I don't know how I feel really, the server was sweet just really not all the way there. It took her awhile to come to me and she still had to be prompted, "ma'am should I come to the register or....." "no I'll come to you.." "uh..... okay" (conversation verbatim). The grill guy was almost in the same boat as the server, seasoning chicken and cutting bell peppers which is fine. But I worked with some amazing grill masters at Waffle house who use to have the customers orders done before the server even took it. Customer service is team work and they just weren't a good team. She was kind though, I had a craving for something and the gravy was the most important part of that. She gave me the old gravy and not only could you look and see but he literally threw it out 5 minutes after she served me. They should've replaced my gravy in all honesty and that bothered me a bit. Another day, another waffle house. Where do I start at, first let me say this waffle house in the past has been very good. But today, was not one of those days. First tables had dirty dishes from customers who came and went, second three workers behind the counter did the best they could under the circumstances. So this review is targeted directly at management, not the workers. Having been a cook myself i understand how important it is to have the right amount of people to make the system work. And when those pieces are missing you get poor results. In this case longer wait times for food, food coming out cold, poor service due to lack of personal. So today was a terrible customer service day for me at this waffle house location. So lower management, and upper management needs to fix this problem. read more

When whenever I take my truck in for service I always make it a point to stop at the Waffle House on Abercorn Street. The service is quick it's always good there's a conversation and the food is cooked just the way you asked for it. The servers are very friendly they even come around and ask if you want it for refill in your coffee, better than some of the breakfast places I've been to recently. A 5-star rating is definitely in support of the great service the good food and the friendly atmosphere I strongly encourage anyone who wants to have a good hot breakfast served with a smile and conversation to come to the Waffle House on Abercorn Street. If I could give a negative star I would. There was trash everywhere on the floor and spills. Waited for 30 minutes to be seated on tables that were already empty and just needed to be cleaned waited another 20 minutes for coffee and drink order and waited another 30 minutes for food before I got up and left. read more

The food was ok. My review is getting 3 stars due to service issues. I had to repeat my food order twice. So it's 3am and not even busy yet, but my waitress, Shai Shai, is very distracted by someone or something in here. I also had to give her my drink order 3 times. Did I get it? NO! I finally had to flag down the other waitress and ask her for my drink. Last I was given my check about 5 minutes into my meal. She never came back. So when I needed a refill on my tea, I had to flag down the cook and he got her attention. I don't know if it's a bad night or a training issue, but this is why your tips aren't stellar... sorry but I'm not. Textbook execution on my over easy eggs and a nice crisp on my hash browns. Unfortunately, the Devil is in the Details. While ordering I explicitly requested extra jelly packets, yet I only received only 1 jelly pack. Also during my visit, my Coke was never refilled. I have been to every Waffle House inn Savannah and Worked at a few of them, This is by Far the best, It is new and although it sits on Abercorn Street it is not as busy as the other one further down. So I called at this time to place my regular pick up order , an older African American male answered the phone which I could understand his name I continued to state my regular order over the phone which is the sausage grit bowl which is on the $5 menu which I had to repeat because this man laughed at me & said that they no longer do the $5 menu which is weird but fine so he said another option which I agreed to. As I was saying my name he said he couldn't hear me so as I kept repeating he continued to laugh in frustration so he finally said " you said jasmine" I said yes with a " Y" he then laughed & said " i don't know why y'alls parents do this to y'all... My friend found a roach on our table beside her food. Waffle House employees just sat there and watched, not even trying to help us kill it. One made a sly comment about "...
