Honestly, no one goes to Waffle House for high cuisine, so I don't have high expectations. I ordered the All Star with soft scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns, sausage and a pecan waffle- well done. For some reason they gave me the raisin toast. My waffle was not well done, it tasted fine. The eggs were good. The sausage was well done, but fine. It satisfied a craving. One thing that I didn't like is the automatic 20% fee for to go orders. The WH on Thomasville Rd is very well managed, clean, busy and plenty of parking. Like the food, pecan waffles are very good. We were there at 7:45am and was busy but, they handled the crush well. Good takeout, fast if you are in a rush. read more

My family and I have been Waffle House enthusiasts for decades. However, one unfortunate event has changed my opinion. This past March 29th my son and I were in Tallahassee for personal reasons. As usual when we're traveling we look for the nearest Waffle House. We were happy to note there was one within walking distance of our hotel on Apalachee Pkwy. We stopped in for our standard breakfast and ordered the same thing every time we visit for breakfast- All American Breakfast for me while he prefers waffles and a side of bacon. Nothing fancy, just filling and tasty. Mariah was our server and was okay but seemed a little annoyed. We also noticed there was a bit of heated banter going on behind the counter. It was distracting the entire staff and caused the customers to be ignored for a decent amount of time. Fortunately the food was great. Here's my issue - our total check was somewhere around $28 (including 20% tip). Driving away I realized I hadn't been handed my receipt. I thought maybe I had left it at the counter and didn't give it another thought. The next day I had logged into my B.O.A. account to check my expenditures for the trip and saw a VERY different amount for our breakfast than what I had paid - $78.50! By this time we were already back home in Fort Myers so I immediately tried calling the restaurant. No answer but the pre-recorded message directed me to the corporate website and to call from there. Imagine my surprise when I went to the corporate website and saw there is NO CONTACT NUMBER, only 8 different ways to contact them. I selected "Tell us about your visit" and informed them what had transpired, It's been 11 days since I lodged my complaint and have heard nothing back. If this is how Waffle House choses to handle customer concerns I have likely eaten my last breakfast at any of their restaurants. read more

This is my second favorite Waffle House in Tallahassee. My favorite is on Capital Circle NW (great for people watching). I usually come alone (my girl believes in brunch, not breakfast). I sit at the counter. Staff are friendly and attentive in a gruff, blue-collar sort of way. On my last visit, the cook even helped me when my server was busy. I love the coffee. I love the All Star Breakfast. I love the waffles. I love the hashbrowns. The steak is surprisingly good, too. I remember Anthony Bourdain saying the same. The only peculiarity of this location is the ATM which is a little weird for a restaurant. As a result, you will probably see a couple people walk in, get some $ and leave without ordering anything during your visit. A Waffle House skeptic, I found myself armed with a YouTube video of chefs Anthony Bourdain and Sean Brock ordering at what seems to be America's last breakfast counter. Staying true to their order, I went with the All-Star Special and got hash browns with the works, bacon, sunny-side-up eggs, buttered (margarined?) Sunbeam toast, and a delectable, light and fluffy pecan waffle made with White Lilly flour. I get it now. The servers were polite and professional. Couldn't have asked for more. read more

The food was actually pretty good. It's better then what it was about 10-15 years ago. I went in tonight and it was soooo cold and the only option for the thermostat was either cold or off and if it's off then it gets hot. How about just turn it up 1 degree so the ac turns off? The service was strange to say the least.... our server was high on opiates (or something with the same affect) and she was almost falling asleep while taking our order, after she took our order she asked questions we already answered the young cook was actually doing the servers job most the time he even tried to get her to go home... she also didn't-feel-like-answering-the-phone she literally said that out loud as the phone rang and rang the person must have called about four times before the cook made her answer the phone. First off, I'm a self-identifying Waffle-House adherent. Let's just get that out of the way early. Secondly, this one is not one of my two usual WHs - I will come here in the event that my dad (who lives in Piney Z) is in the Waffle House mood, since it's right around the corner from his place and makes for a tidy outing. I'm less familiar with this floor-plan (it is unlike W. Tenn and I-10/Thomasville) so right off the bat, I don't get the same enviro-vibe, however the folks here are every bit WH and so you enjoy what WF has come to be expected. Eating at Waffle House is our Sunday morning routine. It's not fancy but offers a consistent breakfast week after week. My favorite is the cheese n eggs. The eggs are fluffy and cheesy. Add in toast, bacon & hash browns and you have a winner to start your day. My husband enjoys what used to be the Toddle House. A ham omelet, hash browns, sausage and toast. They don't offer the Toddle House special any longer but you can still order all items al a carte. Most of the staff is friendly and Waffle House offers a unique American diner experience. read more

The customer service overall was okay... but when I sat with my friend, there were flies in the seat and a bunch of ants on the table. We then asked to be moved to another table, come to find out, there were ants on the second table. We then asked to be moved about four times... but there were ants on every single table. I could not enjoy my meal because there were ants all on the table and crawling in the napkins. I had already killed about 10 of them from reaching my plate. Not a good experience here. All waffle houses have the same basic set up so I'm not going to comment on that, I am going to say that this waffle house is bigger than that one on Tennessee St which gives you faster access to your variety of breakfast foods. It's closer to the Moon which makes it easy access for food for those people NOT trying to go to Taco Bell after partying the night away and honestly that's the best time to come to this one because it was not as packed as the Tennessee St. one usually is at that time. There are good waitresses here, I swear, they must go through like patience training or something because they are usually so friendly to everyone no matter what their conscious state is. Easily the most disgusting Waffle House I have ever been in!!! The Waffle House was loud because employees are CONSTANTLY slamming dishes they are washing and rattling the silver. Every employee is ratchet!!! We witnessed 4 employees get into loud arguments with each other.
