I ordered from this exact location on DoorDash and found a long red/blondish hair in my food while eating the rice. This was basically a grilled chicken house salad added with edamame, a packet of wonton strips, and a spicy sesame dressing. Where's the mandarin oranges? Sliced almonds? Maybe cabbage? I order and don't even get a receipt All I got was a chicken bowl with white rice. What a sorry excuse for a product. When it was done she carries it in the bag with one finger as it's something she doesn't want to touch and says "your food is ready". No other type of customer service here. I used to go to this place once a month or so but hadn't been there in a while because they kept getting my orders wrong. I thought I'd give them another shot since I believe they are under new management. Well, I will not be going back. Once again, they just can't get it right. I ordered and paid extra for white meat chicken and when I went to eat it wondered why it tasted so bad. Low and behold, it was not white meat, it was dark meat and I was not able to eat it. Had it not been for some good friends who got me down here I might still be a WaBa Grill virgin, and what a shame that would be! I must confess, I'm not a big pastrami person. I think it's delicious, sure, but I usually don't seek it out. But since this is supposed to be Ground Zero for pastrami in CA, I had to try it. I opted for the #10, so I could get the cole slaw on the side. Took a little while for the sammy to come out, but wow, when it did was it good. The pastrami itself was quite lean, which I guess it always isn't the case, and to tell you the truth I could've used a little more fat in there, but it was still quite delish. What really made the sandwich for me though was their rye bread with the wonderful crunchy crust! And the Russian dressing was a tangy creamy treat as well. It was so good I ended up eating the whole thing, even though just a half would've been quite enough to satisfy. Dan H and I were saying later we should've just split a sandwich between us--oh well! Their cole slaw was quite good as well, fresh, crisp and sweet with just the right amount of mayo. I think I prefer slaw that has cabbage sliced a bit more substantially with more celery seeds, though, so I can't say this was the best slaw I've had. Next time I want to try their tongue sandwich and the chopped liver, as those are usually the items I go for at a Jewish deli. read more

It's never too late to change, right? Visited Waba last week at the request of my significant other. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not sure if there's been a change in ownership or if the company as a whole received a face lift--but I'm impressed by the positive changes. The menu is a little more in-depth, now including tofu options and salads. They've spruced up their look, which makes them look more put together. And the service, in particular, at this location has seemed to improve. I'm glad I was pushed into stopping in. Good job on the changes Waba, keep it up. read more

Under new management is a very bad thing in the case of this Waba grill location. Prior to the change, they had this manager or supervisor that was EXCELLENT! He was full of energy, engaged with the customers in a positive way, and was hands-on with cooking and general leadership of his staff. The quality of the food was great. However, looks like they got rid of him (cheaped out?) and the place is not the same at all. The bowls are served with insufficient amounts of rice and chicken, with a disproportionate amount of rice. The chicken appears not to be all white meat any more, and has a limp, shredded texture as opposed to neat grilled cubes of the past. If you phone in orders and ask for green onions, you will inevitably be served bowls devoid of green onions. Not a problem if you order one bowl, but imagine a large order of bowls to go and now you have to waste time opening each one to add the onions yourself after everything was sealed and bagged up. The staff is leaderless. No manager in sight most days. The former cash register guy ends up having to cook sometimes. Very disorganized. There is no "face" to this franchise location, and it's really disappointing because they used to be solid. They do not compare well at all against other Waba locations at this point. Sad. read more

I took pictures of the soda fountain and back of restaurant with restrooms( one that was out of order ). What is going on? The kitchen floor was super dirty. The dining room had 2 customers. No sauce cups ready to go, " you can fill it up yourself" was the answer I got from the employee. I was never offered vegetables. Never again! I couldn't eat the food. First off, I called in an order and the girl on the phone said 5 min. So please explain to me why I drove over there and waited an extra 20 minutes?! But every so often they turn their phones off or mute them? I called 4 times and no answer so I decided to head over on my lunch. It takes 3 minutes to get here. When calling the phone just rings and rings and rings. I waited 25 minutes when no one was in store but one other person for pre made food to be tossed in a bowl. This WaBa Grill has the worst service ever. I placed a standard order, chicken bowl, brown rice and veggies. I waited and waited until I realized no one was making my order. I asked an employee, Cecelia, if my order was ready and she looked at me like I was crazy. She asked my name and handed me someone else's order. I assured her this was not my food and started to tell her what I had ordered. She looked at me and said, "yeah, I got it" and proceeded to toss me another persons order (again). I opened the container and let Cecelia know this too was not mine. I tried to tell her what I had ordered but she gave me a dirty look and walked away.
