Good customer service. Food was good, but the amount of food was ridiculous, we went to another place to eat more hehehe. The restaurant is nice, but it needs to be clean, a lot of flies, even the sugar container had a dead fly. It was disgusting.

Spent a weekend in Carmel and found this spot and had breakfast twice during my stay. Everyone was friendly, service was prompt and the ambiance was cozy. Cash or Venmo only options to pay. Will definitely return if I come back to the area.

I've been sitting at this table with four coworker and haven't been acknowledged for 19 minutes. We were sitting in a section with a family of four and a family of two, all of us arrived at the same time. The waiter served the family of four and once she was done; the lady from the family of two got the waiter attention by asking her for a cup of water hen proceeded to place her order.I'm very disturbed with the service and decided not to order anything. Cinnamon roll - frosting was dry and crusty :( not my fave

I was so disappointed in our experience here. I may have been a little too hyped up from the reviews but I was expecting a lot and I'm such a fan of classic country breakfast I thought for sure this would be a favorite place for us. Don't get me wrong the portion sizes were huge (as they should be) but the food was just okay? I also found an eggshell in my poached eggs which just doesn't even make any sense to me. The eggs Benedict (sans eggshell) was pretty tasty though. I also got the side cinnamon roll and the frosting was hard and crusty instead of being nice and soft and gooey (I did ask for it heated so the inside was warm but the outside was not). My husband got the country fried steak and could barely eat it because it was drenched in gravy which made the steak really soggy. It's possible our subpar experience was due to ordering out instead of eating in but unfortunately we didn't have time to come back here. I would give this another shot for indoor dining.

Veggie omelette is excellent! Love the rye toast too. Great, unique ambience with a campy feel. Wonderful food and huge menu with a wide variety of types of dishes !

I've been here a few times but my most recent experiences have changed my opinion on this spot. Service is friendly but that's it. It takes forever for them to come over to take your order and bring your drinks as well as your food. I then have to flag them down to bring me my bill. As for the food, it has to be frozen or something. I've had calamari and chicken fried steak but something was off about them. They tasted like one's you'd get at Denny's. Their eggs are too runny so always ordered them over medium or even hard... I do like their potatoes because they're crispy. Pancakes are wayyy OVERPRICED! $8-9 per pancake is insane. That's basically $18 if you want 2 (and you will as the portions are small). I was charged close to $23 for the berry pancakes. They did not inform about this as the menu just says market price. The price was even more absurd when I find out they're not made from scratch. They used Krusteaz pancake mix... I could have just use that to make them at home and have saved $23... They're definitely trying to scam you. I was sat close to the back and was able to get a look at their kitchen... extremely dirty and messy. Wouldn't be surprised if someone got sick. Overall, this is overpriced, bland food that I would advise to stay away from. Food: 3/10 Service: 5/10

I knew this place was going to be good when i parked and noticed the gentlemen sitting outside with his dog. it gave a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor inside appears it's been collected over many years and I can people come here most likely on the daily. Our wait staff was excellent she made recommendations and gave feedback on what we asked. The menu had Calamari steak and eggs with us a unique option and the Katy Cakes made of oatmeal. They had omelette options not typically combined like the avocado special and loved i didn't have to add or subtract anything from my omelet. Everything was excellent and would recommend to anyone passing through.

    pumpkin pancake

ima keep it short. BEST pumpkin pancake i have EVER had... incredibly delicious and soft and moist. when you bite into it, it does feel a bit "undercooked" but i think it is because they might use pumpkin puree in the pancake batter. the salted butter and pumpkin sauce they add on top is perfect. i didn't consider it too sweet but a cold glass of almond milk would be delicious with it. we also ordered quesadillas but the pancake was the star of the show. each pumpkin pancake was $8. I give the pumpkin pancake itself 5/5.

Took a very long time to flag someone down to take our order. The plastic glasses are yellow. Had to ask 3 times (from 2 different servers) for straws. Asked twice for silverware. The food took quite awhile to come, one of the servers even thought we were already done and asked how we were and then realized we hadn't even received our food. The plating was absolutely horrible. They placed the fruits on the plate with the French Toast and it made the French toast soggy. The whole plate was drenched with fruit juice. The breakfast burrito was horrible!! Do not get it! The tortilla was soggy from the pico de gallo on the plate. The filling was stuffed with pcio de gallo too, there wasn't any substance. Just cheese and pico de gallo. Paid extra for protein and couldn't find hardly any pieces of meat. No one came back once to ask how the food was and if we needed anything. The server that's a shorter than the other two, with dark brown hair was not very friendly. The other two servers were friendly . Sadly, this place feels like a soft opening restaurant. Three servers and they seemed very disorganized.

When my +1 and I walked up on Monday morning, we signed their wait list about half a page full. Already aware of the possible of wait, I asked another couple up front if they had waited long. They told me (to my horror) for an hour. Fortunately, we arrived after the breakfast rush wave (about 10:30am) and were seated after waiting for about 10-15 minutes. We were seated at the back room which was nice. It was a little bit more quieter compared to the front room. It was well decorated to look like a quaint cottage. What stuck my attention was the lovely mural on its walls with pinches of humor. Hostess and waiters were friendly and service was very quick. We were in and out of the restaurant in 30 minutes from being seated to the bill. We picked the ye old breakfast with choice of sausage and a ye old sweet with sausage as well. The food was delicious. I also ordered a coffee and my mug was never empty during the meal. Would definitely recommend this to anyone going to Carmel. Even though I was fortunate, I'd probably try to put my name in the list early or avoid the rush.

They have indoor and outdoor seating , we got their early so the seats were a little wet but Rita wiped down the seats and provided us with blanket covers so the seats were not cold and we had some warmth. She was beyond kind and it was very much appreciated. Also there are only a few parking in front so you may have to park a street or two over. Servicewas just outstanding... Rita checked on us often, brought out treats and water for our dogs and was just amazing. Food: The braised corn beef hash: was absolute perfection... I love corn beef hash and this take with the braised corned beef just spoils you with deliciousness. The poached egg was perfect, I have never braised corned beef but I'm going to learn to try and make a dish like this. My wife got the chicken and waffles, and she gave me some and it was perfect, the one thing that hit the most was the breading on the chicken was so delicious , they made sure the flavor complemented the sweetness of the waffle and syrup, the chicken was tender and with the waffle it was just something else. I also tried their biscuit and gravy and it was so good. The sausage in the gravy and the flavor was so delicious. We were patient, as there was only one person working. Over the next 1/2hr, at least four tables were seated, ordered and received food. We sat there... two black men and myself obviously being treated different. Even the dog, yes the dog at the table next to us was served his bowl of water before us. I had not been back to Carmel for 30 years since I moved out of state. What a nauseating experience, as I was sharing some childhood memories with my son, and my husband. Turns out our complaint to our server was pointless, as she tried to lie her way out of it "we lost your order in the kitchen." Then another gentleman appeared, turns out that this server was the owner. Filled w excuses and honestly, just because he was an immigrant doesn't mean he was a "brown"minority. This place is small and intimate, and they let us sit there, staring, looking, wondering why we are being treated different. No one said a peep until 45 minutes in. I started inquiring where our food was. I would've warned the handful of minorities that had arrived and we're waiting to be seated, but my husband asked me not to, as he said it's pointless and it looks like times haven't changed., especially in Carmel Not that it matters, but the lobster Benedict was mediocre at best, just enough lobster that it wasn't a lie I guess
