These people here are busy. BUSY. Came in on a Monday morning at 1030. Took a second to be helped or to even be given any eye contact. Took longer to get our waters and to get our orders in. We sat at the bar so I observed. And I realized....these workers deserve so much more pay. They had closed half the restaurant due to covid but my god, they were busy. I don't know how long their computer system was down, but they were operating on paper tickets. How the cooks never got anything wrong absolutely amazed me. How the cooks could even remember all of the ordered being yelled out amazed me more. It seemed like everyone that worked there got along so well. They respected each other, they cracked jokes, they motivated one another--they were family to each other. Watching everyone just gave me anxiety. They moved around so fast and panic stricken, just trying to run a smooth ship. I ordered a grits bowl with a side of bacon. Nothing wrong with my meal, it was exactly what I ordered. Everything tasted fine. I saw a sign out front that head cooks were wanted and the starting pay was I think 14$ an hour. They deserve so much more for how much they truly do. read more

My flight was delayed and I have to take the first one out in the morning so I booked an inexpensive airport hotel, and it had a Waffle House in the parking lot. Because I have to be at the airport at 5 AM, I couldn't sleep for fear of missing my flight. So why not have breakfast at 3:30 in the morning, right? Well, the answer is drunk people. The place was a mad house with an odd combination of stranded passengers and heavily intoxicated locals. Luckily, they have security who made sure those of us that were sober got seated without incident. The staff impressively cleaned away the after bar drunk mess and quickly served the new round of people that came in as I did. My server was awesome. She was the motherly diner waitress type that makes you feel right at home in the middle of a slammed dinner. The food was typical Waffle House fare, and the cooks were diligent and efficient. Gentleman brought our silverware - unwrapped it - it was spotty and crusty. No concern showed by the gentleman or apology who waited on us. Food was okay but not received as ordered. We had a server tonight Cristal that neglected us since the moment we walked in. The table was not cleared, we never got water and she refused to take our order for 30 mins. Even after calling her over she said that the cooks were too "busy and get confused". That she would take out order later. We walked out when we saw tables at the counter get seated and their orders taken by the other waitress. This location has some of the best employees! Everyone I've run into was helpful, nice, and one employee was hilarious! The short order cook was cracking everyone up with his banter while I was there. The food here is as good as any other location and it's fast even on a busier morning. So we all know the gist of a Waffle House.... Greasy food at any time of day (or night). So I'm not going to really talk about the food part of this place (although I always suggest getting hashbrowns with jalapenos on them). This location has some of the nicest workers of any I've been to. No matter what time I'm here, they're always working with a smile on their face. My friends and I love to joke around with our waiters and waitresses- we get to do that here. There's never an issue with a wait for a seat or for our food. The worst of many many Waffle House experiences. We are staying at the Red Roof Inn and this Waffle House is in the parking lot making it the only restaurant within walking distance while we live in this winter storm. I was shocked by how dirty this store is. Also shocked with how the wait staff ignores customers. The wait staff are too busy with personal conversations to notice that beverages and other items are needed. And to make it worse, my waitress was arguing over a tip she thought someone stole from one of her tables. The food was less than average with undercooked bacon and overcooked eggs. I would not eat at the store except in the case of bad weather. Shame on you Waffle House for not making this store live up to the Waffle House standard. My husband, myself and our three children visited this location for our dinner tonight while doing a family weekend getaway. The minute we walked in the door we were greeted and taken care of above and beyond! Our waitress Sharon was phenomenal! Our food was cooked to perfection and the entire environment was laid back and all the employees were interactive with us and still doing their jobs. This by far was the best experience we have ever had. With that being said we will return when we are back in the area and all 4 employees that were working work very well together and deserve a raise! One disappointment was finding out the this Waffle house location did not honor a kids eat free special I had seen.
