You can really taste it's quality meat that they serve. No doubt about it. I wish the drinks were included in the price like the other chubby cattle group KBBQ, not enough selections. And I don't mind a few appetizers to choose from coz it makes you too full. However, we both didn't like the service we got today. Our server wasn't that attentive to our needs, we have to flag him down each time and doesn't check on us if we needed anything and leave right away after giving us what we asked for. We have been to Chubby Cattle a few times before, so we are already familiar with the concept. I have seen some reviews comparing this location to other restaurants in the Chubby group, which does not feel entirely fair since the pricing here is lower, so expectations should be adjusted accordingly. We decided to do the half hotpot and BBQ option, but honestly it was not the best choice. The hotpot ran way too hot, while the grill did not seem to get enough heat. Some of the appetizers were good, others were just okay. Service was decent but a bit inconsistent. No one checked on us very often, and the iPad froze at times, which made it hard to get assistance. First off, this location was definitely a letdown compared to the Brea one. It's not buffet, this spot is AYCE where you order through a kiosk and the food is brought out to you. The space is really small, and waiting outside in the cold was not a great experience--having heaters for customers would've made a big difference. That said, our server Francis was informative and attentive. The menu, felt limited. The brisket and beef tongue came out chewy and tough, which was disappointing. Honestly, don't believe all the hype from social media influencers.... They offer both hot pot and Korean BBQ, but it seemed like hardly anyone was doing hot pot. Even our server suggested skipping it due to the lack of vegetable variety. At that point, they might as well just focus on AYCE instead. Overall, I've been to a few Chubby Cattle locations, and this one was by far the worst. On top of everything, we also felt rushed because of the time limit. First time dining at Wagyu Factory, and as a Chubby Group member, I had to check it out. I'm not sure when they officially opened, but from the outside it looks like they took over an older building. Once you walk in, though, you immediately get that familiar Chubby Group restaurant vibe. The space is on the smaller side, and I didn't notice a salad or side dish bar. We were seated right away, but our table for four felt a bit small and slightly cramped. The menu looked decent, and the member pricing was reasonable. Service was excellent. The servers and bussers were very attentive and stayed on top of everything. The food came out quickly, and the meat was delicious, juicy, flavorful, and the marinade is perfect and not overpowering. The sides were great as well. I also appreciated the ventilation system; the exhaust worked really well, and we didn't leave smelling like smoke. The only downside for me was the tablet ordering system. It was a bit frustrating to use, so I ended up ordering directly from our server instead, who was more than happy to help. What a place! Truly enjoyed every minute here thanks to the team! We had the best servers come by and the best team make sure we were well taken care of. Top notch service here truly made our night. Holiday feasting can't get any better than this place. Loved the selections and truly couldn't stop eating. We choose the regular set menu which was plenty for a group of 3. It includes amazing meat choices and seafood plus plenty of appetizers to choose from. You can select a menu and then have ayce of those meats available in that set. You have also the choice of vegetables and can get all the appetizers you want. I loved the dessert the most actually haha plenty of ice cream flavors to choose from. I had strawberry and vanilla which was such a nice combo. We'll be back to try all the different broths. Been there twice Price is not exactly affordable but considering they offer waygu it's not bad. Not every beef on their menu are waygu and the ones that are, come with an additional price tag. They have a membership system which the servers will try to sell, unless you're going to dine multiple times through the year, it's not necessary but you do get perks like birthday meal, discounted prices, etc They recently came out with their hotpot option, not the best. I don't think the food is worth its value unless you come weekday m-f when it's cheaper. It's very disappointing paying close to $50 pp and there's no hot pot available, some of the few items they actually do have are out of stock, the sides look and taste like they came out of the 99 ranch deli section or frozen aisle, and the soups you settled for since they don't have hot pot come out cold. We told them, it took 20 min for new soup to come out, and it was still cold! LOL. The meat is good. Best was the tongue for me and I'm already obsessed with Chinese bbq seasoning so I was happy to see that on the table. Everything else was an afterthought besides the bibimbap. That was actually pretty good. It was buttery....and hot...unlike our other sides (dumplings were cold too). You can order things with your server if the order clock is still counting down but you're ready for more items. Ours was nice. I understand all the chubby concepts are different, but I'm comparing this wagyu factory specifically to the wagyu factory in Tustin that opened around the same time as this one, has the same prices as this one, but has everything this one promised to offer and doesn't. They need to tear the hotpot sign down. I don't think they ever plan on serving hotpot. The restaurant is tiny and they're already using the hot pot self serve station as a server station. I like the nightclub/neon city look but the walls and everything painted black kinda feels claustrophobic and makes the space seem even smaller for some reason. Pretty disappointed. Reality did not meet expectations. I already suspected it might not be as good as the reviews say when I noticed most of the reviews mention servers by names and are very short. That usually tells me there's an incentive involved. You must order in intervals of like 7-9 minutes and You can only order so many items per round (you are also timed upon sitting). I forgot how long. No more than 90 mins I think. Overall the food was just OK. We ordered a few things that never came out which was irritating because it took up our item limit per round. They should have *sold out on the item if they're not going to have it. My parents complained about the price but I thought it was decent for all you could eat. I would say it's probably better to go as a couple vs a large family in terms of time and how much you can order and cook. We were a family of 5 and ordering and cooking on just one eye made it difficult to order, cook, and eat. I would recommend no more than 3 people per eye. Otherwise, service was very good. Wagyu factory broke my Japanese Bbq cherry and I'm happy it was here... My husband and I came here when they had first just opened. Like any yelper, i was scrolling down the feed when i noticed the location was in rancho. We drove out pretty late at night close to 9PM and were seated decently quick. The server explained that we place the orders through the IPad and they bring it. I will say Jbbq is very different to kbbq in the sense that the meat cuts are small and the grill kind of gets the meat cooks super quick and can get stuck if you don't cook it carefully. The cuts of meat are all good, i think the ribeye chuck is prob my favorite as well as the short ribs. But honestly it all hits! I say it's definitely a nice place to come and try and the location doesn't play super loud music so you can actually talk with the people on the table. Positives: Easy to find, great parking, clean interior, staff was friendly and accommodating, and quality of meat was great. Negatives: 90 minutes time limit, iPad froze multiple times throughout the meal, about one third of the items pictured were not available. Lack of variety. Come in with a game plan if you want to maximize your experience! Maybe it's because as an experienced KBBQ diner, I haven't had to plot and plan how to get my money's worth at an AYCE in decades and did not prepare myself for the challenge but overall for $50 pp, I enjoyed this meal less than a regular $35 KBBQ experience. You have 90 minutes for your entire meal and you can only order 8 items max at a time, and you can only order once every 7 minutes. Last call is at 70 minutes. If you do the math that means you can only place an order 10 times. Take into account that side dishes like their soup and hot stone bibimbap, appetizers, banchan are included in that 8 item limit, where in other places they only count the proteins. About half of the side dishes were not available and we had to ask our server to restart our iPad 3 times. Those delays ate into our ordering time. That said, instead of enjoying the food, we were in a race against the clock. We were balancing our time looking at the clock and watching the meat so it didn't burn and we were only kinda successful. Idk if anyone likes charred Wagyu because that wasn't pleasant. I understand the establishment is trying to limit food waste from over-ordering but the truth was we ended up ordering extra and not finishing because we had it in mind to order every 7 minutes on the dot instead of just ordering when we were ready for more. Also if you have a large group it is inconvenient because you'll either have to split up your party or it would be one long table and only 1 grill. That and the 8 item max per order, you wouldn't be able to order enough in time to satisfy your party. I think this is a restaurant where if 2-4 ppl were eating, it would be ok but any more like our party would probably experience a less desirable situation. If you do come here, be ready for the restrictions and have a designated person to order while one or two others cook, and have one person watch the clock for you. If you get that choreography down, you'll have a better time than me and my family for sure. Chalk it up to our inexperience. Some of the portions per plate were a bit small for sharing between five people. Whether it was slices of meat, veggies, or fruit, sometimes it just wasn't quite enough to go around. I think 3-4 people per table would've been a better setup. We had a 90-minute dining limit, which was plenty of time to eat and get full, but the first few rounds felt a little like we were rationing food. That was more on us for splitting the group the way we did though. If you're planning to come here with a big group, I'd recommend not crowding too many people per table as spot definitely works better for smaller parties. The food quality was much better than the more affordable AYCE KBBQ spots, so you really do get what you pay for. Love the lighting inside that's great for photos. Inside is clean and there's some cute signs inside. Meat is served nicely and everything was tasty. From the appetizers to the meats to the dessert. Some of my favorites was the ribeye wagyu + yuzu and miso short plate were my favorite meats. The Portuguese tarts seem as if you would purchase it because they were so nice. No self serve, you pay for your own drinks, you order everything! I've been to a couple of the chubby group restaurants and when I saw this one had open up near my parents house I was eager to give it a try! The restaurant itself looked very nice, very clean and the decor is aligned with all their other restaurants. I've always loved how they decorate their places, it always looks soooo cool! I will say the space does feel a little small though. The service was good, both the hostess and our waiter were super nice. Made sure we got everything, checked in frequently, and made sure we got everything we needed. The food was alright, but I personally felt it didn't quite amaze me as much as the other chubby group kbbq restaurants. The lobster dumpling was pretty good, but the kimchi one was sort of mushy inside? Didn't like the texture of that one. My party of 5 arrived on a Monday night around 820pm and only had to wait 10mins for the staff to prepare our table. The interior is well lit but not overly bright which created a great ambiance. It was my groups first time visiting, our server Alvin was clear and helpful with explaining how to order via the tablet. I appreciated how effortless it was to order everything on the menu and we also liked how you could order up to 8 items at once. During the service Alvin was attentive on refilling our water pitchers and bringing more sides. Each round can be submitted 8mins at time, there is a timer that shows how long you'll need to wait in between rounds before submitting. My friends and I were blown away at how quickly each round would come. Each meat we ordered tasted delicious and was high quality as well. You must try the earl grey Swiss roll, ITS AMAZING!! I wanted to give 5 stars but there were two areas that fell short for me. First, the wire mesh used to grill the meat is too thin. The meat would stick to the wire mesh thus making it difficult to flip over when one side is done cooking. Second, it's difficult to visually identify which plate of meat was what. The food runner brings the plates to our table but didn't tell us which plate had which meat on it. My friends and I had to keep guessing which meats we liked and didn't like. Perhaps assigning numbers to the meats on the menu and labeling the plate with those numbers will help customers identify which plate is which meat. Tried This Place today! They are a part of the Cattle Franchise. It's a nice middle pricing for what you get. Meats were pretty good overall! Marco was our Server he was Attentive and super nice! Paid around $76 for 2 people, wait was not bad at opening for a weekday. My favorite Meat was the Yuzu short rib and i loved the Kimchi dumplings! My only issue was I wished the rice was softer , the tablet did not allow us to add cold dishes for some reason, it may just be a tech issue. This was my first time trying a restaurant in the Chubby Cattle Family. Not only are these restaurants just really far away from where I live, the price point is a little higher than I usually spend for my kbbq experiences. We decided to go with our family when we were visiting and decided to get the annual membership for $58 which would give two of our family members a small discount so we will slowly chip away at offsetting that membership cost. I am no meat specialist. If you tell me something is A5, A4 I'll just have to take your word for it. We came here in a group of 9 around 4pm and there was no wait. Our group sat in two booths across from each other. Each table comes equipped with an iPad to place your order for all your meats, sides and desserts. There's a limit to the # of items you can order and there's a 5 minute wait between each order. You can place things in your cart and hit the go button when you're ready. It takes a lot of coordinating and agreement amongst the table to carefully strategize your order because it is impressed upon you once you arrive that it's a 90 minute hardcore seating. I get it, they have to put parameters in place to be able to accommodate all guests and to run things smoothly. Unfortunately, things weren't smooth for us leading to a mediocre experience. We placed orders for our meat but service was heavily interrupted multiple times. Because one server went on break. The one who responds to tickets on meat orders and at one point we were told the butcher was break. The best part of the meal was that the staff was very friendly and professional. They apologized for the wait and agreed to add time to our 90 mins due to the multiple delays. Because we sat across from our family, who was able to their meat orders in. We shared some of their food. Just to be able to keep eating. I was told by family members it's not real waygu and it definitely is not waygu from Japan. I didn't expect it to be since it's an ayce for $50 but it's in your restaurant name. So you got to step it up y'all. Overall, I really liked the restaurant decor and their dishes were designed really efficiently. One tray for our sauce and our food. Sauces are on the table and you have to order everything else through the iPad. Towards the end of our meal. Sesame oil was brought out. Not sure why, that wasn't given at the beginning or even an option. That would've been helpful, because the meats were cut paper thin and stick to the grill. Maybe if I dip some of the meats before grilling that would help. There really wasn't many pieces of meat that I could eat that didn't crumble and break into multiple pieces. This particular location is still very new and operations are still in their soft phase. Don't come hungry, but come with an open mind and grace. It will take some time to get your food as they're working things out. This place is not self serve nor do they offer shabu. It appears they intended to but the concept didn't flush out. So now they have to tell all their customers and explain this is only a kbbq and the self service area that you see pictures of online. Are not operable. The servers use this area to stage the food and bring it to you. This wasn't the greatest intro to Chubby Cattle for me. But since we've already invested in membership I will definitely try other restaurants in the chain and excited to try one of their shabu restaurants. We had been to other locations note they were Chubby cattle factories not wagyu factory but I thought there wouldn't be that much of a difference because they are under the same brand. But boy were we WRONG The reason we gave it a two star and not less because of the service the service was great our server and host were amazing and also we did like the fact none of the food was just laying out like the other ones because we did see a kid at a different location cough in the side dish bar but this location nothing is self serve. The bad thing about this place is there is not seating to wait for your table except for outside but if it is cold then not great. The second thing was the menu. The menu didnt have a lot of items that we saw people posted on the menu Ipad from this place ex fried shrimp gyoza and Tonkatsu so that was disappointing and almost felt like it was false advertising especially if you dont eat the beef if we had known they didnt have that many alternative we would have gone somewhere else. Also this place does not have sushi like the chubby cattle places which if you have a date or friends that doesn't eat beef they will not have many choices for them. The fish was great but not the shrimp. The shrimp option tasted weird tasted very frozen not fresh. The texture of it felt mushy and just crumbles like powdered egg and also the smell was overbearing smelled rotten. They also do not have any sauces just the 1 sauce. Also they dont have drinks that come with it like chubby cattle you have to pay. Overall the two star was for the service not the food. The food was not good and we will not come back here again. We are going to stick was the chubby Cattle factory as they have more options for non beef eaters to enjoy supper together and so next we are going try Chubby Cattle Irvine location. read more
