I usually don't steer too far from what I order at a place. Or when I'm in a region I will most likely get the same thing at multiple different restaurants. After a long week, it was time for some winding down and eating of food. Needed something comforting. Like hardcore comforting. This being on our way to our final destination we poured into a booth and had menus in hand. To continue on trend for the area, I went with Biscuits and Gravy with a side of hash browns. This was just hitting the whole week. I was hoping to continue the streak. However, that streak hit the skids. While sipping on my sweet tea, sitting with my colleagues, you get to take in the show behind the counter. You hear the hustle, you see the bustle, and get get all the T, not just the sweet variety. I know it is their workplace, but you get to hear everything. While our food was being prepared I heard them say that the gravy had turned. Funny thing was that I had made eye contact with the staffer saying this. What unraveled was almost comical. Food started coming out. Plate after plate my colleagues had their food and started to dig in. My hash browns did show up and I started to dig into them. As my colleague's plates emptied out, they still had not replaced the gravy. Then they had to ask that if I wanted to wait for the gravy. I was not going to make my colleagues sit around and wait for the gravy to be ready. Mind you, we were in here for at least a half hour at this point. And then to have them stare at me while I take my time to down my food...yeah, I'll pass on the awkward. I asked for it to be taken off the bill. Otherwise, this location is rather busy, nearly all the time. But it does look like they shift around how you can order. There is a television screen that cycles through the same 3-5 minute reel, it can get really annoying when you are waiting for your food...especially if they are making fresh gravy. I had just flown in from Chicago and wanted breakfast food. It was noon and most places were serving lunch now. We walked into one place that recommended the Waffle House down the street and we were sold. As soon as we walked in everyone was so nice. I got the chicken protein bowl and my bf got the waffle and chicken sausage. The protein bowl was so filling. I loved the chicken! It was cooked to perfection, nice and moist and extremely flavorful. The toast is served with butter in between and it's so delicious. The waffle is not as fluffy as the pictures but was one of the best waffles I've ever had. Based on the restaurant name, it was a no-brainer that I explored the waffle. It was a thinner waffle, but it still had a soft chewier texture. The food ok how do I start I ordered I think the all star so grant it, it's a decent potion it came with eggs a meat I got chicken sausage waffle hash brown or grits and a biscuit. The food comes to you separately. First my waffle came 5-10 minutes later my eggs and a biscuit. I told the lady I think they for got my sausage she said everything comes out separate that came 5 minutes later. Time my full meal came it was all cold. Didn't enjoy it. The silverware was dirty so I ask for hot water or new ones they said we can give hot water unless I brought tea so they gave plastic ones. The services wasn't good at all. Busy! This location is buzzing with activity from all the near by foot traffic. The service suffered in several area due to this. The meal I ordered never came. The people next to us didn't get their food either. Our server was also the cashier. She was eating a waffle with her hands at the front counter. We watched our food get served to other people and we continued to wait. The people next to us asked her what was going on and she told us the food was burned.....what an odd thing to say in an open kitchen style restaurant where we can see everything going on. This is my second time eating here, both times before a basketball game. The first (last month) time absolutely was terrible, our server didn't ask us if we wanted any refills, bring a second cup of coffee, check on our food, or take a single thing away as we were eating. Honestly, my worst Waffle House experience ever... That server was rude, got mad at another table because they didn't want to sit in her section, because the table and seats were not cleaned... she shouldn't work in the hospitality service. They only have one male server here; he seems really cool and takes care of people. This probably doesn't help their mood, and unfortunately, that is just a part of their job, so if you do get a good server here, tip them well. Located directly across from the world famous Centennial Park, this Waffle House was the perfect start to a few days in Atlanta, as our hotel was located not too far away. Upon entering the staff, as expected was just as welcoming as all Waffle Houses across the country, but this one seemed a little bit more elevated as they had televisions mounted on the wall and shared history facts about the restaurant "in case you didn't know". Given the location, it makes total sense. As for our food, I stuck with my go-to... All-Star Special, but instead of my grits in a bowl, I ordered some hashbrowns via my kids' request... and of course, I had to have a sweet tea (yeah, at 7:30 am). Customer service was great. Food was good, and it was the perfect start to an early morning in Atlanta. If you're not in walking distance, there is a parking lot located behind the building. Parking is not free. During our visit we were excited to have a Waffle House close to the hotel. We stopped by for breakfast, drinks Coffee & Iced tea not bad. Main dish I had Waffle & side of eggs, scramble , man those waffles are just so good, eggs were good as well. Hubby had the The All star special , waffle, eggs, bacon, biscuit & grits , sounds like a lot & well depending how starving u are it can be a lot , we probably had half our meal but no biggie made for great leftovers the next morning. Hats off to them for being able to pull it off by themselves. They served us the best that they could. The food was good, it wasn't the best. It kinda tasted like something you could make at home. The portions and price are fair IMO. The place is nice, you have views of the park. There's enough space on your table for your plate. Eventually I was let in and guided to sit at the bar (chef's table). The menu had a lot of options but was here to try the pancakes. I ordered the Classic Waffle. By seating at the bar I was able to experience seeing all types of food being prepared and how the staff was working like a well oiled machine. Some entrées looked really tasty where perhaps need to try them by finding the Waffle House back home. Soon a big waffle was placed in front of me with the words WAFFLE HOUSE imprinted on it. I was provided with butter and syrup. The waffle was soft with a nice buttery taste to it. It was what I was expecting, a very good waffle. The flavor was delicious.
