Awesome Service and so clean. This place definitely takes 5 stars for customer service and cleanliness. The bathroom is super spotless and even smells good. I got the basic chicken bowl with brown rice and it was simply delicious. I got white meat in replacement and was totally worth it. Staff is very friendly and they always seem to be so busy during lunch. May take a while because of the lunch rush but totally worth it! Good job guys! read more

Walked in to grab some lunch and although the restaurant looked clean, the cooks did not. The cashier was also the cook and the one putting together my plate...while on the phone. Didnt put on any gloves and didnt get off the phone at any point. Dont waste your money by eating here. There are other restaurants that take gloves seriously. read more

Literally they can never get the order right. I ordered food for delivery and they don't add the green onion I order plus put white rice instead of brown rice that I asked for. This is not the first time it's happened & its ridiculous. I've gave this place so many chances already. Definitely NOT ordering from here again. First time visit based on local flavor voucher purchased. Ordered food to go, confirmed my order was packaged correctly but it was not. After getting back to my shop, 2 out of the 4 items were wrong. I went back as it's close to my shop and they corrected my order immediately with a positive attitude. They offered a free drink as a token of their mess up. The food was delicious! I ordered the chicken tortilla soup with brown rice in lieu of white rice, steamed broccoli side dish, chicken with broccoli bowl and BBQ ranch salad with shrimp. This is a brand-new Waba Grill. It just opened. There was no air conditioning so the poor guys working at the grill we're sweating. The girl at the register looked like she would rather be anywhere but where she was. And the floors and tables were filthy. Even though this is a new Waba Grill it's obvious that the tables were very old. They were chipped all over the edges. The girl at the register left for the day after I had placed my orders so the guys in the back finished my order for me. They were very nice and accommodating and I felt bad that they were working with the heat. read more

As I sit here over 25 minutes now everybody else's order has been called I'm now very aggravated!!!! I was being cool at first I could tell the cashier was new and kept messing up & the cook oh boy he was just ass backwards I saw about 6 different customers orders out before mine. I waited 15 minutes and then finally asked I did order shrimp so I thought OK it's just taking a little bit longer then they called out more orders . I'm like hello my shrimp bowl???) it's coming it's coming I heard I guess the person in charge say that we're still waiting on it I kept standing up and asking what the problem was I got my bowl with rice and shrimp. I said I asked for vegetables no rice she took it in the back and had him redo it again , She was going to put the lid on and I said I did pay for avocado as well !!!! She stuck everything in the bag there was sauce all over everything all sticky I said can you please put it in another bag she did that bag had sauce all over everything too !!!!I'm like this is ridiculous you guys , the cook came out and said with his hand gesture like it's OK it's OK I'm like it's not OK I've been here for 35minutes now and you pulled out some new orders other than mine and I'm just sitting here and you see me sitting here and then I don't know how many times you messed it up they did give me an order of wontons but I tell you when I left there I was so upset I won't go back there!!! The cashier made some bowls and the other lady was like why are these here I've already pulled all the bowls so she proceeded to grab both of the bowls with the rice and scoop them out with the Outside of the bowl where your hands go mind you these people have no gloves on so they're touching cleaning products and wiping stuff down and then touching the outside of the bowl and then using it to scoop out the rice to put the rice back in there in the main rice pot at that point I was even more happy I didn't ask for rice!!!!!! i love waba grill, i come here 3/5 days after school the service and everything is great, my problem is that there is NO AC. It's been extremely hot lately pass 90 degrees it's very sad to see workers work in that heat and it just makes me not wanna eat there because it's such a heat wave!! Brand new restaurant the food was fast and fresh, the popular OMG teriyaki up the street has larger portions and cheaper prices but very similar quality food! Great for healthy eating. read more

Stopped In on my way home from painting a sign, I was famished. It was my first time trying WaBaGrill but I ordered a veggie bowl; rice, veggies,avocado and also a drink. My order was quick. Staff was very friendly and my food was pretty good. What I did notice though was that the place was pretty clean which surprised me because of the high school up the street, definitely a good thing. Food was terrible, chicken had all the burned oil and the left overs from the dirty grill. The burned taste was in mouth for 2 hours even though I only took two bytes the rest went straight to trash. I will never eat there again. read more

I have been a regular customer to the new location on vanowen. The last 3 weeks I have been very disappointed in the food. Twice they ran out of salmon and 3 times the brown rice was under cooked.. Seems they need better management. read more

I love waba grill but not at this location. This one is the closest one to my house, only 5 minutes away. And the two times I've been here they've disappointed me. I use the app to order and pick up quickly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and I usually order chicken & steak plate with white rice and add avocado and green onions with garlic Serrano sauce. And I pay through the app so the process will be even quicker. First time I go they tell me they don't have avocado and the lady who gave me my order had a terrible attitude. I said fine whatever it happens. Next time I come they tell me they don't have white rice and I have to wait 15 minutes for it to be done. Like how do you run out of something so essential in your orders. Not like it was closing time either. Again, love waba grill come here all the time but the one here at Vanowen and balboa is pretty disappointing. read more

Went in today for my usual steak bowl and came out with a shrimp bowl simply because I seen another customer trying it and it looked so yummy. The shrimp has such good clean flavor and the sauce just makes it so much better. Try the coconut water with a shrimp bowl and their goals a heck of a meal. Thumbs up!!!! read more

I went to this WaBa today at 3:10ish pm (WaBa can figure out the names of employees). There was ONE couple eating and I was the only person in line. The girl at the register was clearly ending her shift so she did not look up at me once, not even to say, "someone will be with you in a minute." I waited. While I was ordering, a family of four came in behind me. I finished, put a tip in the tip jar, and moved to the side. I was #50 and they were #51. I waited and waited. I watched as the family of four were served. I waited. Finally, the guy behind the register is bagging my food. I said, "I should have gotten my food before that family." He mumbled something's I could not understand and added, it's really busy and it's not that big a deal.... EXCUSE ME?! First, really busy?! There were two orders, and it's basic that 50 comes before 51, not to mention my order was smaller than theirs, they were dining in while I was taking out, and I tipped this jackass!! And he's in a customer service job. I was in a huge hurry, and not wanting to have to explain what good customer service is to someone who obviously couldn't care less, I told him that I should take my tip back and left. Lesson: Tip after getting you food and go to a different WaBa, the customer service here sucks!! read more

Waba Grill is definitely one of my favorite lunch spots. I usually order the salmon salad but today I ordered a shrimp salad with ranch. It was extremely clean, lean and healthy. The service was great and they gave my food in a timely manner. Will definitely come back and bring my co-workers since I work close by. Will try the tofu veggie bowl next! read more
