Texas bacon Bacon Texas Cheesesteak Melt With Hashbrowns. It was the bomb!
    Rob M.

Stopped here AFTER a LONG day of car shopping that ended after 9:30 at night. There is literally nothing open late anymore here due to the Corona virus Restrictions in place at this times that forces restaurants to close early. We were greeted immediately (with a smile) andsat right down and were quickly taken care of as there was only 1 other person in the house. Great food cooked to order and great service tonight. I got the Bacon Texas Cheesesteak Melt With Hashbrowns. (see pic) Would have been a 5 star review BUT my wife swears she saw a "creepy crawly" running across the floor, but it is a Waffle House !

Had I realized that spending $33 on food that was gonna come out burnt and with the wrong toppings, I would've saved myself the disappointment and cooked for myself.

Dirty. Several open tables uncleared even as I stood waiting. Unfriendly service. Not at all what I expect from WH.

Always good service and super fast super good breakfast food for a fair price! You can't beat a old fashioned omlette.

Think black-and-white checkered floors, red/chrome chairs and counter stools, a soundtrack of '50s and '60s classics, and waitresses happily singing along while they work. The atmosphere feels welcoming, lived-in, and full of personality. The food is straightforward, affordable, and exactly what you'd hope for from a classic American breakfast. You don't come here for an açaí bowl or an eggs Benedict flight--you come because you're hungry, you want your eggs cooked right, and you know you'll be taken care of. Places like this become community staples for a reason. The service was warm, the energy in the room was contagious, and the whole experience reminded me why diners like this make me so happy. We'll definitely be back, and next time I'm looking forward to trying the lunch menu.

I first tried…read moreCanal Wigwam about a decade ago (I have lived in Canal for 13 years now) and had such a poor experience that I didn't return until today. I thought that I would give it a shot again, but the food was just as disappointing as my first try. The service is great though! Everyone seems to be friendly and kind! We stopped by around 10 AM today (Saturday). Every table was full (so clearly others do like the food/service). My husband and I started off with a cup of coffee while our daughter got a glass of chocolate milk. The coffee was watery and bland (although they have a sign up front about having the world's best coffee). Be prepared to wait a while for your food. It took almost 45 minutes for us to get ours; however, it was understandable considering every table was full! For food, my daughter got the cinnamon roll. She absolutely loved it! She said that it was super soft and ooey-gooey! My husband ordered the steak and eggs. He ordered the steak medium, but it came out very well-done (super chewy). I tried his home fries with his side of bacon and both of those were good! My daughter enjoyed the bacon too! I had the biscuits and gravy and a side of "cheesy" scrambled eggs. A big no to both! The biscuits were undercooked and the gravy just tasted like a large clump of flour! The "cheesy" scrambled eggs were tough scrambled eggs with some shredded cheese sprinkled on the top! While the food was not "it" for me, there are other things that I do enjoy about Canal Wigwam! It's a cute little diner located in the center of our comforting and cozy town! They promote many other local businesses through their "decor" - the dining tables are designed with local businesses flyers/contact information, their coffee mugs promote another local business, etc. Again, I really want to like the food here, but for some reason - my taste buds do not agree!

Charming decor and friendly staff. However, my experience was ruined due to an error on my take out order. I placed an order for three additional meals with an add on order of sausages. Easy, right? I initially thought so, so I wasn't concerned about my order being incorrect. I get home and my order is missing main items like pancakes, french toast, utensils, and it looked as if the order was just slapped together. I call immediately and I explained that I just had an eaten there and then ordered additional takeout and my takeout order was incorrect. The nice young lady apologized and offered to have it remade. Now I accepted that and also stated since I have to come back up there what other compensation can you provide me. She then transfers me to the incredibly Customer Service oriented manager named Juan. I do hope you can sense the sarcasm. As I explained my situation to him stating what items have been missed, what was wrong with the order and what I expected ask a reasonable solution to this situation. He then goes on and asked me several questions over and over again about the takeout meal, I explained to him one more time to which he cut me off, overtalked me, and really wasn't listening to resolve my issue. When he asked again what I ordered I said I already told you. At which point, he cursed and said he did not want to be "a$$ hole" and basically gave me the impression that he was unwilling to fix this situation. So I told him I was going to speak to him in a nicer tone that he was talking to me that I wanted him to remake the meal. I would be there in 10 minutes and I would like it piping hot. To Juan's credit my food was ready once I arrived however, he proceeds to tell me that his waitress and his expediter both checked the order and it was correct when it left. Which wasn't true obviously. As a matter of fact, my friend said she watched the waitress grab the bag and didn't open it and just came to the table. I don't have a reason to go get free food from an establishment where I've already paid and tipped the server. Second of all he indirectly called me a liar to my face, which is poor service in its own right. Thirdly, when I asked what other compensation he was willing to provide me, he just simply smiled and said no he wasn't going to do anything. Juan needs to go back to the beginning of where Customer Service starts in order to be a better front of the house manager, because when your server makes an error, you own it you do not place the blame back on the customer. Juan needs to be retrained on how to actually service people, he does not know how to talk to anyone. He did not know how to de-escalate the situation. I have been in Customer Service for 25 years and 15 of those have been working in an escalation department that was the worst interaction I believe I have ever encountered with a manager to resolve a situation. I mean Wendy's resolved issues better than this. Being that this was my first time coming to Delaney's, it will also be my last time. Because if you treat any customers the way you treated me, is clear he has no respect for the patrons of this establishment.

I really enjoyed the style of this diner, such a throwback to old school clientele, and had such a nostalgic feel to it. I remember my dad taking my brother and I to spots like this in Oklahoma growing up, and thought it was just right to take my son here and not just enjoy some quality time with my son, but to enjoy some breakfast. Now we didn't order anything fancy, honestly, I wasn't really hungry, so I ordered the Avocado toast, and my son had the oatmeal bowl. To be honest, I really like how simple this food was, but in all truth, how really delicious it was too. The eggs were cooked just how I like them, the fresh taste of the avocado was on point. My son enjoyed his oatmeal and brown sugar. The young man waiting our table (Logan), was a good kid, quick to take our order, quick on the coffee, and extremely polite. No doubt the manager knows, that kid is a keeper. The establishment was very clean, and just had a clean shine to it. Best part was just enjoying time with my son, and showing him how important that family time really is. Will we come back, no question we will.

We ordered a pancake in addition to the omelet and both were mediocre and nothing memorable. The omelet toppings did taste fresh but there was an overwhelming amount of american cheese inside. I don't think I would return in the future.

It's an old house and the inside is super cute. The actual coffee shop is in the garage so they open the garage door cuz it was a gorgeous day outside. The pastries all looked delicious. The cashier was not warm whatsoever. I ordered two drinks and two pastries, scones to be exact. My drinks took a little over 10 minutes to be ready (which was not bad given how busy they were) but I still hadn't received my pastries. What was frustrating was that people who ordered after me HEATED pastries had already gotten their orders yet I hadn't received mines that just needed to be bagged? I kindly told the cashier I was still waiting for my scones and I could tell she had clearly forgotten about them. She shortly gave them to me with no apology for the delay or anything. When I got home, one of the scones I had ordered was the wrong flavor. They were also extremely dry. If you're in a rush, be mindful that the pour over coffee takes a little longer to make. I am completely dissatisfied with the service today. I might give their other location a try but this one is a no for me.
