Took my daughter here for her birthday breakfast. Service was quick and friendly. I had the Berry waffle with side of eggs and sausage. It came with ice cream topper. So delicious. Can't wait to come back and try something different. So many choices and it was hard to decide. You gotta go!!!

This place was exactly what I needed on a Sunday morning drive back to Seattle. The food was so delicious (I love a thick slice of bacon). My partner and I split our order and I came on two separate plates (just a heads up they do charge extra for it). The ambiance is good ole fashion diner. You really feel like a kid again, which is always fun! I highly recommend this place.

What a great "mom and pop" place. Food is fresh and served hot. Service was top notch. The restaurant was perfect, clean and cozy. You know you are in a locals place when a group of regular "old timers are eating at the bar. This is a can't miss in the heart of Spokane. Perfect last meal before leaving town.

We haven't been here since they switched owners and it was time to give them a try. It's nice that they are also open for supper now. We were offered any seat in the house and chose a booth away from the front door. Drinks were brought quickly and our breakfast for supper order was taken. It did take quite a bit of time for the meal to come out (30+ min) but ultimately it was worth the wait. Both omelette's were very tasty and the waffle side I'm told was excellent. My side of biscuits and gravy was also very good. A soda and two omelettes set us back around $40+ tip. The place was nice and clean with Halloween decorations in place. The owner and server were also nice and apologized for the long wait.

It's been awhile since we've been to waffle Plus a good 10 years actually. So we decided to give it a try again. We went during the week for breakfast and so it wasn't super busy but still busy. The food was great. The ambience was the same and we highly recommend it to others. I really like their waffles because they are not too soft not too hard.

Just discovered a couple of months ago that Waffles Plus is open for dinner. Been there for fabulous breakfasts, so, was anxious to try dinner. I'm definitely not a vegetarian but eggplant is one of my favorite vegetables. The Miso Glazed Eggplant sounded intriguing! Told the owner I better try it before it disappears from the menu since it's not usually very popular. It did not disappoint!!! Two nice eggplant slices (lengthwise), buried under perfectly sautéed Brussels sprouts, mushrooms & rainbow carrots and extremely tasty well seasoned rice. I didn't really notice the butternut squash purée but didn't miss it either. A really nice surprise was the Senior, Kids & Light Meals section. Great selection and variety of breakfast, lunch & dinner items. My friend had the Beef Pot Roast over mashed potatoes, served with a nice soft dinner roll. Very delicious and tender beef roast with a savory gravy. She said it was absolutely delicious! The menu makes my mouth water! There are so many different choices with the majority under $20. I'm definitely going back!

Service was friendly and considerate. A+ Ambiance was traditional diner vibes, we loved it. A+ Waffles were FANTASTIC -- I still dream about them. A+ Tea was good enough I took a picture of the bag to get some for my house. A Biscuits and gravy were average. C Partner and I were out looking for furniture and we saw this place. After a long day of walking through seemingly endless furniture displays and sitting in fake dining rooms, we were famished. This place definitely hit the spot.

Venerable breakfast professionals. On all my visits over the years I've never ever considered getting any of their lunch options, because breakfast is such a solid bet. I'd venture to say that is probably the opinion of many others, as well. Most of their products are FSA/Sysco pre-fab, but it's all just so hearty and satisfying that it really doesn't matter to me. I generally don't eat a big breakfast, but when I do--dining out--I want it basic and not 'elevated' to a 'chef inspired' creation. And, I want to be so darned full after the experience that I don't eat again until next Tuesday...

    "Extra crispy" hash browns

Everyone is very friendly here and service is great. They have an interesting menu but we ordered standard fare. My husband had a waffle that was golden brown and served with a selection of three syrups. His breakfast waffle also came with one egg and 2 slices of bacon. He was happy. My breakfast was a number 5 (I think) and had one egg, hash browns, 2 sausages, and sourdough toast. I asked for crispy hash browns and our server even wrote "extra crispy" on the ticket. What I got was barely golden and barely crisp. Completely soft and white under the few crisp shreds. It's crazy to me that breakfast places don't serve crispy hash browns. I hardly ever eat them so when I do, I want them to be worth it! We'll probably go back but I won't be ordering hash browns.

However, Luna does offer a lot of things for this price. You have a pleasant neighborhood restaurant vibe, with friendly attentive service and excellent, healthy food sourced from good places. As with anything in Spokane, you will see folks in very casual attire, but this is also a place where you can dress up. When we went, there were several tables of women friends (all ages), many family groups (without young kids or with well-behaved kids), and older couples. I was in the mood for salmon and they did a great version. It should be though for just under $50. It was served with black rice (good) and roasted carrots (good) and a carrot puree (really good but not enough on the plate). My dining companion got the scallops, and they were even more expensive than the salmon. $48 for TWO scallops. Ok, they are large, and well-cooked, and came with a lovely vegetable mix and couscous, but that's a lot of $ for Spokane. We are from CA and that's even a shocker for us. Dessert: they had recently added a banana pudding, which was good. It replaced a chocolate dessert--and that was a bad move because there is no intense chocolate on the menu. We also tried the coconut cake with lemon curd. There was not enough curd; it was barely a tang. The cake itself was a little dry. It is served with house-made ice cream, which balances the dryness but the cake should be good on its own. Apparently, this is their most popular dessert. I am a chocolate-first person. I like coconut. I like good vanilla. I really like lemon curd and a sweet-sour pairing. For me, this item felll short.

We told the server it tasted burnt & old so she offered to make a fresh pot. It was just as bad, when she asked we said it was still really yucky and she said that a lot of people don't care for it. I ordered the tamale waffle. The beef was great, eggs were a bit overcooked but no biggie, the waffle was really hard and dry. It needs some sort of crema sauce or something. It wasn't horrible by any stretch but it wasn't great either. My mom got the veggie breakfast burrito and she liked the veggies though it was bland, felt like it could have had more sour cream & cheese. It was massive and came with a side. The added 16% service fee is some real BS. It says on the receipt that it's split between the server & the kitchen staff. Call me old fashioned but I thought it was on the restaurant to pay their staff a living wage. At $18 a breakfast plate & $4 for drip coffee you should be able to pay your staff. And then we're supposed to tip on top of that? Nope.

I had the sampler which is right up my alley, getting to try a bite of everything. Enjoyed 4/5 of the flavors! Really cute interior, convenient location to downtown activity. Time from entering the restaurant to food on the table was an hour, seems a little crazy for a waffle + topping situation. I think I'd almost prefer this as order at the counter and stream line the service time given waffles are casual. Inside was really loud even though it wasn't packed. My latte listed on menu for $6 was $7.50 and mimosa listed at $11 was $14... not sure if we missed something there? Was hungry pretty soon after, sampler really isn't enough for a meal. We always make it a point to get the beignets from Francaise when we come to Spokane, so on this trip we decided to stop in for dinner. Francaise has a warm inviting "dining room" vibe that gives comfort to its guest. The exposed brick, warm lighting and plants really set the tone for intentional conversation and intimate dinners. While we did come on a night that seemed like they were short staff, our servers were still checking in and very accommodating with how busy it was. We ordered the Pain Maison, Black Truffle French Fries, Risotto à la Forestière, Steak Frites*and Grand Marnier Croissant Bread Pudding. Pain Maison - 7/10 I think the bread was good, I do wish it had been a bit warmer and that there would have been a flavor to the butter. Black Truffle French Fries - 10/10 These were executed so well. The fries on their own carried a lot of flavor, and the truffle took it to another level. We could have easily eaten another basket. Risotto à la Forestière - 8/10 I stole a few bites off of my wife's plate. There were portions of the duck that were a bit dry, but overall it was very tasty. The risotto carried a lot of flavor and the white wine sauce finished everything nicely. Steak Frites - 7/10 I did end up switching my fries to the Robuchon potatoes because they sounded so good and they were. As far as the steak itself, it was cooked to perfection, but I did not enjoy the blue cheese-cognac butter like I thought I would have. There was a charred sweetness to it that I was not expecting (completely on me) and it made me wish I had just ordered the steak itself. Grand Marnier Croissant Bread Pudding - 9/10 The ice cream completely took this dessert to the stars! The Bread pudding in itself had a hard outer layer with a soft and flavorful inner layer, and the combination with the salted caramel ice cream was delicious.  I think that Francaise would be a great place to do Hors D'oeuvres along with drinks and dessert along with friends or for a date- I am curious to try their short rib and think I will make it a point to do so when we come back.
