Worst service ever. Been here a couple times and it hasn't been that bad but this time is especially terrible. Waited 40 minutes for our food, people who came in (a larger group) 20 minutes after us ate before we did. The server waited to put our order in. Everyone including the staff ate well before us. I'm pissed and just kinda shocked at the stupidity of some people. Really? Comes back to say she's "sorry" she forgot to put in the order, after we watch her just walk around doing nothing. Worst breakfast of my life! Waitress was a moron. She came over to tell us that the blender was broken so they couldn't make our omelet. Why you need a blender to make an omelet is beyond me. And we didn't even order an omelet. Then she brought us bacon (which we didn't order either) and laughed and said "oops the B was for your blueberry waffle, not bacon I guess". When I finally got my waffle, it was disgusting looking. They do not use actual blueberries, but just a blue batter they dot on top. Asked for it to be taken off the check. read more

This was my first Waffle House experience ever and it was better than I even thought it would be! Im from New England so we Delaware is probably the closest one to us. We stopped here on a road trip to Maryland/VA. It was so good the first night we stopped that we came back again on our way home from the trip. The Waffles were crispy like I like, the biscuits were delicious and I loved how they had little apple butters on the table for the toast. I had never been to a Waffle House. I had heard many stories though and wasn't quite sure what to expect. I was actually a bit apprehensive but at the same time very intrigued. It needed to happen and this was the very place that popped my WH cherry. We were on the way to DC and were hungry. What better place to stop for breakfast? We had no trouble finding the place and we barely had to wait a couple of minutes before snagging two spots at the counter. I glaced at the laminated menu for a few minutes and my wife helped me figure out the lingo. I settled on some ham steak with some hashbrowns (smothered, covered and chunked!). Being a fatty who was also trying to get the full experience, I also got me a pecan waffle as well. It was way too much food but damn was it tasty. It all came out very quickly and the service was good as well. The staff was interesting, as well as much of the crowd. It almost felt like I was in a 'People-of-Walmart' photoshoot but overall the experience was both interesting and very positive. That being said, I felt like the place was a bit on the grimier side. It felt a tad unclean. Not sure if it's supposed to be that way and I was never in the bathroom or anything but the establishment and open kitchen didn't feel like it was as clean as it could be. Walked in to an EMPTY Waffle House. Never seen that before. First thing I noticed was that the staff were all sitting down. Floors and Windows were dirty. Not a clean booth in the entire place. Who's running this establishment. Ordered and hoped for the best. Food was the usual quality Waffle House chow. Good stuff. Not impressed here. As a disclaimer I have to admit that I am a huge Waffle House fan. Love the chain and always try to find here when traveling. This time this location just didn't make the grade. Horrible management! After church decided to have breakfast at the Middletown location. The noise level from clashing dishes and silverware seemed much louder than other locations visited in the past. Mentioned to the manager, Tara, that the kitchen staff was being rowdy and obnoxiously loud ... she immediately blamed patrons for the noise level and said 'that's what you get when you have an open kitchen'. She began to belittle us as customers, was rude, and proceeded to reply with arrogance 'if you dont like it just leave'! Extremely unprofessional of Tara! Tara proudly told us she has been the manager for 20 years....clearly her skills are outdated! Tara, find another career path that doesnt involve customer service! read more

The bathrooms, well, I'll never sit on a toilet seat there if I can help it, but I'm more than willing to ignore that to think about getting another waffle from there! read more

I do love Waffle House I've been going for years I usually order the All-Star which is cheesy scrambled eggs I get bacon well done hash browns raisin toast and waffle. But you have to be careful which Waffle House you go to. I was traveling from the north to the South and stop in Waffle House maybe 2:00 in the morning and I could tell from the outside that it wasn't going to be a good experience but I was hungry and there wasn't going to be any other restaurants for quite some time I went in and there were three tables that looked as though you could sit down they were free of dishes but they were all dirty the waitress come over looking like some strung-out drug addict with a pen did when I asked her to wipe the table and had all wet rings from the glass and crumbs I ordered my All-Star I told her I wanted the toast well done it comes lightly toasted and kind of cold I don't like how they serve bacon as an appetizer I like to have my bacon with my eggs the waffle was cold the place was dirty the grill that's all the waffle fingers were slapped up with batter everywhere she was not attentive I had to keep calling her for a refill she didn't have any cups to go he was in the back sleeping in between flipping eggs and my main thing it was just a dirty place it just everything was dirty and sloppy and she look dirty I was waiting to get a bout of diarrhea but that didn't happen thank God. read more

We have been here twice and both times I have been pleased... My eggs cooked to PERFECTION... I have had better restaurants over cook my eggs... I kept it simple with the cheese eggs and 2 waffles... Service has always been pleasant. This is where we go when I want some breakfast for dinner but don't feel like making it... My hubby enjoyed his grits, and hashbrowns that are smothered, peppered and topped... But they forgot the topped so he had to have that on side and top it himself. Can't believe the number of positive reviews for this place. It was our first experience with the Waffle House and it was awful. The place was beyond dirty - but fiancé really wanted to try it so we stayed to eat. Our server was a bit rude. I ordered the breakfast special which came with a waffle I asked for it plain. When she brought it to me it was burnt and had chocolate chips. I told her i didn't order chocolate chips she shrugged and said it was on the house and walked away. The waffle itself was bland and had no taste. The other food was nothing special. While the prices are low that is the only thing this place has going for it. Ok I have driven cross country hundreds of times and never stopped @ one of these. I was always hesitant cause I'm not a fan of chain stores. It was a very friendly environment and fast. Been here countless times. Really a staple restaurant of Middletown. The food is always prepared quickly and is really good. The staff is always extremely funny and kind, I've never had a single negative experience with anyone here. This location is okay. It's the Waffle House so it's gets a little messy at times but the food is decent. I use it more as a late night snack since they are open 24 hours. My only complaint is the hash browns are only cooked correctly if you ask them not to cook them in the ring. If you don't ask, the center will be undercooked. read more

I'd like to start off by saying that I LOVE WAFFLE HOUSE!..Unfortunately, this particular location needs major improvements. Unlike the previous posts, my food was NOT good. And I just had a waffle with sausage. And I had to wait 30 minutes for THAT. Granted, it was busy, but that really shouldn't be an excuse. The server was a little slow and overwhelmed. We had to ask for everything. We asked for our beverages 3 times. Sad part was that he prepared them soon as we asked. We could actually see them, but it took him 15 minutes after prep to bring them to our table. Sadly, I ordered coffee and it was cold. The rest of my party ordered OJ and it was warm. Had to wait another 8 minutes for a cup of ice. My brother ordered an omelet with hash browns and grits. His food came and he ate his before I got my one waffle. Granted, my sausages had come a full 15 minutes before the waffle, so at least I had something to eat while I waited for my waffle. We had to ask for every condiment. We had to borrow syrup from an adjoining table. It was so bad that the hostess seen the look on my face and came over to apologize. She is the reason I gave the one star. Very helpful and apologetic. This was the first time in my 50 years of living I did not leave a tip. That's how bad it was. This used to be a nice breakfast place but went there this am and it was by far the worst breakfast experience I have had. The place was filthy. Waited 5 minutes to be seated even though there were a lot of empty tables but the tables had not been cleared. The silverware we were given was filthy and had food particles still on it. We opted for plastic take out silverware. The orange juice that was served tasted awful with a strong metallic taste. Food was not prepared as requested.
