Waffle House offers all day breakfast and comfort diner food. The all-star special was a phenomenal deal because it included a full size breakfast for $15; coffee and juice are not included. The toast was on the soft side, but it was great for dipping into the egg yolks. The grits were thick and creamy. The bacon was cooked crisp and brittle with minimal amount of grease. Based on the restaurant name, it was a no-brainer that I explored the waffle. It was a thinner waffle, but it still had a soft chewier texture. (Typically, I would expect Belgian waffles to be softer because they are thicker.) This waffle was decent, but it would not have won any waffle competition. The people next to us didn't get their food either. Our server was also the cashier. She was eating a waffle with her hands at the front counter. We watched our food get served to other people and we continued to wait. The people next to us asked her what was going on and she told us the food was burned.....what an odd thing to say in an open kitchen style restaurant where we can see everything going on. This is my second time eating here, both times before a basketball game. The first (last month) time absolutely was terrible, our server didn't ask us if we wanted any refills, bring a second cup of coffee, check on our food, or take a single thing away as we were eating. Honestly, my worst Waffle House experience ever... That server was rude, got mad at another table because they didn't want to sit in her section, because the table and seats were not cleaned... she shouldn't work in the hospitality service. They only have one male server here; he seems really cool and takes care of people. Due to the location of this Waffle House, the staff have to deal with a lot of interesting characters, you name it, you will probably see it here. This probably doesn't help their mood, and unfortunately, that is just a part of their job, so if you do get a good server here, tip them well. My friends and I came here after going to the aquarium and the coke factory. It is on the other side of the park and since we went at like 3 pm we were able to get seated right away. It was al of ours first time at waffle house so we ordered breakfast. I am a breakfast 24/7 kind of person. I love breakfast food. I got the hashbrown with eggs and sausage on top. The food came out pretty quickly, and it was pretty tasty. I tried some of my friends waffle and it was so freaking good!! We stumbled upon here. We spent the day at the aquarium and cola factory. Then we walked around the park and saw this waffle house. We were planning on eating at a waffle house sometime during our trip, so why not. The service was a bit chaotic as we did not know who was our server or at the end how to pay. Located directly across from the world famous Centennial Park, this Waffle House was the perfect start to a few days in Atlanta, as our hotel was located not too far away. Upon entering the staff, as expected was just as welcoming as all Waffle Houses across the country, but this one seemed a little bit more elevated as they had televisions mounted on the wall and shared history facts about the restaurant "in case you didn't know". Given the location, it makes total sense. As for our food, I stuck with my go-to... All-Star Special, but instead of my grits in a bowl, I ordered some hashbrowns via my kids' request... and of course, I had to have a sweet tea (yeah, at 7:30 am). Customer service was great. Food was good, and it was the perfect start to an early morning in Atlanta. If you're not in walking distance, there is a parking lot located behind the building. Parking is not free. I ordered the All-Star Special and while it was OK, it doesn't rival iHop or Roscoe's. The waffles were OK. I thought they'd be a bit more special and tasteful given it's part of the name. The eggs were fine, the bacon was crispy, hash browns were overcooked and hard. The biscuit was terrible. It tasted like it was cooked on a grill that hadn't been cleaned in over a month. Some entrées looked really tasty where perhaps need to try them by finding the Waffle House back home. Soon a big waffle was placed in front of me with the words WAFFLE HOUSE imprinted on it. We were so excited, coming from California, to visit an authentic Waffle House, that we got up at 6:15 a.m. and walked in the bitter February cold to the location. There were 8 of us. Sadly, a sign indicated it was Online/Window Service Only until 7 a.m. We decided it was worth the wait! There were literally no other people on the street. We pointed out that with To Go food we didn't need assistance - just a warm place to eat. They still said NO, so we all hobbled back to our hotel. This location is in downtown Atlanta, right by the Peachtree Center station and Centennial Olympic Park. When we visited, it was busy. Yet, we only had to wait five minutes until a booth opened up for the two of us. The menu is straightforward with breakfast classics as their go-to, which of course includes, waffles. There's nothing fancy or elevated about this place, but that's the appeal of it. It's straight up southern, country food that's made to order. I had the classic breakfast special, which came with two eggs, hashbrowns or grits (I chose hashbrowns), choice of protein, toast and a waffle. Food was simple and satisfactory. Nothing special about it, but it does its job of satisfying your hunger. The waffle was the best part, especially with the Waffle House butter and syrup. Yes, it's bad for you, but what southern cooking isn't? I'd like to try the loaded hashbrowns next time, which I hear is a must.
