It's a waffle house. Good food at an affordable price. We came here for father's day, and I think the rest of the dads I saw here had the same idea. You know none of us wanted to overpay for the same food dressed up with nice ambience. I can't believe the lady that served us has been working there for 40+years. To be honest I don't EVER review fast food restaurants because it's more of the same. They usually suck in every location. This Waffle House though is the exception. Waffle House is just one of those places you go to in the middle of the night because McDonald's is completely out of the question. Not from here so I don't feel the same love for it as most so you're not going to get those Lies from me lol When I do have to eat here, I get the all star. First time eating at this location. It's a lot more spacious than the other locations. I ordered the usual veggie omelette with hash browns. I always request egg white. I was very specific about egg whites and low and behold they bring full yoke! So the cook says he never heard of it??! . The mgr told him to hold the yoke and ham. The hash brown s were cold and I honestly believe they were the same hash browns on the previous order. Other than that it was ok. I'll come back if I'm in the area. It's really sad, when I came in the guy who took my order (forgot to initially call it in) was talking to another employee begging them to come in b/c they needed help, someone had called out. Got an All Star Special for only $7.00: waffle, two eggs with grits or hash browns, toast, and breakfast meat (bacon, ham or sausage)! Food arrived promptly with hot eggs as ordered; everything tasted delicious. When I went yesterday morning, there were more servers than patrons, but most of the tables were dirty. After asking someone to wipe a table down for us, there was a brief verbal altercation between the employee that cleaned the table and the one that should have cleaned it. I'm more of an IHOP person, but whenever I crave a little beef (because I don't buy it when I shop for my house), the Waffle House is where I go. However, this was my first time visiting get the location on Pleasant Hill, and I have nothing to complain about! The food was seasoned to perfection (unusual for Waffle House). Actually said "burn em to a crisp". Her food came out first, and sent the hash browns back. They came back the next time and looked exactly the same. Meanwhile, I waited on my complex order of the two egg breakfast. When it came the grits were not even edible. Thought I'd eat the eggs anyway, but while scooping my first bite I saw a hair in them! Came here with friends hoping for food with time to spare of a whole hour, but we still haven't received our food after about 35 minutes. The person who took our order seemed nice, but always replied that the food was cooking. We're now barely having time to spare, but we still haven't gotten the food we ordered and it wasn't even that much. Other Waffle Houses have given food quicker. I'm here hungry after not eating for 12 hours, and all I smell and see is food. Other people who've gotten here after us have gotten their food way before us. My friends and I didn't come to sit here for 40 minutes hungry to not get our food on time. The service here is horrible from our point of view although many other customers seem to be receiving great service. This is was the closest Waffle House, but we don't see ourselves going here ever again. We'd rather pay more for a Lyft to a further Waffle House with better service. Update: As we were about to leave, a different waitress who was nicer asked us what we were waiting for and checked on our food. It turns out our food wasn't even cooking, so she re-asked our orders, but we had to leave. We didn't end up paying for the drinks, and we left. Chemical cleaner in my orange juice, eggs that were over cooked, and hash browns bland with a tiny piece of cheese. Service was fast and the waitress smiled, BUT when I pointed out my orange juice tasted like commercial cleaner, she told me it's ALL THE ORANGE JUICE and would I like something different. I got a lemonade that again tasted like chemical cleaner. I didn't drink much of either drinks and after 20 minutes my throat was on fire. I love most waffle houses but avoid this one like the plague! Second time in a row I got bad food from this waffle house. We wanted to leave but the waitress would not bring us our check so I ended up just walking out. However, this was 3 years ago so I figured I'd give them another chance today.
