Seed Limeade, you will not find a more refreshing drink! Awesome classic beef pho! Staff was great and loved the idea of a disposable plastic ladel-spoon thing that is used to sip broth. Prices were fine- I'm used to my neighborhood pho place charging $9 for a gigantic bowl. Thought this was definitely in the top half of pho I've eaten in my life. read more

I ordered the original bahn mi. Took a bite and it just tasted burnt. I looked at the bread and instead of toasting my bun they burnt the inside to a crisp. I'm not one to take things back to the kitchen but I had no choice with this sandwich. I asked for another and they sent it back to the kitchen (big no for food safety. Under no circumstance should food that left the kitchen go back in especially if I already took a bite. Gross.) I had to wait quite awhile for my replacement sandwich to come out which was disappointingbecause I came here with friends and they were stuck waiting for me twice. While I was waiting I saw a few other bahn mi's come out and they were not burnt, so clearly there is a quality control issue/the kitchen staff don't care about what's coming out of their kitchen. When I got my sandwich the bread was better but the meat was so charred the whole thing still had a burnt taste. Honestly worst bahn mi I've had.
