I love Waffle House. After 8 years of living in the west Coast and not having this place, I always look for a reason to go. Today's excuse was my little man's birthday, he wanted waffles for breakfast so I got to introduce him to the amazing bit of cuisine that is Waffle House. The entire staff is AMAZING. They put Lionel Richie's Happy Birthday on the jukebox for him, they all came by and wished him a happy birthday, they gave him a vinyl sticker with Happy Birthday written on it. So you're just tasting all the foods cooked on the grill everyday. They are always consistent. Food is cooked fast... most of the staff here are very kind!!! This is my favorite Waffle House in the 804 area. It's always clean, and it has great vibes. The cook always delivers. It's the one place I know the food is always gonna be A1. I currently live in Los Angeles but visit Richmond five times a year and it's one of the first places I go to because unfortunately California doesn't have a Waffle House. But even if your busy you should acknowledge you customers as they come in. And how is the couple after me is served before me? Hmm, something is wrong with this picture. Oh is because they sat down in front ok well I still arrived before them. Ok whatever! I ended up ordering the Texas Cheesesteak sandwich only. It was really good but not worth the price. 9.31 for just a sandwich at Waffle House that's crazy. I should've gotten the meal I believe that was 10.50 or something but I figured no because the hash browns would've been cold by time I got back home. Why stay open all night when you don't have staffing that actually wants to do their job? Came late night while working and was met with eye rolls and a very nasty demeanor. I thought you were supposed to wrap up in a blanket and look at your phone all night when you're off not at work, didn't mean to disturb you. I thought this was a late night option for food. Tables were dirty and still had old dishes on them from previous customers. Just a suggestion but why not go ahead and clean up while it's slow? It makes time go by quicker. We were very disappointed today. We stopped coming to this location about 9 months ago because the staff were arguing and yelling the whole time Today we decided to try again. All my food was cold and we were sitting at the counter so we knew when our food was ready The cook was very disorganized and didn't care she made all the hash browns sausage and toast then she started my husbands vegetables for his omelet made my fried eggs but didn't bring us food until the moldy was made Mary and her young coworker were slamming dishes and throwing silverware and laughing saying don't make so much noise My knife had dried food on it Very disappointed again won't come back read more

Don't go thinking it's like a Southern Waffle House where all the staff is nice and talkative but it isn't.

Good dependable food at a great value. Breakfast dishes such as hash browns, waffles, and eggs are done very well. This is a value and even when busy wait time is short. You can ask for wheat toast and sugar free syrup for your waffle. The pecan waffles are the best. The customized hash browns are very good. The hamburgers are average, but a good value. Of all the staff we have only found one that comes close to being acceptable, Chelsea. We lovingly refer to the others by descriptive names...No Smile or Botox, Loud and Obnoxious or Tammy Fay's cousin, Young and Inexperienced, etc....the cook staff, well let's just not go there. The food is always inconsistent. The temperature is either so cold you need a coat (not a sweater or jacket) or so hot you need to shred as much as possible. read more
