ANIMAL ABUSERS. Don't come here if you care about your animals. If you want a bloody, crooked haircut for your dogs, this is the place. I've been going here for years. Since before they were in the current building they're in. First off, everyone except management or someone in charge is rude. For the past couple times, they have tremendously messed up and injured my 2 dogs. I go in there expecting a haircut and come back w my small dog having had stitches and multiple cuts on her body. Not only that but her haircut is uneven. If that isn't enough, the previous time, my other dog (who is a gentle giant) was given back to me limping and i was told "he came in like that". They also tried giving me a dog that was not even mine in place of that one the previous time I visited. Overall no one w a true care for their animals should come here. Their is only one thing I can say after my dog hair cut and that is Carlos is a professional at what he does. He left my dog looking flawless did a great job cutting her hair and was very gentle with my dog. Horrible and getting worse by the month! This place trains people and they are grooming your dogs. They only have one groomer that I'm aware of. They keep a chart of how to groom your dog but they never come out as described. I have 3 dogs and have been coming here for years but in the past six to eight months they have gone in the toilet. I keep giving them chance after chance. The coup de gras is that today I showed up for my appointment and they are now closed on Saturdays! THEY scheduled me for today!! Ridiculous! When I had some issues with the grooming services I called and spoke to the manager Rachael and she was kind and understanding she heard my concerns was not rude and made me feel better then before when I was unhappy, they take responsibility for any dissatisfied service and i will be giving them a second chance, and I will do my part and stay with my cat. They didn't show for my appointment. No call, no show. Incredible how behavior like that keeps them in business. I'm a new client and would've used them regularly. Update: after calling several times I finally reached someone who told me I wasnt even put into the database and they weren't in my area today anyway. She had no idea what happened and said they'll be out tomorrow and I can receive $10 off if it's $60 or more but they can't go lower than $50........ Strange. Last time they told me this was a "new client discount" not an "inconvenience discount". My rating still stands until I see how they are tomorrow. So far; disappointed. read more

Been here for years with my 9 year old teacup Maltese~ they gave us a discount from the normal price we used to pay because my dog is too small! :) yay! My family loves their monthly specials with the special offer of pet photography included on the mug. Also, don't forget to spin the wheel so that you can a discount for your next week! This place is horrible. I took my dog for a groom and everything was fine at first. Then I realized that they cut his nails way too deep and had dried blood on his paw which lead to an infection. They also did not rinse his face properly and got an infection on his eye. We had to take our dog to the vet. They had the audacity to not us know what they did to him. Very irresponsible people. Bad isn't the word, they cut my dogs nail and they cut so deep poor dog was bleeding and when I called owner said ohhh it's ok its comon , really bleeding is common when you r done with cutting dogs nails, no wonder my dog always was crying when I took him there, dirty , smells but it's cheap. Horrible customer service. We booked an appointment for our dog and WMT cancelled due to some faulty equipment. WMT rescheduled for the next day and again cancelled last minute with no explanation. We simply received a text that WMT couldn't make it. Very unprofessional and obviously unreliable in keeping appointments. They really do wag your tail. DO NOT USE!!! read more

This has been a good groomer for our dogs, and that's saying something because we had to drive 20 miles to go there. Our dogs are chows often get nice lion cuts, or sometimes just a bath/blow dry. The shop was sometimes hectic, but I was never treated rudely. I think they give great value in a grooming service. However, since they stopped being open on weekends, we've had to find another groomer. I'd post a cute pic if I weren't on my work computer. Give them a try! read more

We have taken our dog Sam here several times now and everyone we have ever dealt with here has been really sweet with people and pets. We have used the pick up and drop off service and we have taken him in ourselves and we don't have any complaints. I think their prices are comparable to Petco which is another place we use. We can't always get all the extras, but every other place has a base fee and then add on's too. They're also really good about getting us in the same day we call. Usually it's when Sam is so stinky we just can't stand it. I would give them a try. read more

I'm updating my previous review because Wag My Tail's new owner reached out to me asking to give the place a second chance after my last visit four years ago. After responding to her message and prior to scheduling an appointment, I was able to communicate with Rachel--the new owner--over the phone and she was very kind and attentive when asking about the services I normally get for my dog. When it came around to talking about my last experience at WMT, Rachel explained a few of their new policies which include calling the owner for consent before shaving or doing anything unasked for but that should get done to the pet. (I appreciated hearing this given that the previous owner and staff didn't seem to abide by this). When I showed up the following day, I was greeted by a friendly staff who also took note of my dog's needs and they promptly took him in. Later, when I picked him up, my dog looked great. Because he's part husky, I asked for a deshedding and some trimming in the belly and butt area, and they did an amazing job. Whoever groomed him--my apologies for not asking!--did a great job of brushing out a lot of the undercoat and trimming around sensitive areas. (I made sure to let the staff know in advance that my dog should be muzzled so that the groomer could reach certain areas without any worries). My dog not only smelled good, but his fur looked great. I'm very, very pleased with this experience and can't thank Rachel and George enough for reaching out to me for a second opportunity. Reading over several other 1-star reviews, I'm seeing that some of the complaints are in part due to the owner's negligence of his/her pet's maintenance and the staff simply doing what's best for the pet's fur and skin. I appreciate that the owners don't hesitate to contact an unhappy client because it shows that they actually care about the reputation of their business and are willing to do what it takes to have satisfied clients. read more

I used to take my dog to petsmart for him to get groomed and washed but this place is by far the better choice. Petsmart was never able to blow dry my dog, saying that my dog doesn't like the dryer, giving me a somewhat wet dog. My dog seems to not have a problem here tough, the staff are all nice and always explain in full detail any question I have. I love this place and I'll be definitely coming here again. read more

I love this place, they are so friendly and very cheap comparing to other places. I took my dogs so many times to PETCO and Pet Smart and yes they get me so happy with all the bows and decoration they put on my dogs. but,when I get home I always find uneven ugly cut some where. and they always complain that my dogs moves too much. but with Wag my tail, before they take my dogs, they always ask so many question to help them know my dogs better. In the past, I had very bad experiences with dog groomers, including serious injury to one of my dogs when a groomer allowed her to be hanged on the grooming noose. That was so traumatic that I didn't let anyone groom my dogs for several years. I thought about trying a mobile service, beause I felt more secure having someone here at the house because it didn't mean leaving my dog somewhere for hours. I explained the bad experience we'd had, and Wag My Tail has always been sensitive and considerate of my needs and feelings. They don't use the grooming noose at all, and each groomer who has come to my house has been absolutely sweet and kind. I've used their mobile services several times, but haven't thought to review them. Okay, actually I always forget the name of their company, so they have to deal with an absent-minded woman calling every couple of months to ask "Are you my groomer? Oh, right..the last groomer who came was..uh..it started with an S? or..maybe a Y?" They've really been great with me and my dogs, and I do not recommend groomers lightly. I trust them with my dogs, and they were just here yesterday morning to groom my two Lhasa Apsos. They did a fantastic job as usual, and my dogs were safe, loved, and look great. Five stars! My dog has never been happier , the staff are very well trained and handled my muffie with love and care . Do not being your animals here!!! I wanted to like it, it's the closest groomer to my house and has decent prices. Unfortunately, they have no idea what they are doing and don't employ professional groomers. Half my dogs nails weren't cut and on the half that were one was cut too low so now she's terrified. Her haircut wasn't finished, long parts around her legs and privates and her face wasn't trimmed at all. But worst of all is they didn't rinse her well, so she tried to clean her feet herself, which resulted in her puking all over the place! read more

I am in shock about some of these reviews for wag my tail. I have been taking my shitsu Misty to them since she was just a puppy. I have been more then pleased with the results and believe me my Misty is not easy to groom. Actually, the first groomer I tried to take her to wouldn't groom her without me sedating her...I refuse to dope my dog for any reason and Yvonne Wag My Tails owner took the time and showed immense care and patience and now we groom her with NO drugs! Misty goes to Wag My Tail for her baths and for her hair cuts every five weeks and will continue to do so . I would absolutely recommend them, and do so often. Have any of you that have complained about the pricing with them compaired prices at other dog salons? If you have you would know that Wag My Tail is extremely fair . Except for maybe Petco but on that note and for everyones info...Petco's groomers are students too!!! read more

I use the Mobile grooming since my dog hates being taken to the kennel style groomer. Yes, mobile grooming is expensive, but so are liberal policies that reward lawlessness and irresponsibility...but I digress... Joanna from Wag My Tail was great with my somewhat hostile poodle and made him look sweet and approachable, resulting in many human hands being bludgeoned and permanently scarred. Joanna is no longer with Wag My Tail but the new girl does a good job. I don't go for any special poodle cut, I just have them shave him down, and they do that well. I would recommend them for owners who's dogs hate being left at groomers. read more

I took my beautiful 35 lb golden retriever mix one time only. It was tuesday morning at 8:00, they told me they weren't busy then and if I brought her in at that time, I could pick her up in two hours. Four hours later, they called and I went to pick her up.....this was to be only a bath and brush out at their shop. When I got home, this beautiful dog was scratching herself all day. It turned out the shop didn't get all the shampoo out and I had to hose her off on a cold day. Why didn't they rinse the shampoo out? I don't know but it doesn't seem too much to ask. The shop called me two months later to "remind me my dog had an appt. with them the next morning." The fact is that I never called them again. This fact alone says volumes about their utter lack of a work ethic. Do Not bring your dog or cat here......better to bathe it yourself. read more

I want to say that I used to like Wag My Tail until they started their mobile service. Wag My Tail used to come to the home and pick up my 3 large dogs in their short bus. My dogs liked going along for the ride and the people there treated them well. What turned me off to them and I am telling everyone I know this. The last few times my dogs came back from there they came home with injuries. The worst one cost me 450.00 in vet bills. They nicked my Royal Poodle and I did not catch it until he turned it into a large hot spot. When I took him to the vet they found other nicks on his ear, legs, and inner leg. Since Wag My Tail is a school I told them about this problem and all they would do is say "sorry". No offer to pay for the vet bills or anything!!!!! My partner talked me into trying them one more time... I took the dogs in myself since they are charging for the bus ride now. I talked to the receptionist and she wrote down in detail every thing I wanted on all three dogs, Poodle, Giant Schnauzer, and my Airedale. I told them the Poodle needed his Mohawk and I wanted it 2" high. The Airedale needed the standard Airedale cut, and the Giant Schnauzer was to have the show cut... They had the dogs all day (almost 8 hours), when I picked them up I was so mad you would not believe... The poodle was shaved down everywhere except the top of his head he had a big mop of hair the ears were not done... in few words he looked like @$#%. I made them fix what they could and I would not leave until they did. When I saw my schnauzer I told them this is not what I paid for, he was shaved down everywhere and did not have the schnauzer cut what so ever. He looked sad and there was nothing they could do to make it look better. The poor Airedale, she got the worst of it. They shaved her body down to the skin and left her head untouched. It made her look like a freak with a big furry head and shaved body. When I told the receptionist about this she said it was to late in the day for them to work on her since everyone went home. I told the receptionist I was not happy and I did not think I should have to pay for this mess. She said all she could do is take 10% off (I had a coupon for that) and that she would talk to the owner about it. I had to pay since they would not let me leave with my dogs until I did so. UGH!!! When I got home I was petting my Airedale and found scabs all over her body, she had cuts everywhere. I could not afford another Vet bill so I treated her as the Vet did on my poodle with a lot of antibiotic creams and peroxide. The poor thing was not happy at all. I decided that we were done with their crappy work and the bad customer service and started looking for another groomer. I got a call from Wag My Tail just the other day confirming my appointment that I did not set up and I let them have it. The woman on the phone only said I am sorry and that she would pass my complaint on to the owner. I told them things there went down hill there and that and they needed to make it up to us for crappy service and only the owner could cut them not a bad student. I did not receive a call back at any time from the owners and that just goes to show you how bad they are. My advise to everyone is....Do not take your pets there unless you hate your pets or you want to pay vet bills. read more

I would give this place " 0 " stars if I could. Everyone who thinks about taking there dog here should NOT!!! This is also a grooming school (a bad one at that, I knew a man who went here) they have students do the grooming hence what happened to my dog on Saturday!!! He went in the be summer shaved and ended up getting 2 staples in his head. The owner is a liar and his story was so pathetic....you don't know who you were lying to mister!!! My sisters own and operate in Chicago a VERY successful grooming salon, in which I've also worked on and off through the years!!! The lie they told me was that he was freaked by the blower and fell on his head, this made absolutely no sense to me. When I got there, he had a perfect cut on his head like he ran into a pair of scissors. And the disgusting thing is that if he did freak out from the blower, what, you just continued to groom him with a gash in his head!!! He's fully shaved, very poorly I must add, and they left his poofy tail. When the dog was dropped off at my house after his vet visit, the girl told me "I wasn't in the room but I know of a hook under the table where they tether the dogs and he most likely cut himself on that." This entire experience has me up in arms. I get it, accidents happen....but it didn't have to, not by a long shot. And the lies, no accountability and not one " SORRY!!!" This place, in my opinion, needs to be shut down. Oh, and I might as well throw this in as well. On my last visit, I brought in my Schnoodle. He was scared and didn't want to go in the back SO THEY DRAGGED HIM THERE!!!!!!! Yes, by his collar scooting on his butt all the way into the back room. Shame on me for going back but they are the only groomer that takes same day appointments.....hmmmm, I wonder why? read more

Under new management. New owner is awesome. Took my puppy Susie to get gromed I was having trouble because she was scared to go. They took her and huged her made her feel safe and they were able to get her gromed. They even called me to let me know she was doing ok. Highly recommend Wag my tail now. read more

They are not very gentle when trimming dog nails. My dog has been traumatized about getting her nails trimmed ever since then. They didn't trim her hair around her ears as i asked and this was the second time.They are very bad with listening what customer's want. read more

This place is terrible, I was a "student" here but the teacher quit 2 weeks after I started. The owners of the place don't even let customers know that they are a school or that people that don't have experience are working on their dogs. I paid 1300 for nothing, and when i asked who would teach they responded with saying someone who had been dog grooming for 8 months would be a teacher. I got a job and was told everything I was doing is absolutely wrong, thank God they are willing to actually teach and work with me. I would not ever in a million years recommend this place to anyone not as a place to take your dogs nor as a school. Save your money and go somewhere that will actually do a good job.
