Wouldn't you know it. After years of dining at Waffle House locations all across the South, I found one with good food and good service. I was visiting Cherokee for the Labor Day weekend and went searching for a hot cup of coffee and decent breakfast. This Waffle House was having a busy Saturday, but the half dozen employees were providing good service. The coffee was hot and fresh. My hash brown bowl was delicious and hit the spot. My waitress provided friendly service and took care of me with the coffee. It is my hope to return again in the Fall. read more

OK I do get it! Y'all are the only establishment that's open after 10 o'clock in a resort town, but it still makes no sense on how poor the meal was. Cold hominy grits, a cold hamburger, no condiments, burnt food. Is this what I should expect when I travel? And there cannot be anything to can be said about waffle house is operations during the coronavirus because it is a holy considered an essential business in the state of North Carolina. Good food but hashbrowns were a bit on the greasy side. And honestly the restaurant did not seem like it was in the best condition.

We decided we would stop in for lunch today after our long drive up here to Cherokee. We were kind of hesitant on eating at this location because there were a LOT of people. There almost wasn't anywhere to park! I honestly didn't think there would be anywhere to sit inside of the restaurant. We decided we'd go in to see if we could find a seat, and luckily a party was leaving as we walked in. We got seated pretty fast, and our order was taken 5 minutes after sitting down. That's quick! Especially for a restaurant being so busy. These guys that work here know what they are doing! Kim was our server, and she was OUTSTANDING! You can tell that she enjoys working around people, and her bubbly personality can make anyone smile. She made our visit feel special, because she didn't forget about us at all, & always made sure we had what we needed. Not to mention, the food was fresh and cooked perfectly. I don't think I've ever been able to say I've ever had a "pleasant" visit to a Waffle House until I visited this one! If any of the employees see this, I just want to say, you guys rock. The food and prices have always been good for me. But I tried calling my order in before work and had to call like 6x before anyone ever answered. Went in on a Saturday night 8-7-21 waitress give us coffee 45 minutes later still no food or more coffee. Two days in a row I have gone there in the morning and they were doing takeout only. The first day I called later and they said the dining room open and come on in. I asked why the dining room was closed that morning and I was told personnel shortage. Humm A breakfast place has enough people for dinner time but not breakfast. I went there second days and there was the big sign again that said take out only. It was 7am. There were six people working there. Two cooking and four servers. Asked what time the dining room would be open and I was told " I don't Know" Obviously not a personnel shortage and they were not cleaning either. I ordered food to go and sat inside and waited. It's ok to come in and sit and wait for your order but not to eat there. While waiting I noticed two meals being prepared on plates not take out. Before I got my food I discovered the two meals on plates were for the people working there. Got my food and went back to my hotel. Eggs were not cooked totally and running. The bacon that I asked to be crispy was limp. Horrible service, they don't want to work and they food was not prepared well. read more

Where do I start? 8 waitresses working 1pm on a Sunday afternoon. None of which wanted to refill our drinks including our own waitress. One waitress was "washing" dishes but kept blowing her nose then proceeded to pick up the silverware from the top. Absolutely disgusting. Wanted to walk out in the middle of our meal. Oh and don't get me started on the smell of Clorox as some guy was mopping the floors DIRECTLY under our feet!!! The food was good but the staff and atmosphere was far from it. read more

Stayed in the area last summer and the service was horrible. We walked in and were waiting on the server to finish cleaning the table, this guy and his girlfriend jumped right in front of us. The server never spoke up to say that family was waiting on me to finish. Dude got mad cause I told him we were there first and it was pretty rude to cut in front of us. Chick with him, got really nasty with me cause I spoke up. Server was pretty petty when came to our order. I won't be back to this waffle house period. read more

As with all Waffle Houses's there's great value here and, of course, below average food. But, you can't beat the price. This Cherokee area location does a great job with staffing. There's often more employees than there are customers, which leads to great service. Personally, I'd only eat breakfast here. There's nothing wrong with a Waffle House waffle. I came in for late dinner, 9pm. This place was rather disgusting. The entire counter and 3 tables had not been bussed. There were two tables with people when I walked in. The floor in the kitchen was pretty bad. The server was nice, cleaned my table when I sat down. I got served a beverage with lipstick on the glass. The rest of the food was fine. I didn't say anything except to ask for a new beverage and the server discounted the bill. I think these guys are trying hard but just are not motivated to keep the place clean and sanitary. read more

I go to a lot of Waffle House restaurants when around the Southeast when traveling, so I know what to expect from this place. I would have rated this better had I not felt like I was supposed to get up and cook my own food and pour my own coffee. My waitress was completely unhelpful and too busy talking with other staff whenever I needed something. I'm the most laid-back and casual diner, but when I get impatient, then you know service is bad! The hash browns were tasty though! read more

Waited 20+ minutes at table in a busy, but not packed, restaurant. We weren't the only ones who got up from table and left due to no service. We are WF aficionados but this location fell short of our expectations. Employees were clearly not interested in being there. The food came up one dish at time over ten minutes, two dishes needed to be corrected after that. The food was definitely not worth the wait!
