Tacos and burritos are something that I love to enjoy and the ability to make your taco or even a burrito is even better. Wacky Nachos is a fairly new restaurant in the former Legends Cafe in New Albany so for those familiar with the interior such as myself know that it's a very relaxed environment and the seating is much of the same except for the removal of the bar and alcoholic beverages. However, what makes Wacky Nachos a great fit for this particular size of restaurant is that it doesn't need to take up as much space as what came before it which provides plenty of room for moving around and doesn't feel crowded. The options for food are great considering Wacky Nachos has a special or what they call "Wacky Deals" every single day of the week that they are open from a $6 build-your-own chicken or beef burrito with a drink on Thursdays to Taco Tuesday which is 3 beef or chicken tacos and a drink for only $6. Everything is made right in front of you much like places similar to it so if you've ever been to a Qdoba or the like you'll be familiar with and know what to expect. Outside of the daily specials, Wacky Nachos offers the option for a Wacky Bowl or if you don't want a bowl or a burrito you can have Wacky Nachos instead. All options are priced very reasonably and adding white queso or bacon to whatever you decide is only an extra dollar more (as of the time of this review.) Wacky Nachos offers Pepsi products to drink, water, and other drink options, and even has a few options to satisfy your sweet tooth from cotton candy, funnel cakes and even flavored ice treats, and more. If you're ever in New Albany or happen to live there or in the surrounding areas and are looking for a new place to get your taco, nacho, or burrito fill, I recommend stopping by and checking out Wacky Nachos.

Cajun Chips, Queso, beef, tomato's, white rice, lettuce, sour cream.

Food was great, shakes were a little bit too sweet. They have different flavored chips which is really different. They were quick to get us served! Directions were very clear, they could maybe put signs up. Menus seemed to be very packed, so many items to choose from don't know where to start. But the environment is very welcoming.

This is a newly opened place and I just wanted to leave a positive review. All I really know is that I'm going to have to go again. They have different flavored chips that I believe they season themselves. That's going to create a different flavor profile for each time! First off, everything there is build to order, which is nice. I had the nachos with ground beef, black olives, jalapeños, refried beans, salsa, queso, onion, guacamole and some sour cream. The nachos were very good for what nachos are... and that's not a knock! Nachos are just simple. But they do simple well. In addition to the quality nachos and quesadillas that they have, the staff was super friendly and explained everything well. Give them a few minutes as they're still teaching staff on proper techniques on folding a burrito, etc. I hope this place lasts, it's a good quick addition to the area!

I love anywhere I can get a ton of a food for a really good price. They had generous serving sizes and you can customize any way you like! It's like a local version of Qdoba/Chipotle but better because you can use fries as a base!! They also have different flavored chips. So good, we will definitely be back

Super friendly and great value. They have Big red too. The ingredients are high quality everything real no fake Taco Bell here. As per previous reviews don't miss the daily $6 or $8 special. Also right night there's a couple Groupons too. I had 3 chicken tacos and a drink for $6. Then used a $5.20 Groupon to get a burrito for lunch. He grilled the burrito and melted some extra cheese in the seem to help keep it together. I never thought of doing that. Plenty of options for the build your own burrito. For me it was refried beans, beef, rice, cheese and sour cream. They have several veggies too. The burrito was good and evenly distributed all the filling came together nicely.

So, we simply had to stop in. It's interesting to note there's a large sign on the street, but no signage on the actual building. We were seated promptly and drinks were ordered. Chips and salsa were served. Thick, crisp chips and a hearty salsa. Not spicy, but good flavor. My wife ordered a taco salad. A substantial shell, stuffed with rice, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, chicken and topped with cheese and avocado. She brought half of it home. I ordered two flour tacos, one with chicken, one with steak. The tortillas were a bit of a disappointment. They were thick and barely heated. But the tortillas were stuffed. Chicken or beef, lettuce, tomato, and some grilled onions. Tasty. The only "fail" was the side of guacamole. To my taste, it was bland, lacking garlic, lime, any real seasoning. Still, it was a fine lunch. And we'll certainly visit again.

Today is Cinco de Mayo and I was feeling up to a delicious authentic Mexican meal. This restaurant has a variety of various Mexican dishes and albeit is rather pricey for their platters, which range from $19-$29 and appetizers from $8-$22. Also surprisingly I didn't find any sort of dessert at all unless there is a separate menu for that but I was never told that by my server, more on that later. The environment is one you'd expect of any authentic Mexican restaurant, a very colorful decor with lots of Mexican decor spread throughout with some Mexican music playing in the background to set the ambiance of this establishment granted I was sitting in the background of the seating area and couldn't hear this music if I were sitting in the front. On this visit, being my first, I decided to try the Nachos Delicias (Queso, tomato, onions, cilantro, sour cream and choice of chicken, chorizo and steak) I requested no onions and steak. I also tried their Quesadilla El Jefe Jeff (Stuffed with cheese, steak, shrimp, chicken, chorizo, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, cilantro and sour cream) I requested no onions. The nachos were really nothing too terribly special outside of just being put in a somewhat fancy bowl to make them look or appear better than they were. They didn't taste too bad outside of finding the steak to not really be all that flavorful or seasoned. I feel for the price which was $18.50, that it could've been more for what I paid for. The quesadilla was absolutely worth it and was quite filling. Definitely the star of this meal however I was disappointed to find onion in my meal when I specifically requested there to not be. Outside of that is was quite good and something I'd order again. My biggest issue was there was only one server working and of all days it was on Cinco de Mayo which you as a Mexican restaurant should expect to be busy in which they were. Our server never once stopped to ask if we needed anything, no offer of dessert (which I am still not sure they offer) or even to ask if I wanted another drink. I don't see myself going out of my way to come here albeit it wasn't awful but the price for things was too much in my opinion. I feel that I've had better food for a lower price at other authentic Mexican restaurants. So just keep this in mind when deciding to stop here.

My first warning was the decrepit sign over the door in a dilapidated strip center. But, as the saying goes, "don't judge a book by its cover." The food was good. Not great. My usual order is fajitas, this time a chicken, steak, and chicken combo. The plate was served sizzling. Served with 3 small tortillas and the usual fixin's. El Mexicano doesn't serve any beans other than refried, so, no option for black beans, pinto or borracho. The shrimp in the dish were perfect, the chicken was dried out and there were about 6 little strips of steak. The grilled onions and peppers were very good. My wife's shrimp dish was very salty. She prefers the interpretation of Shrimp Mexicana at others Mexican restaurants. And for good measure, because we asked for some lime to squeeze on the shrimp and they tacked on $2 to the bill. But what really resulted in my barely average review was the cleanliness of El Mexicano; or rather, the lack of it. You'll notice a yellow bucket that hangs on the wall in the dining room, yes, in full sight of diners. I witnessed a server drop something on the floor, grab a cloth from the bucket and clean the floor. Then, she returned the cleaning cloth to the bucket. Moments later, another server used the same cloth to clean tables! The health department would have a hissy fit if they saw this. Worse, when I mentioned this to the manager, he was indifferent. I know he understood me, he just didn't care. If the manager is so indifferent to such an obvious health hazard, I can't fathom what goes on in the kitchen. El Mexicano is a "one and done" for us.

But I felt La Lupita had slipped a bit. Initial service was excellent, we were greeted and seated promptly. Drinks were served and our order was taken. But once the food was brought to the table, our server was nowhere to be found. Refill for ice tea? Nope. We ordered one set of corn and one set of flour tortillas and got two orders of corn. It took us quite a while to find the server to get the error corrected. The complementary chips and salsa were way off. The chips were stale and they switched to a green salsa. Admittedly, a personal preference, but I liked the red better. My wife enjoyed her usual- camarones Mexicano. Served sizzling and perfectly done. I don't recall the mixed fajitas (my usual) as being so greasy. Again, served hot. Lots of peppers, onions, & grilled tomatoes. No jalapeños. I could have asked for some as a side and I'm sure they would accommodate. I also found it odd that La Lupita doesn't offer any beans other than refried. We asked for black beans or pinto or borracho. They're not offered. Yet they were able to serve refried black beans instead of the usual borracho or pinto refried version. Prices, inevitably, were up since our last visit. La Lupita is still a favorite for authentic Mexican food. We just caught them on an off day and it was still way ahead of most Mexican restaurants.
