Red haired girls, wolf, spiders, and brown recluse..... oh my! You're gonna want to read this one before you go there! First, I can tell you that I ordered a big breakfast with country steak bacon on the side four eggs hashbrowns well done it comes with toast and one waffle. I had to ask three times for my waffle my waitress never even brought it to cook gave it to me. I never received my bacon. It's OK because when I brought it up to the person that rung me out, I wasn't charged for it. But the worst thing is that the girl with red hair she will tell you all about wolf, spiders, and other spiders and how much she likes them as friends. I was listening to her conversation with the cook where she told him she saved a wolf spider outback that came into the building. I think she had it in a glass somewhere inside the building in the back of the restaurant. You're never gonna believe the next part. Just as she gets done telling that story I look over to my left sitting at the bar directly behind Customer side of where the sink is. She's washing dishes and a spider comes running at me 2 feet away across the countertop literally jumps off the countertop aggressively towards me. I jumped out of my seat. The spider narrowly misses me and falls on my seat. I'm now standing up. I can't even believe what has happened. I tell her a spider just tried to attack me at your counter. My food was literally just put on the countertop and she immediately starts saying don't kill it don't kill it. She comes around the counter and says oh that's a venomous spider! Disgusting absolutely unbelievable. She calls to her gray haired friend. The only other customer in the restaurant and ask him can you please help me take care of this very little spider. He gets up out of his seat. He comes over and just as he's about to step on it. She says don't kill it. Maybe we can take it outside. He tells her I'm going to kill it and steps on it. If she's already talking about a spider, she has hidden in the back and then a spider is crawling across the countertop and jumps at me, literally trying to attack me.(brown recluse.) this place has huge problems. She never apologized for it like I said she forgot half of my food. She was the worst Customer Service ever just know you're in for a very serious adventure and not the kind you would expect at a normal restaurant. Something you might pull out of your own imagination. However, it actually happened. I give this place less than any stars like zero stars.! come on Waffle House do better absolutely never going there again! By the way, the food was all burnt. My country steak was burnt to oblivion. I asked for my hashbrowns to be medium well done and they were burnt. My eggs were all right you can't really screw up eggs at an egg restaurant. When she did finally put the waffle on, she forgot about it like I said in the beginning of this so she burnt it. She left it in there and the cook asked me if I needed anything else because she was in La La Land about spiders so he took it out of the waffle machine and gave it to me, but it was hard as a rock. She shouldn't be working there. She has no clue what she's doing. It might've been the end of her shift. She might've been tired, but you have to give 100% until your shift is over to every single customer that's called Customer Service these days. Seriously try better. Try Moore. Try anything. Came here for some late dinner but won't be back. We are very patient and also work in service industry. We sat for 20 minutes unacknowledged, watching as the server had to cook with her snail of a manager. They completely ignored guests, 2 groups walked out because they hadn't been greeted and they were there longer than us. We waited for 20 minutes and also left. Look, its a Waffle House and as someone from Georgia who grew up with this fine southern delicacy, it pains me to give them less than 5 stars! However, this location just hasn't earned them stars yet... I have been to this WH location a few times now with the first couple of visits being your standard Waffle House visits. Our latest visit brought some unexpected attitude as a side to our Texas Bacon Cheesesteaks. My aunt ordered the two egg plate with her eggs over easy. The first trip out had her eggs as clearly medium with no runny yolks, so she asked politely to have her eggs remade. A few minutes later a new set of eggs came back out cooked the exact same way...at this point she was irritated and asked can she just have a hamburger if the eggs cannot be cooked to order. The waitress picked up her plate and made some snide comment about eggs and my Aunt being needy. To this I asked for someone else to take over our table. We came for a simple meal, it was wrong twice and instead of resolution we got attitude. Overall, not the best Waffle House experience for either of us. The place was empty, except for two other patrons. We sat ourselves (unfortunately) by the grill...and were disgusted by the mess. The spatula wipe cloth looked as though it was used to change my cars oil...no that's inaccurate. My used motor oil is cleaner. Food on the floor, food on the side of the grill. To be fair, the cook was busy wiping down surfaces as we ordered, but I groaned internally when that filthy rag was used once again before touching our food. It's the 4th of July, 2021. The fireworks and celebrations in Nashville are the biggest ever. Over 100,000 attend by some estimates. As the crowds disperse at about 11:30pm, I decide to get my Waffle House fix on my way home to Pegram. My first stop is this Charlotte Pike location off I-40. Whoops, they are only offering carry out even though they are listed as open 24 hours. No problem, I decide to move on to the next location in Bellevue. This time, I am greeted in the parking lot by a frazzled looking young man who gives me the hand-slash across the neck greeting. This is his way of letting me know they are closed. He says "they didn't assign enough staff to keep the restaurant open". Not sure who "they" are, guessing it's the owners or someone further up chain. Ok I get it, people are no longer happy to work for starvation wages after getting unemployment + $300 extra a week bonus compliments of the Covid relief act. So, who's at fault here? The Government who spoiled workers by giving relief in a crisis, or the employer who could offer a living wage and benefits to bring folks back to work. I'm thinking the latter to be honest. Come on.... Think the cost of keeping one of these low-wage jobs. Transportation, uniforms, child care (a great number of these workers are single moms), health insurance, and of course the roof over your head. No wonder folks are inclined to stay home, when often their wages won't cover the expenses of just showing up to work!! The upshot is restaurants are closing, cutting menus, cutting hours, cutting services, instead of addressing the pay issue. I am sure the additional cost to offer living wages and benefits might at best add 10% cost to their operations. So which is better, closing, or making a modest price increase to the menu? All I know is the next time I hear a Manager whine about how "NO ONE WANTS to WORK", I am going to cite a small Ice cream shop in the south who, after increasing their offered minimum wage to $15 an hour, got over 1000 applications. It's not that folks don't want to work, they just want survival wages for their services!! read more

Waffle house is franchised so they are not all equal. This one is a good one - fast, tasty, cheap, and the staff is helpful and friendly. Always busy but Ive never waited more that a few minutes for a seat. You can triple your hash browns for like 50 cents and top them with half a dozen items like mushrooms, onions, jalapeno peppers, tomatoes, ham, chili (or get it on the side), etc, then take the leftover hash browns home to top with your own egg the next morning for a lazy 2nd breakfast. Give them time to wipe the table/seats before you sit down. Seems clean but i once sent a coffee cup back that had something on it. Coffee (even the decaf) tastes good - bottomless. I hear they do a valentines day candlelight dinner here which sounds fun/funny. read more

After 5+ years of reading yelp reviews on the west coast, east coast, and the south, one thing becomes apparent to me: people review food with way too much emotion. I notice that most 1 star reviews receive 1 star because of ONE poor experience with ONE silly server or employee. Does an entire business deserve 1 out of 5 stars due to ONE idiot who'd probably be employed there only temporarily? That's why it's nearly impossible to find actual 1 star reviews on Yelp based on the food alone. If the food or quality-to-cost ratio is poor, the establishment would not survive more than a year or two. The VAST majority of 1 star reviews on Yelp consist entirely of emotionally-charged opinions reflecting ONE awful experience with ONE employee who will probably be long gone from the establishment within 2 months. To me, Waffle House deserves 3 or 4 out of 5 stars because it is what it is: easy to eat, simple breakfast food available 24/7. If you can't live with that, try finding a better affordable place to eat at 4am in Nashville. ;-) But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's totally justifiable to give 1 star reviews based on one awful experience that has nothing to do with the food. With Waffle House, you get exactly what you expect. I really can't think of a more consistent chain in the United States. Granted, that consistency is greasy Hash Browns, Eggs and Waffles. But seriously, where else can you go that you know there will be at least one waitress who has worked there since it opened who will give you that smile and tell you to sit anywhere? Waffle House is what it is, a roadside greasy spoon serving cheap crappy standard Southern Food 24 hours a day. However, if you are in Nashville and have the late night munchies, you really could find better options, such as Applebees or Athens. Both of those are similarly priced to Waffle House, and have late hours but also with much cleaner, much less cramped stores, and friendlier staff and tastier food. The price difference is a two or three dollars more per meal and depending on your location perhaps 5 extra miles of driving. If that is too great an extra effort, than Waffle House is fine as a place to fill up, but really that is a low bar to set standards. You might as well find a McDonalds. I don't what it is about this Waffle House specifically, but it is somewhat creepy, with nighthawks and random people congregating around midnight on a Friday. read more

I don't know why their server had a problem with my husband or me ( though I have my suspicions), but it took them 20 minutes to get my order, 20 to place it, and then they slopped the plate down in front of me and took it away the second i was done.
