I actually started writing this review while I was waiting for my food. I ordered 3 regular chicken bowls and 1 mini chicken bowl, and my total came out to $45.77. Service was fine, which is why I initially gave them 4 stars. But as I was walking out, I noticed a sign on the door advertising 2 specials, one of them was 4 regular bowls and 4 drinks for $44.99. Wait a minute... so you mean to tell me I could have gotten the family special, with drinks included, for less than what I paid? Now ma'am... why was that not mentioned when I was ordering my $45.77 meal? That right there is the difference between good service and great service. Help me save my coins next time! Finally had the chance to visit. Thursday 3.21.24 for lunch. Located in Promenade of Downey, Same plaza as Handels Ice Cream and not far walking distance from 7 Leaves Tea. One of my fav tea boba spot. Lots of traffic flow & constant business. Especially being next to an urgent care. Restaurant was like every Flame Broiler restaurant. Got the Angus Beef bowl and it's delicious. Fresh and flavoring is on point. Portions are good and love the convenience of a healthy bowl you can chow down in minutes, it's definitely good. Have to ice up my bowl w the magic sauce. All of my kids love FB. We have a few in my area and it's a great quick easy eatery that everyone loves Associate was really friendly and service was quick. The cook & staff are working hard. Guy Manager/owner super kind and friendly. Greeted me right when i walked into the door. Asked for a ton of magic & spicy sauce and gave mee 3 containers each and wasn't cheap. Lol i love my magic & spice sauce. It's a good size restaurant. Open space with a lot of tables. They do have 1 table/chairs outside for dining. Lots of parking available right out front or in the shopping plaza. Food was great. Experience was bizarre. I arrived expecting to order 2 regular chicken bowls, so I ask for 2 regular chicken bowls. I go to my rewards where I thought I had a BOGO free bowl, turns out I had 20% off. I did see a free mini bowl, so I ask the cashier if she can actually make it one regular bowl and the free mini bowl. And this is where it got weird. She said I couldn't do that because she had already put in an order for two regular bowls. So I'm being forced to buy two regular bowls now because she put the order into the kitchen before I paid and finalized my order?!?! Minus one star because it is a door-order when I get there the girl has no idea and she asked me my name and I showed her the receipt and the progress shows the the progress still stuck at scheduled the chef behind the counter was busy and she asked him is there a doordash order he has no clue and someone just hand her over my order. So it was already cold because I guess it has been sitting around. Came in on a Friday around 12:30PM. The flamebroiler is located in a plaza so it gets busy for parking but no line ordering. Ordered a regular tofu/veggie bowl with brown rice came out to $8.31 after tax. Bowl looked decent but I think the flavor heavily relies on the "magic" sauce. Protein And veggie portion could be more generous for the price or even include a drink. The brown rice was mushy. Leaving still hungry, but a glass of water should do the trick. The staff and service is on point. Welcoming everyone that comes in. Everyone is working and the area is kept clean which I appreciate. Good job read more

This is my go-to Flame Broiler. You know we all got a neighborhood Flame Broiler we love. The reality is that Flame Broiler is exactly what we all need on those days when you're focusing on eating healthy. I always go after my workouts and I'm always delighted when I walk-in and Anna is at the register. Why you might ask? Truth is I know I'm getting my order right and Anna really seems to care about me as a customer. She's terribly courteous and always attentive to my needs. She knows my order and if I change my order she notices and just checks to make sure I didn't miss something. When she isn't pushing the line along she's always cleaning or keeping busy. That's the hallmark of a great employee and really just let's me know this place is being run properly. The food is always prepared properly and delicious but really the service here has continuously been just wonderful and I'm here to say a huge part of that is Anna!!! Recently started working down in the Long Beach area and started trying out all the places to eat in this shopping center. I've never been to a Flame Broiler but it was very YUM. The place was clean with just enough seats for the lunch hour rush. Seems like lots of people in the community like to eat here - hospital people, firefighters, etc. I got the Angus Bowl with the Brown Rice since I'm trying to stay healthy and it was very filling. The beef was cooked well and fresh and not smothered in sauce like some fast food chains. The prices are very fair and cheaper than the sit down restaurants in the center so I'm happy. read more

5 stars for their customer service! I was greeted by Valentin. He was extremely nice and patient while I read the whole menu. I had my little one in her car seat, and if you're a parent carrying one, you know they're heavy with a baby in it! Valentin was nice enough to bring my to-go bag to me. He even went out of his way to bring me forks/napkins w/out me asking. Truly a great employee...thank you Valentin! I ordered the chicken & veggie bowl with white rice. It was good! Very bad service. I used to come here frequently since it's nearby my house but not anymore. I noticed that they have a quick turn around with their front staff. Had an issue with the order taker. He took down my order incorrectly. I noticed the error after the credit card transaction went through. I let him know immediately after that he had put in my order incorrectly so he can correct it. Then he starts arguing with me that I must have read him my order incorrectly. I let him know that he was incorrect and wasn't listening. He told me that since I paid with my card he cannot correct the order because his manager did not show him how to refund the card or did not want to show him. Anyhow I received the money back he overcharged me. I go back the following week and the same order taker is there. He recognizes me and says something to the cook. They both start giggling and I notice it. I decide to head right out the door. I'm not saying that they mess with your food here but they sure give you that impression. I won't be visiting this Flame Broiler soon. Also, I filed a complaint on the general website. Corporate said that they'll reach out to the owner. Never heard back from either. I let corporate know that even if each store is individually owned it still reflects bad on them. read more

I want to put some effort into updating my review. First I want to thank this location for addressing my complaint on portion control and have increased the portion size of food. My complaint now is the manager lady that works there. She's pretty old and seems pretty cold towards employees and guests. As I was trying to place an order today, a new employee in training was excited to help me. He was very enthusiastic, very sweet and even greeted me and asked me how my day was. The manager rudely interrupts and tells him that she will be completing my order. She did not smile, greet or even seem happy with my presence there. It doesn't stop there. As the employee who was helping me went to do cleaning duties, she speaks at him out loud in front of me in a spiteful manner "don't clean the tables with that!" As a customer I believe as management, you must be a role mode to your employees. This lady is definitely setting a poor example. I am a Human Resources professional and this is by no means to treat your subordinates. It is unacceptable and makes it uncomfortable for the guests and builds a negative work environment. I hope something is done , for I don't think this is the last time this lady who has the wrongful title will treat her employees in this manner. I did not feel comfortable after she raised her voice at the employee. Never had a bad experience until today. The cashier was rude from the start. As I walked to the cashier, I said hello and I was straight up ignored. Soon after the cashier slammed a customer before me's receipt on the table. When she was taking my order she never asked me if I wanted vegetables on my order or said anything really. As I waited for my order my number was called and I took 5 seconds to read my receipt to make sure that was my number being called. I went up to get my food and as the cashier was turning I could see her rolling her eyes at me. And my meal had green onions topped all over which I never asked for. The only reason I am giving this flame broiler a 4 star review is because of the young lady who took my order. She greeted me with a smile and a positive attitude and also gave me some suggestions on the food when I asked. She was very helpful and provided the best customer service I've ever had at any fast food place. Very friendly, beautiful and polite. The manager can use some pointers from this young lady on how to be more positive and how to make people feel welcomed. The food was good but the service was better. The girl with the blonde hair and over the top emo makeup was really rude. She has huge noticeable over the top cat eyeliner . I came today asked for a chicken bowl and a drink and I asked her a simple question and she gave a stern look and didn't answer , so I was like ok cool in my head , and then she forgets to give me my drink and gives it with attitude, honestly I understand like maybe she stressed out because yeah in the fast food industry it isn't easy but their is also something called human decency, and that young girl did not have that.
