    Brussels Sprouts

Stopped in for linner with a friend on a Monday. There was 4-5 other groups and a handful of people at the bar, lending to a pleasant buzz to go with the festive decor. Got their pot pie fries from their seasonal menu, and it was HUGE but delicious. A little light on salt, but the filling was delish. Also got the Brussel sprouts as another app, also great but a much smaller portion. Really enjoyed the peanut sauce with them. Our wursts were good but maybe the ~wurst~ part of the meal to be honest. Nothing too dazzling. Their menu was huge though, so it might be worth coming back to try a different one. That said- the service was great and super fast, we got water right away and our food came out in less than 10 minutes.

It's Sunday. Not a lot of people in the joint and our last burger spot has been dropping the buns. We tried this joint for the third time. Bryan was excellent. Simple easy cocktails worth the price. Burger was outstanding. Split the bbq and the traditional with the squeeze. Both slapped. Excellent.

Oops, ma bad. I forgot to review this sausage kingdom 'til now. Suffice it to say, if you're feeling "wurst" for wear (jajajaja), you should stop by here to get your protein fix. Bonus: Their Happy Hour runs 'til 7pm and you can get full-size $6 poutine then. Yuuuuum, says the Canadian in me. Other good eats include the classic Haus Dog, which is served with sauerkraut, mustard, pickled onions, and relish. Or channel your inner Sonic the Hedgehog with the Hot Diggity Dog, which comes with--you guessed it--housemade chili (along with cheese sauce, sour cream and Fritos). Mmmmm, gotta go fast!

Service was quick. Food was just alright, nothing special. The hot dogs were tasty but the gravy and fries were a bit too much

We had a great meal at Würstbar. The Brussel Sprouts appetizer with Fried Garlic was amazing. Next time I'll order this for myself since sharing it was hard. Tried Poutine for the first time. It tasted great but not the best thing for my waistline. I really enjoyed my Haus Wurst sandwich. The bun and all the toppings were a great combo. Service was great and the upscale dive bar fib was perfect. Reminded me of when I lived in Brooklyn 25+ years ago and we would go to a favorite dive bar for the best bar food.

Great beer selection, awesome playlist, solid brats, friendly service. What else could you ask for? We had already eaten dinner and planned to stop by just for a drink, but their bratwursts looked sooo good.. which they were! Next time though, we want to try the poutine. Looking forward to returning!!!

Great serving size - delicious flavors. The bacon Mac hot dog was amazing and left me wanting more. The brotherly love poutine was delicious, I loved the addition of the biquinho peppers. It also delivers well!

This one will be quick, Stopped in on a random weekday for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Went on a Tuesday shortly after they opened. They were empty so I sat at the bar. Bartender suggested the uh huh honey sandwich (was really good) and fries with a couple different dipping sauces (all really good) Took the food a little while to come out, I assume every order is make fresh. Place was not too small, had a good number of tables & patio seating, place gets super packed on weekends and evenings. I will definitely visit again to try more things on their menu.

Check out the bread on this country roads brat!!! So good (reminded me of Hawaiian rolls)

After days of eating bagels, pizzas, and sandwiches on a work trip I was wanting something a little different and possibly with veggies. I was staying at a hotel nearby searching yelp of course and the Würstbar was the perfect choice for a switch up! I thought about dining in to try their beers, but I read the food can take a bit and I'm not really a fan of dining alone for long periods of time. I decided to order this through door dash to relax and wait (I could have easily walked). I got the country roads Vermont cheddar brat with apple fennel slaw, jalapeño aioli, and chives and also the Brussels sprouts as my side (found in starters). Even though the brats have a slightly high price tag (around $17) I found the quality and portion size worth the price! Also the bread the brat was in was a pleasant surprise. It reminded me of elevated Hawaiian rolls because of its hint of sweet plus butter on toasted goodness! I was expecting the apple slaw to be a little sweeter but to be fair they didn't specify the apple type. The jalapeño aioli also was not spicy to me but had a really good flavor, in fact all the flavors played well together. Now the Brussels.... Whew!!!! I ate half of them before even taking a bite of the brat! The spicy Thai peanut sauce had some heat to it but was sooo good! I mopped up as much as I could of it! The fried garlic was a nice touch and not over powering! Looking forward to visiting the store front next time I'm in town for happy hour (I want to try their poutine!) and their brews!

A friend of mine dragged me to jersey city as there was a goth party in the area, but first she wanted to take me to her fav food spot as she used to live in jersey city. They have a happy hour section from 4-7 which is awesome & we did make it on time for it,but the happy hour didn't have much variety of food.I looked at the other side of the menu & all the foods were regular prices. Those should be included in the happy hour not just what they have already.I ended up getting the haus poutine as I saw on the reviews it's the best.It was good although I'm not a fan of gravy & there should be choices for sauce toppings. Also the food should have something else instead of just a bunch of fries, cheese & gravy.Add some type of chopped up meat or ground beef or chopped up bacon which is why the 4 stars on food. The service was great, the whole restaurant is clean,a lot of table seatings & I would go back again for the non happy hour foods.

Hot dog / brat spot with a nightlife vibe (when we went at least). Food was excellent, guilty pleasure gourmet dogs. Will def go back.

I came here on a Sunday night with a friend who lives in Jersey City and has been here before. She made a reservation, but it wasn't busy. Very nice rustic interior with a bar and different sized seating options. A lot of interesting cider options! There's also beer, wine, and cocktails. Their happy hour prices Mon-Fri seemed like a really good deal, the HH drinks and appetizers were $5-6 which I think was very reasonable. We ordered the mini corn dogs and brussels sprouts as appetizers. Those were already pretty filling. Then, we shared the sally mae poutine (fries, fried chicken, mac & cheese) and we each got a dog. I tried the Maui Bow Wowie and it was delicious and surprisingly filling! Very comforting food and great service!

JERSEY CITY: the Würstbar is actually the best bar with a fun combination of sausage, beer & cider, and dog friendly outdoor seating! They are famous for their sausages where you can choose the type of protein you want: German bratwurst, Spanish chorizo, polish keilbasa, chicken wurst, smoked Vermont cheddar brat, beef frank, and even a vegan frank! They also have burgers, chicken sandwiches, poutine, and more! There is a nice selection of beer and ciders on tap and in cans, including local NJ brews and regional offerings. Our server, Joel, was very attentive in taking our order and checking-in on us. Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed at the outdoor seating in front of the building.

Food is great, but $40 for two hot dogs and a beer just doesn't seem right no matter how much dress it up.

    They're chicken thighs.

Do they use peanut oil to cook the fries?

Nope, we use a blended oil that’s peanut free.

    Is there parking?

Street parking. It isn't easy but patience is key. You might get lucky and find a spot quick!

Do they have TVs? Can I catch a game here?

Yes! We have 3 TV's and one large projector screen. They aren't always turned on, but we'll put on any sport or game on that you wish, just ask the bartender. See you soon.

Is the poutine gravy veggie based or meat based?

They have both! Just ask for veg gravy or veg dogs!

Do they have happy hours on weekend?

    Nope just M-F

Wine and beer are also on the menu, but the unique cocktails are the big draw. The space is narrow, basically one long bar taking up the entire floor plan. No tables, only stools at the bar for seating. There's literally no space for anything else. While I liked the theme overall, I personally wasn't blown away by my cocktails, and didn't love that they were priced over $20 when there was only soju instead of stronger spirits available. Plus the space is "charming" but maybe I'm getting too old for tiny, grungy East Village bars. Definitely a unique vibe, but if you're not actively seeking out a Japanese-themed bar, I wouldn't call this a must-visit.

Taking off a star because I had a weird experience with the people at the front. I'm currently recovering from an injury and I'm in a pretty obvious neck brace. I was visiting with two people who were on their way and would be arriving in about 10-15 minutes and the people at the front told me I couldn't be seated until they arrived. I understand that this is normal protocol, but I pointed out my neck brace and asked if an exception could be made because it's significantly more comfortable for me to sit down (and there was no room at the bar). They said that their manager wouldn't let them do that, and that they couldn't seat me until the rest of my party was there. There were tons of table tables available the entire time and when my friend arrived about 12 minutes later, they seated us, I totally could've sat the whole time and it wouldn't have been a problem. Not the end of the world and I probably could've pushed it harder, but it definitely was a little awkward!
