She was patient and engaging as my kids were indecisive. We ordered a TX chicken melt, a Texas patty melt with hash browns cooked hard, and 5 waffles. Yes, 5 waffles! No one wanted to share theirs. This was the best Waffle House I have ever been to. When we went there weren't many other people in the restaurant so it had a very nice, calming feel. The bathrooms were tidy, as was the restaurant. The service was top tier, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She made sure we were enjoying our meal and refilled our waters. You gotta love Waffle House in the south! The service is always so friendly and the ladies call you "dear" or "honey". Every customer is treated well and the place is open 24x7 for everyone, young or old, drunk or sober, tattooed or not, short or long hair, every color, every everything. The kitchen is open so you can see the line cooks memorizing the orders and cranking out the food. It's definitely a skill I do not possess. I can barely remember what I had for dinner much less what 10 people ordered in a minute. I always get grits, because it's the south, and an egg over medium. They are known for hash browns served with your choice of a zillion items mixed in like peppers, onions, ham, cheese, etc. They are also of course known for waffles! We found the experience better than expected, primarily due to the consistent attention lavished upon us by Sh'marre (possible spelling error ‍), who seemed to be the shift manager. This place is infested with roaches, while I was waiting for my food and grabbed a menu at the register a roach was under, I tried to ignore it but then I saw five roaches after while waiting for my food. I told one of the workers and she called the supervisor and said they just bombed the place. The worker tried to give us a discount and the supervisor said "idk about that" LOL. The tables were all dirty when we arrived. It would be excusable if they had been busy. The 2 cooks were great. The server asked several times if anyone had helped us and we told her no not yet because Ryan was Helping the other Gentleman I do believe that his name was Monroe cook the food. The server Bev helped several to- go customers before even coming and helping us. She never once came back to check on us and she left our drinks empty and we had ask to several times for refills to just be completely ignored. We probably sat there a total of almost 30 minutes before she even got to us. I did a to go order on top of my dine in order and it was prepared except my toast and she only put one part in my bag, I had to wait on my toast which took another 15 minutes. Also had to get everything else I needed to for my to go meal from Ryan! The 2 men deserve mad props and that lady needs to be re-trained. We spent $75.00 to have horrible service. This is a really average, decent Waffle House. Food is pretty much the same as the other waffle houses. The service here, however, is pretty bad. I've only been to this location twice and both times I had different servers who both couldn't care less about my table. At times they even seemed annoyed writing down what we wanted to eat. What a lot of people/customers dont notice is , the cooks at alot of these waffle house are not changing their gloves when going from raw meat to say cheese to go in cheese grits. They are managers also! I watched a manager fix almost 10 plates, hashbrowns add precooked toppings to hashbrowns after handling raw bacon. When coming in at 10:21pm today, me and my boyfriend were the only customers, we sat at a table that we saw as the cleanest table and it had crumbs all over it and a wadded up tissue, took them 10 minutes to even give us a menu and there was three workers there. While waiting for our food tanisha and her little dark skinned friend are screaming from one side of the building to the other right next to me. Couldnt even have a conversation, I had to keep looking at my boyfriend and asking him, "huh?" Like other waffle houses, but I feel as though service is good here. I like their waffles and their desserts - triple chocolate pie, pecan pie, apple pie and seasonal pumpkin pie. Cheap - regular pies are pretty big as such, so a place to go for people having a sweet-tooth. Hashbrowns are pretty good too. Update: Definitely missed this place after moving out of Gainesville. I am biased and gave an extra star, but this place is crowded and staff just get friendlier each time. Great tasting waffles, hash-browns and pies. Good place for late night breakfast. What dissatisfaction Table cleaned when we sat so thanks. Then we were ignored. Napkins and a half hearted "I'll be right with you" were the entire extent of our service. We sat for 10 min while the next shift put up their hair up, and the shift ending closed out their tickets. I won't be making my rounds to this Waffle House location again. I think our server was also the manager on duty (short Caucasian, heavy set lady). I came here and was seated, only to be ignored for about 15 minutes. The entire staff was all over the place with the exception of the young man rolling the utensils and the young lady sweeping the floor. When the food arrived, my waffles weren't cooked on the inside and my eggs were watery. Also, the steak had more fat than actual meat and the country ham tastes like pure salt. Our food didn't come out all at once, but in sections. If the service itself was good, I will usually rate a restaurant 3-stars or higher; however, the food was so dissatisfying that I have no choice but to rate no more than 2-stars. Arrived at this location tonight around 7:30 pm. Four booths were occupied and all the other tables had high chairs on top of the tables which is quite unsanitary. My wife asked the male behind the counter why were the tables blocked. He replied I am the only server. I'm not sure why he could only handle 4 tables. The menu is extremely simple and not complicated at all. It seems this location tries to keep customers away especially in the evening. It seems their is always an issue or problem. Their is a serious lack of consistency from day to day and hour to hour. The best part all four tables already had their food so again I'm not sure what the issue is or was other than being lazy. We left and then we saw two tables preparing to leave. It seems the issue was nothing more than laziness. Waffle House used to be a place you could count on for consistency. The Archer Rd location has changed that thought process altogether. Inconsistent, the younger servers have zero customer service, lack knowledge and work ethic. They have used every excuse to for customers to go elsewhere. This will no longer be a place we visit with any consistency. read more

I don't know if it was the humidity or a leaky roof but water dripped from the ceiling on our table the whole meal (it was raining outside). Took 10 minutes after seated to be acknowledged. Server forgot to put in our order. Kitchen collapsed and orders were being lost for our entire section. I commend the kitchen because it is basically 2-3 people cooking non stop for hours. But the servers are incompetent. Forgot half my wives order and it took over an hour for my daughter to get a waffle. The assistant manager came in for her shift about an hour after we got there. She was sweet and tried her best to fix everyone's issues. But we won't be returning to this location. A waste of a Sunday morning. read more

This was a weird, kinda gross experience. We were sat at a booth that was crotch-level to the waitresses and could see right into the "kitchen" where the sweaty cook was flipping eggs. The waitress hovered over our table the ENTIRE meal. When I say hover, I mean I could see down her shirt and she was butting into our conversation. It's called the waffle house, so I was expecting a 6 foot high belgian waffle covered in powdered sugar and gold. No. Not the case my friends. This particular waffle was thinner than a piece of tissue paper. It was burnt on the edges, dry as a bone, and tasted like pure sugary concrete. I felt so let down. Came here with my partner and his son after church and it was excellent. The service was incredible our waitress was so attentive and gracious. All 3 of us ordered the all star special and we certainly felt like all stars through the duration of our visit. Bonus they played this really great chris brown song when we were there.
