This is my son and I's favorite breakfast date spot. Me and him go there often in the mornings and they know his order waffle with no butter and a bowl of whipped cream to dip it in. Yeah it may not be perfect, but it's Waffle House and we know that's what we love about it. Service is always excellent. I was a visitor at the Waffle House on Wesleyan in Va beach on May 22,2026 at around 10AM. I was dissatisfied with how the manager was treating his staff. His tone was very different towards certain employees and caused the staff to become overwhelmed. I witnessed him make mistakes on orders and blame the staff for them.I was sitting at the bar height seating so could see and hear everything going on in the kitchen. I also witnessed him wiping his hands on the cleaning cloths but never actually cleaning up his work station at all he had food spills and splatters all on the counter that just kept collecting without him cleaning up just kept sitting plates on top of the filth . I also witnessed him put someone's toast directly onto the dirty counter that I asked him myself to wipe off because it was filthy before putting the toast into a togo bowl. The staff themselves were very friendly and worked great under the pressure of the morning rush it was not until that manager came from the back office that the whole energy changed during my visit. I spent an entire hour there watching him mistreat those employees before deciding to address his behavior and asked him to apologize to them he refused to apologize and said he would apologize on his own time. Then I felt like he was really trying to be extra shouting to my partner and I as we left the building to have a good day very loudly being sarcastic to us. read more

The service was excellent. We decided to stop for some Waffle House because it's my birthday and one of my favorite must have spots when I see one! When we pulled up I noticed the inside was empty! I was a little alarmed because I have never come across an empty Waffle House lol. I was wrong. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Told to pick any table we'd like. The section we sat in was assigned to a server named Ciara. She was friendly, fast and she could sing lol. The restaurant was very clean, especially compared to the other waffle houses I've patronized. I noticed the team on duty having some playful. Ack and forth which I enjoyed being nosey and watching. When our food came out it was hot & delicious. I have been a Waffle House customer since college in Tallahassee, Florida. I have never once noticed the Waffle House stamp in the center of the waffles. I always get a waffle. I loved that touch! While we were closing out our tab I noticed everyone doing their side work, making the restaurant even cleaner than it already was. Goes to show this team care about more than just the food. This Waffle House is a staple in my household. The food is good, the service is good, and it's never super duper crowded so I can get my food and sit down pretty quickly. The music usually isn't jumping at this one and if you like that that's fine. Just don't come when I'm there cuz imma throw the music on for some good music while I eat. 3 times I have walked in and sat at the counter. No greating not even a look in my direction. Sat at counter and waited. After 5 min of watching 5 employees standing around while only 3 tables that already had food were in the restaurant, I decided to go elsewhere. I had a pretty consistent Waffle House experience- in a good way. The staff were kind and welcomed me with smiling faces. I placed an online order that had an ETA for 30 mins out, but my food was prepared within 10 mins so I was left with soggy food when I arrived at the online's expected time. In over 30 years of going to WH all over the place, this one is literally the ONLY one where I've ever seen them cleaning the entire place with soapy water! My mother is in a nearby Assisted Living facility, and it's a real treat for her to visit and get the standard waffle with toast and jelly...perfectly soft and sweet for her soft diet needs. Stanley and Joāo were very attentive to customers and incoming calls. Cynthia was extremely helpful and what a great manager! Was handling the place when it was busiest and guiding Joāo and Stanley while they were making calls and answering all their questions. Amazing service, received our food lightning fast and it was cooked to perfection. Best Waffle House I've ever been to hands down.

I am currently at this waffle house. We have been here over an hour and now just getting our food. People came in 30 minutes after us and got their food before us. Victoria, who was serving us said that they put in orders before us. However that was not the case as we were sitting down before two/three other tables. We asked to speak to the manager, Cindy. She wouldn't turn around to have a conversation with us. Then proceeded to make snide remarks to her employees about us. There was no yelling, no scene, no commotion. Luckily, another waitress, Chee-Chee, stepped us and got us our food. I am highly disappointed in Victoria and the manager for their lack of respect, professionalism, and responsiveness to our simple request to get our food in a timely manner. Victoria, just came and admitted they forgot to put in the order. This is unacceptable. read more

Just came out from eating. Will never eat here again. I had a hash brown bowl. It was full of grease and the hash browns were so hard that I could not eat them. Asked for a water 2 times and never got it. Ordered a sausage on the side and never got it. That sausage sure was on my receipt to. Went to the counter to check out and was standing there for 7 min before someone came to check me out and take that sausage off my bill. To top it off someone ordered a burger with no cheese. The manager told the cook it was without cheese. She scrapped off the cheese with her hand and put it on top of a order of eggs that was cooking. Don't know what is the deal with this place, but it's sure UNSAT! Should have stayed home and ate coco puffs. read more

First time visiting this newer Waffle House. It's off the beaten path of traffic which is an anomaly for the chain. Also unusual that it's located in a strip parking lot. The access is not directly off the road and cumbersome if your traveling West. Parking was not a problem for a late morning breakfast on a Saturday. That speaks volumes to how much this WH is off the main road. The lot and sidewalks were clear of debris. Upon stepping inside with my son we viewed a few tables that were empty and not cleared yet, but being worked on. The counter was around half full. We were seated promptly. The dining room floors were clear of trash. Restrooms are to the right as you enter, however we did not utilize. Our waitress was at our table in no time and my son already knew what he wanted, I had eaten already and got coffee. My son loves the All-Star with it's combo of waffle, eggs, meat, potatoes and toast and gave his order. Our server was very pleasant and smiled, so we were off to a good start. My coffee and my son's chocolate milk arrived quickly to the table. Within 10 minutes food hit the table and the order was correct. My son was unhappy with is bacon and agree it was over cooked. Due to the fact we were in a hurry we let it go. He reported everything as tasty. Our waitress did check in and provided a coffee refill. The bill was put on the table. My son finished his breakfast and we were in a bit of a hurry, what's new. I took the bill to the register and could see the waffle area was a mess with over flowing batter. Everyone was busy, but the dining room was still not full. A woman on staff was taking a large to go order and I think she may have been the check out person. I continued to wait and wait and wait with no one acknowledging me. Finally someone did take the bill, but it was much longer than it ever should have been. I will be back to give this one a try, but for this visit a 3.5 rounding down due to the check out debacle. read more

I have to write about this while it's still fresh in my mind, but I popped in late last night after screening The Last Jedi. Since it was nearly 3a I was the only customer dining in, but there were a couple of patrons dropping in for take out. One guy came in and the server in turn shouts out the order to the cook. After a few moments the server shouted out an addition to the order, and the cook began complaining to the server that the order wasn't correct and insisted he shouted out something different. That's when they began yelling at each other for us two customers to see. It was about this time a couple came in and sat down. They were "treated" to the two employees shouting at each other, the highlight being an exchange where the cook shouted to the server, "I hate working with b**ches!" The server yelled back, "Right back at you! It takes one to know one!" before eventually giving up on the argument by saying to the cook (some paraphrasing here), "Yeah, f**kin' whatever. Okay." That's all the couple needed to see in order to bail, while I observed everything with a slight smirk (terrible, I know) on my face (I was in the middle of eating my food when the ruckus began). Both the cook and the server were very nice to me, though - my server was attentive and he was on top of refills, while the cook asked me if my meal was okay (in all honesty, with me being one of two customers present it wasn't difficult). But it was wild witnessing the pair go at it. It obviously lacked professionalism and it painted Waffle House employees in a negative light. Overall, this location is okay. Food is serviceable while the service is better than I hoped. That incident was nuts, though, and over the years I've seen crazy things occur at other Waffle Houses. I guess part of me wants to see things like that happen, which deep down is terrible, but I obviously know what I'm getting into when I eat out at 3 in the morning. JV read more

This was my first time ever trying out a Waffle House, so I have no other location to compare it to. The breakfast was above average, and was very decently priced. Eggs were average. Bacon was absolutely delicious. You know that salty, crunchy, thick, flavorful bacon that is hard to find because everyone uses too much oil and doesn't cook their bacon long enough? Yeah, they have it here. My favorite kind of bacon! The orange juice is from Minute Maid, which is meh but at least it comes in a huge glass. The waffle was definitely the best fast food waffle I've ever had, and it makes me wish there was a Waffle House near me in California :( There is a deal that allows you to get a plain waffle, two eggs, and a beverage for only $6. Terrible experience! Who brings silverware to the table in a cup of hot water?! The spoon still had egg yolk on it and so did my cup of water. It was absolutely disgusting! Someone needs to actually train the staff in professionalism and how to actually do their job. My server was nice enough but the place is filthy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.. I ate about half my food. This USED to be s good Waffle House. It has rapidly gone down the tubes. We go in and place our order with someone who does not speak English very well. That should have been our warning sign to just get up and leave. My wife orders a 1/4 angus burger with cheese tomato and bacon. That order came to our table with everything on it. My wife gets deathly ill from onions. Sent back and she almost gets what she ordered, but was no 1/4lb angus burger. You get more at McDonalds! I ordered the All-American, eggs scrambled light with cheese. I get an order of overdone, burnt eggs. Waffle was ice cold. I had to ask three times for the beverage I ordered. It was absurd. THEN the waitress brought us a check for $27 when the actual total was $19.40 plus tax. Now tax in Virginia Beach is high, but not 50%! A quick review of the check makes it appear that she charged a la cart for stuff that was included in the base price. But I was not going to try and argue with someone who does not speak English well enough to take a simple food order. Avoid this Waffle House like tha plague! read more

The food is amazing for the price at least half of the meals are less than 10 dollars, Some are just over 10 and taxes are included in the price. I will go out of my way to get to this Waffle House. I've been to many Waffle Houses all over the country and when you go in, there is no doubt about what you're going to get. It is classic diner food. Quick, greasy, and good. To say that I was excited to see a Waffle House going in across the street from my house was an understatement. It is truly dangerous to any semblance of a diet. The good news is that I've exhibited self control when I've gone in. This is definitely a clean Waffle House. The staff is friendly and welcoming. It also seems like compared to other Waffle Houses I've to, this one seems smaller. It only has about 30 seats but when I've gone in, most are full. The good thing is that there is a quick turn over so the wait is usually short. I typically sit at the bar. The service whether you sit at the bar or in the seats is great. I used to come here all the time and tip huge for an amazing staff. Was happy to go there now that they are up and running since Covid and to see people I recognized. No familiar faces were there. I came here Sunday. Sat there for twenty minutes, was passed by, looked at a few times, and never had my order taken or acknowledged. The old staff always greeted you, at least to say it would be a minute. I tried to get someone's attention and they turned around on purpose. I left with my boyfriend who really wanted to say something but what's the point? It felt almost racially charged. It wasn't super busy, and three people had orders taken at take out while we waited patiently.
