Straight off the street and into a Saturday night Rave in the middle of the afternoon. Music blaring like a dance party fully equipped with "F-**k this ..." And "oh my is that his d**%k" blaring for our 5 year old to ask questions about. Add that neither bathroom has a functioning lock. Add the "cute" employee joke "use at your own risk" printed on the door. Then, top it all off with the fact that there is no soap in the men's room that has to be used by employees. (Fixed by male employee after customer told them) Food was ok, and workers were friendly. Unfortunately, these other issues are WAY too big to overlook. I wasn't really sure what to expect when I walked into this place. I was thinking maybe a little bit like panda express. However, I have been pleasantly surprised by the taste of the food and the quality of the food and more importantly the service of the people. We stopped here on our way from Orange County to Texas to eat waba grill one last time and this place is clean, big interior, friendly staff, delicious and accurate meals! I ordered the chicken plate and the half chicken-half beef plate. Both were delicious! I asked for light onions on mine and to my surprise they were prepacked in a mini fridge on the self serve condiment station. Grab as much - or as little - as you'd like! Poor customer service at its finest! A freeway closer at Dessert Center California sent people back to Indio for food. A fireman and his family came in at 8:45 pm they were stuck on the freeway for 3 hrs with 4 small children. They weren't allowed to sit and eat there food. Luckily Yogurtland employees showed great customer service and let them sit in their store so the people could eat. Shame on you Waba Grill, your won't ever get our business again! read more

I highly recommend the WaBa bowl! You get chicken and steak for a great price. It can come with veggies too if you'd like. I'm not a veggie fan so no veggies for me. You also can choose white or brown rice. The service was very nice and when I went there was no line at all. Got our food pretty quickly. The place was really clean too which I loved. I gave Waba Grill 5 stars a couple years ago, because it was an awesome spot with a friendly staff, great quality food at a low price. What has happened over the years has really disappointed me though. The prices have gone up, the portions have gone down as well as the quality of the food. A few times i even found bones in my food. The staff is no longer friendly, they got rid of chopsticks, their music selection was low grade hip hop, they used to play awesome 80s classics. Everything is wrong with this place now. I used to be the guy who would convince all my friends to eat there, now its like I'd almost rather not eat at all. For $8 I got the Salmon bowl, fishy, dry, and about 2 inches long by 1 inch thick, i was left with a bowl of brown rice within a few bites. I leave 2 stars because the chicken and steak bowls are... better than 1 star. But everything else about this place is deserving of 1 star. read more

I would have given 5 stars a month ago. 2 weeks ago we went and got food to go. After opening our orders at home half the chicken was missing from one bowl. And the meat in both bowls was dry and lacking sauce. We went back last night. I mentioned this to the manager... His comment "we were training new cooks". No apology at all. We got the same dinner but it was different. The sauce tasted different and the pieces of meat were large. Not chopped small like they used to be. We'll try once more but that's it. This is my "Official Spot" for the best grilled teryiyaki in the Coachella Valley! Particularly this location on the other side of Jackson in Indio. If you want a really clean establishment, super friendly staff, and food that is always hot and consistent then do not hesitate to stop by! Manny the GM has done an outstanding job of perfecting this business down to a science! I cant say enough about how much I love this place like many others that work out at 24 hour fitness nearby! It helps that all of his employees are the original team that opened this location and it shows in the quality and pride of what they deliver!!!!
