We drove out of our way to come since it was my sister's birthday and she was nostalgic about Shoney's and this was the closest one (about an hour away.) Our drinks came right out and we went to the breakfast bar. I was not expecting such a huge selection of food. At least 2 kinds of biscuits, multiple different gravies, breakfast casseroles, hashbrowns, grits, fried bologna, bacon, eggs, sausage patties, sausage links, pancakes, French toast, fried apples, strawberry shortcake, dirty rice, A SALAD BAR that included a fruit selection, fried potatoes, mushrooms, Philly steak, and MORE!!!! Now let's be honest...this is a BUFFET. Some of the food was fresher than others but I saw them replace numerous items during our visit. Nothing tasted off and some food was better than others, but overall, I believe this was a excellent deal for $15/per person. Sharon was our waitress and kept our drinks topped off and plates cleared away. She was a sweetheart and we really appreciated her friendliness. You could tell that the decor, furniture, etc was older but everything was clean and seemed to be in good repair. Even the bathrooms were fresh and clean. Overall, we were very happy with our visit and plan on returning when we're in the area.

We arrived about 7 AM and there were only a few customers in the restaurant browsing the breakfast buffet that was filled to the brim - honestly I thought it was a little overkill but as time passed this place looked like Walmart on Black Friday all looking for a bargain and indulgence. The staff here was on their game the kitchen was delivering pans of everything and refreshing whatever looked like it sat a little longer than it should - Wanda our wonderful server greeted us just as we were seated and dashed to get our drink orders while we took a tour of the foods on display. I'm pretty traditional when it comes to breakfast so I was looking for a mound of bacon, scrambled eggs and anything else that looked appetizing I'd consider a bonus. Honestly for $50 including gratitude for two I was a little disappointed with the quality it was a little too intuitional for me, a little bland even with a salt and pepper shaker on the table it just wasn't working. I would of been just as happy with a couple of drive-thru breakfast sandwiches for about one third of the price. The sautéed Mushrooms were like shoe leather, dry and overcooked. The Fries were cold as was the dried up poor excuse of a Burger. Too bad there is no pride in the Kitchen! Hard to beat 5 Guy's for a good Burger. Having traveled just about everywhere in the USA. My review should be taken seriously. This place needs a Kitchen Manager that cares about all the food they put out. Not just the semi fancy gourmet that they try to produce there. They did well on the first few fills. Then decided to stop even though it was at the edge of the table closest to where they could grab it and refill it. The staff was pleasant. I did not pay attention to the total at check out. When I arrived and picked it up, it was only showing two that I ordered. The employee who brought it to me vehicle talked to the manager on her microphone. She said the manager would take care if it. She came back and said they would take care of the third even though it showed 2. They were fresh and hot since it was right before lunch started.
