Wow. I'm from Georgia. So I go to Waffle House all the time one of my favorite places. My wife and I walked in and sat at the high top counter. A waitress handed us menus and said she would be right with us. She must have walked back past us 5 or 6 times. Didn't ask what we wanted to drink didn't ask anything. We got up and walked out. Went to Waffle House yesterday as I often do, however, my last 2 visits have been bad enough that I am going to buy my own waffle maker and make my own from here out. 2 weeks ago, we had Rose as our server. She was not pleasant at all. She took our order like we were a huge inconvenience and she was doing us a favor. The restaurant was busy so the food took a little while but that was expected. When Rose brought the food, she put it down and forgot about us. I had asked for crispy bacon and my waffle light. The waffle was dark and the bacon was soggy. So I left the bacon at the edge of the table and did not eat or touch it. I was able to deal with the waffle, so I ate it. Rose never asked how every thing was, or noticed that I had not touched the bacon. Seems like it never even crossed her mind that maybe something was wrong with it. I always tip 20% or more, but Rose barely got 15% and only because after everything I was still trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. Yesterday, I had a different server. I ordered the same thing, the same way as always, waffle light and bacon extra crispy. The bacon was good but enter Rose. She wasn't even my server and she still managed to mess up my meal. When the lady that was preparing the waffle put it on the plate, Rose walks by and sees that it is light. She asked the other employee about it. The lady tells her it was supposed to be light. ROSE NOW POKES THE WAFFLE WITH HER BARE UN-GLOVED FINGER. Then Rose asks my server if she had a light waffle. My server says yes. I pointed this out to my server when she brought the waffle. She looked horrified and offered to get me another. I did not send the waffle back because I have seen and heard too many horror stories about sending food back and if Rose is already putting her bare finger in it, god knows what else she would do. Unfortunately, Rose has destroyed my experience at Waffle House in Key Largo 2 different times now. There will not be a third. read more

This was the worst Waffle House experience I have ever had. We walked in and sat down and the waitress came over to us, not to greet us or ask how we were, she said "you ready to order yet?" We proceeded to order and wait for the food, part of the order came over and we sat there with our food and no silverware, thinking she would come back with them. She went over to the corner and sat down on her phone. So we asked another waitress who got us our silverware. They then overcooked our waffle to almost burnt. Not once did anyone ask how our meal was or if we needed anything. Not to mention they were not busy at all. I've been going to this Waffle House for years with my son every weekend never have I been treated so rudely by the staff sat at a table with my son and he 2 friends for 20 minutes with out as much as getting offered drinks, but when an African American couple walked in they where greeted with kindness and where served right away it doesn't take much to understand this situation, the waitress looked over at us a few times and looked at us while she was taking the coupes order so my son and I got up and left so as far as our customary visit to Waffle House those days are over never going back to that waffle house or any other for that matter. read more

It would get no star except the food was good. The service was disgusting, it was like a cattle call. They are still working with a very very old register so it takes forever to check anyone out causing back up. It is small and the waitresses order food by yelling a lot. I'm a Waffle House fan. It's a southern favorite. If you don't know that or have never been- you should give it a try. Normally, I try to eat local places when I'm on vacation but after a couple of days of bad choices and some really disappointing meals I decided it was time to go with what I know. This Waffle House is clean, wait staff attentive. Don't expect them to hover over you and hold your hand. This is a place to get good food fast and get out so someone else can too. My wife and I wanted breakfast for dinner and she had never been to a Waffle House. This was a great Waffle House to take her to. We each had some specials - standard breakfast fare. All was cooked properly and tasted great. The place was pretty clean. The first table we sat at had some crumbs. We just moved to a clean one. The real star was the server. You know a meal is going downhill when your scrambled eggs turn up on your plate eggs over hard chopped to bits. Burnt bacon, c'mon now, you can see its charred beyond recognition but you serve it anyway...sigh. I like waffle houses all over minus this one. Sat down, turned out my seat was sticky with tons of maple syrup. Then the cups came with shit like substance that was apparently chocolate chip. Bacon chicken cheese salad came without cheese and I could see the cook preparing food with no gloves. Plus she scrapes the dough off of the waffle makers with the same knife she cuts your chicken. If you get "Rose" as your waitress, you might as well order everything at once 'cuz you won't see her again.
