Well folks, you could pick the usual Jack in the Box, McD's or any other fast food joint...or you could pick a good old American diner. In this case, Waffle House. I first visited Waffle House when I was 12, so it holds a special place for me. Memories of dad, my brother and I having a good time. This was my second visit at this location. After all, it is a mere 3 minutes away from my apartment. I was greeted by the same two friendly faces: Brittany and the young man working the griddle. On this visit, I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich (on Texas toast) and a waffle. It is always a great experience to see your food cook up on the griddle, and seriously, how can you beat the smell of a freshly baked waffle? Food was good, as always. The waffle was crispy, just the way I like it. The chicken was tender and the Texas toast was browned to perfection. Diner's always have a sense of down home service. It feels homey and Brittany does s good job at keeping that atmosphere alive. The young man at the griddle knows his way around his kitchen. Well done! read more

I have been here several times and some how never wrote a review. The food is quick and basic but tasty nevertheless. I normally get the Grand Slam because you get a little bit of everything. The service is quick and friendly. I never come here and leave disappointed. The rating is based off there is almost always a wait. And the food is tasty there is nothing spectacular. You have to remember what to expect when you go to Waffle House. But then this location exceeds your expectations, and you feel you need to give them props. I'm so glad to give this crew props! We always have friendly service, the food is good and it is what you would expect. The star is the hash browns, especially with cheese. Eggs were ok. Bacon way to greasy! They brought food out at different times....I want my food all at once not where my eggs are cold waiting on bacon!! My Biggest Complaint is they had on the AC and it was 50 degrees outside. I want to walk in and be warm and comfortable in a restaurant, not be colder inside the building than outside. we couldnt enjoy our meal because we were freezing and it was so cold we ate as fast as possible and left to be warm!!! When I come to Waffle House at 2am, I'm not looking for "club waffle house" where the cook has a boom box blasting and the drunk a-hole at the counter telling us it's karaoke night. To top that off, all of the food was WAY overcooked and burnt ... except for the waffle, which was completely undercooked. Oh, and everything had a triple dose of salt. How hard do you have to work to screw up the 'waffle house experience'?!?!? My mom, sister and I had been looking forward to eating at waffle house for months during our visit to TX for a friends wedding. What a horrific experience. The waitress got the order wrong on 3 separate tries and had the worst look on her face the entire time we were there. Stopped for breakfast before 10am on Sunday before work. They weren't busy in fact there were 3 open tables. Waitress refused to seat me as I was alone. I won't be back to this Waffle House. Attempted to start my day with a breakfast at waffle house, thinking eating out would be a good way to start off a vacation day. This place extremely loud thanks to one particular server. Didn't get her name for her name tag wasn't visible but she spent the entire yelling out orders, slamming dishes, and flinging food. The table I was placed at was right next to the trash can were apparently the server's toss the uneaten food from the other customers. Food was literally tossed into that trash can and would splash up. One server dropped a dish and the pieces flew and hit the cook making waffles. He was bleeding and continued to make waffles. By far the worst Waffle House location I have ever been to (food wise) the waitresses were very nice, but whoever was on the grill needs to go see chef Ramsey from Hell's Kitchen or something because usually I like to order the steak and eggs here with a side of bacon, and all that was great, but it's sad when the eggs were better than the steak, whoever made it the first time put Way too much black pepper. I took one bite and said oh wow. She came up and said is it ok? I said nope they put way too much black pepper on this, so she said sorry and took it away, 5 mins later I got another one, and it's the same... she said is it ok now? I said it's still got too much black pepper on it, and she offered to fix it again. I said no it's ok, and just paid my bill and left. I don't recommend this location. read more

Man! You better not consider sending something back here! Both the waitress and the fat cook were ridiculing us openly for sending our waffles back to be cooked completely. The ones he sent out were soggy, under cooked and limp. We sent them back to get cooked more. Twenty minutes later and after several loud comments about how much "trouble" we were, we finally got our waffles. Waffle house is usually good and I come here a lot, but the manager here really needs to reel in his employees and remind them that the food reflects on the business profits and that the customer is always right. Pretty yummy and very inexpensive. I reccommend the hash browns. If you've never been to a Waffle House and you are craving some hashbrowns (do people crave hashbrowns?) go here. The biscuits and sausage gravy anre't too shabby either. Makes for a good drunken late night meal. Call in your order and take it home! I have NEVER been a fan of Waffle house, as a matter of fact I don't like it and try to make it a point not to go there unless its a last choice. This past Sunday 09/21/2014. We went to IHOP and there were lines out the door, we went to Dennys and people sitting outside waiting. (pretty typical for a Sunday afternoon so nothing different there) We didn't feel like waiting and stopped over at Waffle house. Waffle house had the shorter of the 3 lines. We put ourselves on the waiting list and waited patiently...HERES where it gets good...I stepped outside to smoke 1 cigarette and when I walked back in our table was ready. It was a spot at the bar, not my favorite but at least we were sitting to eat in a very busy place. A server quickly attended to us taking our order. As we sat I watched the kitchen crew, the wait staff etc and watched how incredibly busy they were, and man were they moving and grooving and all over the place and very quickly, there was no doubt they were slammed. Our food made it out to us, our food made it out and it wasn't bad, nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about. What impressed me was watching the staff never stop moving to attend to customers, get the food out in a timely fashion despite being slammed...there system although looked chaotic was actually very systematic and well played, NONE of the staff looked irritated or as though they didn't want to be there, they all worked as a team to get things done, they were friendly despite all that was going on...EVERYONE jumped in where needed and it was insane and to me very impressive...I don't know if it happens like that all the time or not or even if it was just that day and maybe they had their A team on staff for that sunday..but kudos to the manager and their team for pulling it off...I am STILL NOT A FAN of waffle house, but their service that sunday and watching their team work together took a place that I don't like at all and made it a pretty good experience...I believe our severs name was Kenisha, and she never stopped moving and was extremely busy, but she never lost site of us and made sure we were taken care of and did it with a smile.. I gave it 4 stars because of what I witnessed, I will not give 5 because im still not a fan of waffle house, but the service we experienced and witness made it well worth it going. read more

Okay so we go to Waffle House. The entire order was wrong. ENTIRE !! We say it's okay don't worry. So My wife's chicken was still raw and we sent it back, comes back still raw in spots. My sons hashbrowns had a big piece of plastic in it and they never refilled the coffee or came back to check on us again and the bill was $40. I'm pissed and want to tell them how it's all wrong. My wife and the kids will not let me say a word. They'd rather just pay the tab and tip the server because they say it's not her fault. WTF!!!! Normally i have had great service but tonight was not one of them. I know several staff of other shifts by name and dpnt recognize any currently my meal i ordered took them 30 minutes to make on top of that they had to make it twice and tried to serve us food for another customer. Sloup waffle mix over dripping waffle makers....looked unsanitary. floor had food debris... three tables vacate and dirty...15 minutes, were cleaned only as needed. If I could give this place 0 stars it would be too much. Minus 7 stars. Me and a few of my business associates came by after a long sales day. There was one other couple in the restaurant and were already eating. They left shorlty after. They said hello and we sat ourselves. We were never served as waited close to 20 minutes the servers all seemed too busy with themselves and their conversation to be bothered now not only that but 15inutes into our wait a young an came in and they all went and talked with him completley ignoring us. This is immeasurably unacceptable. I managed a waffle house for 2 years down in Mississippi and I am appalled by this lack of service. We walked put and never were acknowledged. Let me start off by saying I've never been to a Waffle House living most of my life in the Pacific Northwest. That being said, I've heard about them, read the reviews and went with an open mind since I love breakfast. I brought my 14 year old son with me for a late brunch during his last visit of the summer before school starts. He is quite the aficionado of breakfast, especially biscuits and gravy. He ordered the two grilled biscuits, a triple hashbrowns with country gravy and a side of city ham. I ordered their All-Star special, with scrambled eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. Service was very good and we seated ourselves, unfortunately with a view of the dirty kitchen area. Our food arrived quickly, except they forgot my waffle. My son started in on his biscuits and within two bites was completely turned off by their flavor....which was very bland, even with his extra salt and pepper he added. This meant his gravy topped hash browns would be the same. He did like his ham though. My eggs weren't really scrambled, just broken and cooked on the flat top grilled and came with uncooked egg white. The toast barely had any butter on it and only came with ONE jelly for four slices but the bacon and the hash browns were okay. Once my waffle came, my son was pretty much done with his breakfast. So we switched plates. I tasted his and while I've had worse, this was almost as bad. He did say the waffle was okay...and that we both should have stuck with ordering the waffles. One thing to note, the staff would bark orders and would all annoyingly say HELLO to every customer that walked in. Like all 8 employees. One person saying Hello would suffice. It was weird. Overall, the food was barely mediocre, at best and we both decided we could check this place off of our list and do not have to come back. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would. We came to this particular Waffle House after a long day of traveling and had gotten lost a few times trying to find a different restaurant in Katy. We came in and we were greeted nicely and sat down at a booth. The booth was filthy so I wiped it down with some wipes I had but all while being glared at by the ladies behind the counter. We continued to sit and look at the menu, we were excited because the prices seemed fair and when feeding a family of 5 finding food for a good price is a must. We waited for about 10 minutes and the waitress came over (even though the place was completely empty somehow it took ten Long minutes to get our order), we ordered but had to repeat everything because the lady taking our order didn't speak English very well at all, after repeating it she STILL couldn't get it down so we had to point out our orders on the menu at the pictures. Finally she got our order for 5 waters and food. After waiting a while for our waters she came over to tell us that they had no water at all for that day because something had broke. Fine, give me a juice box then....After ordering a salad they asked for what dressing I would like so I ordered the vinegarette then some other lady came out of the back of the kitchen to say they were out of that fine....okay, then I'll take ranch. THEN another woman came out from behind the counter to announce that the hard boiled eggs that were supposed to top my salad were unavailable because they had NO WATER for serving food. I finally cancelled my order but let my kids eat the very bland and mediocre food. Also, the coffee mug they served to my husband had some sort of dark brown goopy mess all down the side, the waitress thought just wiping it off would be acceptable but i assured her that a new mug would be the best bet in case some of that nastiness somehow got into the cup (seems logical to me). I won't even get started on the absolute hazardous condition of their restroom.... Save yourself the time, money and trouble and just find somewhere else to go! read more

First time at any Waffle House ever! I must say I enjoyed my meal. I got the steak and egg with toast, hash brown, and a side of strawberry waffles. I made close the cheese and egg version for my eggs. Hash brown was okay, not a fan. Everything else was very good. Will definitely return! read more
