Busy! This location is buzzing with activity from all the near by foot traffic. The service suffered in several area due to this. The meal I ordered never came. The people next to us didn't get their food either. Our server was also the cashier. She was eating a waffle with her hands at the front counter. We watched our food get served to other people and we continued to wait. The people next to us asked her what was going on and she told us the food was burned.....what an odd thing to say in an open kitchen style restaurant where we can see everything going on. The first (last month) time absolutely was terrible, our server didn't ask us if we wanted any refills, bring a second cup of coffee, check on our food, or take a single thing away as we were eating. That server was rude, got mad at another table because they didn't want to sit in her section, because the table and seats were not cleaned... she shouldn't work in the hospitality service. This was a complete 180 compared to last month. characters If you come here, sit at the counter instead of a booth, and hope you get a better server. They only have one male server here; he seems really cool and takes care of people. My friends and I came here after going to the aquarium and the coke factory. It is on the other side of the park and since we went at like 3 pm we were able to get seated right away. It was al of ours first time at waffle house so we ordered breakfast. I am a breakfast 24/7 kind of person. I love breakfast food. I got the hashbrown with eggs and sausage on top. The food came out pretty quickly, and it was pretty tasty. I tried some of my friends waffle and it was so freaking good!! We were planning on eating at a waffle house sometime during our trip, so why not. The service was a bit chaotic as we did not know who was our server or at the end how to pay. Located directly across from the world famous Centennial Park, this Waffle House was the perfect start to a few days in Atlanta, as our hotel was located not too far away. Upon entering the staff, as expected was just as welcoming as all Waffle Houses across the country, but this one seemed a little bit more elevated as they had televisions mounted on the wall and shared history facts about the restaurant "in case you didn't know". Given the location, it makes total sense. As for our food, I stuck with my go-to... All-Star Special, but instead of my grits in a bowl, I ordered some hashbrowns via my kids' request... and of course, I had to have a sweet tea (yeah, at 7:30 am). Customer service was great. Food was good, and it was the perfect start to an early morning in Atlanta. If you're not in walking distance, there is a parking lot located behind the building. Parking is not free. My hubby and I were here from Chicago and everyone on the Tik Toc was talking about go to the Waffle House when you go to the ATL. I couldn't wait to go eat at this restaurant. Both orders of hash brown was cooked to hard and it was crunchy, the Texas toast was burnt ,and my chicken breast was chopped and cooked to long where it was dry. I guess there's a reason why Waffle House is more known for the fights that take place at their establishments than their food. I decided to try Waffle House for the first time. I ordered the All-Star Special and while it was OK, it doesn't rival iHop or Roscoe's. The waffles were OK. I thought they'd be a bit more special and tasteful given it's part of the name. The eggs were fine, the bacon was crispy, hash browns were overcooked and hard. The biscuit was terrible. It tasted like it was cooked on a grill that hadn't been cleaned in over a month. We were quickly seated in a booth and the staff was very attentive. I heard the hashbrown bowls were a must try. The Bacon, Egg & Cheese hashbrowns are crispy with a good amount of bacon and eggs, it's a very filling dish. The All-Star Special is an amazing value that included two eggs, your way, toast, waffle and I tried grits. I wasn't a fan of grits, but I'm glad I at least tried it. We were so excited, coming from California, to visit an authentic Waffle House, that we got up at 6:15 a.m. and walked in the bitter February cold to the location. There were 8 of us. Sadly, a sign indicated it was Online/Window Service Only until 7 a.m. We decided it was worth the wait! The food preparation took enough time that it was suddenly 4 minutes till 7 a.m. Freezing, we decided to eat our meal in the sheltered dining room. I knocked on the window. The server said we would NOT be permitted to do so since we had ordered our food To Go - as if we had had a choice! I pointed out the time again and they said their workers always run late, so they couldn't let us in the dining room and if they did, everyone would want in... There were literally no other people on the street. We pointed out that with To Go food we didn't need assistance - just a warm place to eat. They still said NO, so we all hobbled back to our hotel. The food was simple - boring, unflavored, and cold. The ambiance and Southern hospitality may have made a difference - we'll never know. They were just plain cruel! Some entrées looked really tasty where perhaps need to try them by finding the Waffle House back home. Soon a big waffle was placed in front of me with the words WAFFLE HOUSE imprinted on it. My partner and I had planned to visit the Georgia Aquarium, but needed some sustenance beforehand, and I saw there was this Waffle House nearby. Never having been to Waffle House, it had always been on my bucket list to try, especially since others had told me about their fandom for it. This location is in downtown Atlanta, right by the Peachtree Center station and Centennial Olympic Park. When we visited, it was busy. Yet, we only had to wait five minutes until a booth opened up for the two of us. The menu is straightforward with breakfast classics as their go-to, which of course includes, waffles. There's nothing fancy or elevated about this place, but that's the appeal of it. It's straight up southern, country food that's made to order. I had the classic breakfast special, which came with two eggs, hashbrowns or grits (I chose hashbrowns), choice of protein, toast and a waffle. Food was simple and satisfactory. Nothing special about it, but it does its job of satisfying your hunger. The waffle was the best part, especially with the Waffle House butter and syrup. Yes, it's bad for you, but what southern cooking isn't? I'd like to try the loaded hashbrowns next time, which I hear is a must. We got up paid and were out. Pretty seamless. I ordered the hash bowl and my guy ordered a Texas toast sandwich, and we shared a plain waffle. All of these items were perfectly cooked, seasoned and hot. Delicious!!! The second time we came in, the line to dine in was long. I knew that it would be a short wait but after waiting so long at a different place the day before, we decided to place a to-go order. This process was super simple and we were out of there with our food within 20 min. The only thing I didn't like was that we would have been next to sit if we had waited in line so the timing would have essentially been the same. But we ate in the park and had some good people watching. I ordered a biscuit sandwich. Those biscuits. My mouth is watering as I type this.
