We selected this place because we have had Fogo in the past in San Antonio, TX. So for my birthday I selected the Rancho location. We were seated right away at 5:15-5:30. The server was good and the other staff around checking on any table needs. For the food. We looked over the menu and saw some good items. Of course my daughter and I were going to eat the full Churrasco @74$ per person. My wife had the chicken salad which she usually gets and my other daughter went with the sliders. The sliders were so small and packed with romaine lettuce and a tiny meat patty. Very disappointing. Lacked decent flavor for such a small item. My wife's chicken salad which was served without the chicken was very bland. Not like the salad in San Antonio. We then had to flag down our waiter after 10 minutes to ask for the chicken. This was served on a separate plate and warm to temp. Again very disappointed for this level of establishment. On to the meat portion of the afternoon for my 18 year old and myself. The cuts were as usual but what was not was the results. The meat in my opinion seemed reheated. Yeah, to my disbelief some of the meat was not fresh, seemed a little overcooked like when reheated. The beef ribs were very greasy/oily to taste. We didn't see any ribeye cuts and even the filet was average. Other cuts a little salty. I mean the salad bar was ok but the best thing there was the bread and candy bacon. We were super disappointed with our meals. It was my birthday and the last thing I wanted to do was complain about it. So we paid the bill tipped our waiter well and left. Probably to never go back again. The setting of the restaurant was enjoyable. The Ambience was relaxing and enjoyable. It just doesn't offset the disappointment. In closing, I have had other local Brazilian steakhouses and the food was much better and not 74$ per person. I felt as if we got there too early and had leftovers. Coming from a family that has been in the restaurant and craft services in studio settings, this was by far a failed experience and decision to dine here. My hubby and I went last night the location in Rancho Cucamonga. We sat as was told our server would be with us. As we sat there we wait til one of the floor supervisor came to our table to start us with drinks. Well, the drinks came, but the server never came and intro himself. After flagging down the floor supervisor to refill or drinks, the server finally came to our table. He said sorry and to make sure if we need anything to let him know. We'll need refills on our drinks. Well, this is awful customer service! We would like a refill but, he was no where to be found. We noticed all the other tables had attentive servers looking over the guest, but we felt ignored. This server should be retrained on customer service. We received a call that our table was finally ready a full hour after our reservation time -- completely unacceptable. If you're planning a special occasion, don't rely on their reservation system. My first time trying a brazilian steak house. The decor gives an elevated feel and the smells were appealing. But would say that servers need more training: 1) We weren't made aware of the churrasco chip (red for "no more" and green for "more) until our waiter noticed that we hadn't been served any meats. And even then, we were told that it just needed to be on our table to be served. As we ate our dessert, overheard another waiter explain what each flip side meant to another couple that had just sat down. 2) when it came to paying, we were told our two gift cards were defective. Frustrating, but we went to Costco to remedy it. They informed us that whoever had served us, charged it and then canceled it, leading it to be flagged and locked. Frustrating to deal with. Back to the meal: Since we got the churrasco experience, we had access to the "salad bar". They have more than salad but be aware food is served chilled. Personally, certain things I like to have warm (asparagus, mushrooms, grilled cauliflower). I would say keeping certain items over a warming tray. Idk, just less appetizing to have it chilled besides those Kalamata olives, whole grain mustard, and hummus. Note: the plate you used for the salad bar is where your churrasco meat will be served too. "Gaucho chefs" would make their way around the dining room announcing the type of meat and offering it to those tables with chips. Only when waiter noted our missing service (and chips) did we have a wave of 5 chefs come by. After that, it was sparse. We must have been in an overlooked spot or maybe its intentional so you get full from nibbling on the sides provided? Unsure. I mostly enjoyed the sweet bread and Maduros (fried plantains). The meat experience varied. It would be over salted, overcooked edges, or fatty but sometimes you would get a succulent piece, if sliced at the right spot. By the way, the mini tongs they have at your table, are for holding the meat they are slicing for you. Be aware the juice can spurt as theyre cut. Overall, I would say I liked the drinks (Caipirinha). The strawberry hibiscus was made with fresh fruit but the chunks were a little too thick. That and the ice made up half my glass and also got stuck in the straw. Habañero mango was much smoother. Make sure to get those in as the timing was off. My partner was having Stella's and even his drinks would take 20 min. to get to our table from the bar. Made my way back again. Maybe an off day since last time was SIGNIFICANTLY better and this time was very off-putting. Staff was friendly but whenever they mentioned they would do something it never got done. Had to ask for a drink 3-4 times just to get one drink. Many of my colleagues decided to just leave because they never got the meats they wanted. We asked for cinnamon roasted pineapple maybe 5 times throughout the night and kept being told it was on the way and NOT ONCE did it arrive throughout the whole night. The salad bar - argula looked shriveled and many of the fruits looked unappetizing and dry. My colleague described the salad bar items as "sad" looking. On top of all of this when pouring the cheese honey, the waiter dripped honey off the plate and onto my pants. They also dropped bacon while slicing the meat, on to my dessert takeout without realizing. Worst of all they dripped oil onto my jacket which was resting on the back of my chair when moving around the meats. I did get to compare the chocolate dessert items and highly recommend the Chocolate Brigadeiro over the molten lava hands down. The cheesecake brulee is still the classic and my favorite but the brigadeiro is also delicious. Overall, was very disappointed with the service and quality today. It was my first time here during Valentine's Day weekend. The tables were really close and tight together where your elbows were almost touching the other person's and just enough room behind you to get up. The food itself was good, but we were repeatedly offered the same cuts while waiting quite a while to see the filet mignon and bone-in ribeye. FOGO de CHAO is a unique dining experience. My wife had heard about it from her colleagues, so she insisted that we go. Our main server, Homer, was great, very attentive, returning often to check on us. First of all, expect to pay at least $53 per person (plus tax and tip, of course). If you are a seafood eater, expect to pay at least $73. $53 gets you a salad bar and a variety of freshly cut meats. The restaurant is elegant. The tableware has the restaurant's name on them. The tableware includes mini-tongs, which you will use to catch your slice of meat as the server slices it off the post. The long tables, presumably set for groups, have tablecloths; the napkins are linen. We ordered the $53 options. As another reviewer suggested, you shouldn't take too much food from the salad bar; instead, you should save room for the meats. One warning: you must be patient when it comes to waiting for the meat. There are a number of servers circulating around the room, each with a different cut of meat. Also, if you wait for a particular cut of meat, you may be waiting a while, so take what you get and try to request what you want. (Patience is the key. If you don't like waiting for your food, this is NOT the place to go.) Another suggestion: We saw a couple next to us take two plates apiece from the salad bar, one under the other. When they sat down, they set out the empty plates to receive meat from the servers. The salad bar warning may be futile. When you see the salad bar, you are met with a variety of unusual selections, from tomato slices topped with basil and mozzarella to asparagus and dragonfruit and pineapple slices and sliced cold meat cuts and the usual lettuce and salad dressings. I walked away with a plateful of options. (See pic.) Unfortunately, the all-you-can-eat nature of the meal prohibited me from taking home my fat trimmings for my dogs. Probably one of the worst Fogo de chão restaurants I've ever been to. Came here for an event and it was not good. The food itself was delicious, well I should say all 4 pieces of meat I got were delicious. They barely came around to serve the churrasco and we had to get our waitress involved to have them start to bring meats over. Additionally, I asked one of their servers to bring the beef rib and she said they didn't offer it here and then a few minutes right after we got the check... THEY BROUGHT IT OUT. What a joke. The one thing that I enjoyed were the beef ribs but I had to ask them twice to bring it out. They almost never walk around with it. $73 per person for Thanksgiving was NOT worth it. I had such a fantastic time last Friday night! It had been a rough and long week but I wanted to get out and celebrate one of my bestie's birthdays and she wanted to come here. We just got back from dinner at Fogo De Chão and it was SO GREAT! They just opened Monday and I'm pleasantly surprised how great everything was on their fifth night being open. Our server was Mariam and she was nothing short of incredible! Super attentive, got us everything we needed. They also had like lead servers walking around introducing themselves to each table telling us if we wanted anything specific from the grill to let them know and they'd get us whatever we wanted. The salad bar was great, lots of options and everything tasted super fresh. Lots of meat cuts - we had bacon wrapped sirloin, garlic pichana, regular pichana, chicken, pork sausage, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few others. The servers passing out the meat were so nice and one guy was actually really funny. Just top notch service over all honestly. I definitely did not eat th $79 worth of food, but this is for sure going to be our go-to steakhouse for date nights. The place is decently sized. I noticed they had two rooms for larger parties that had doors that could close off for a bit of privacy. The bathrooms were on the smaller side, only three stalls for the women's room and I waited in line for a bit. When we got there, we did have a reservation so after checking in, we were seated within 2-3 minutes. Every table in the restaurant was filled for sure. We used to go to the Brazilian steakhouse across from FDC, but their service was just so god awful that we swore we'd never go back there again. As always, food was great! Cuts were at a perfect medium rare and the salad bar had my favorite cold cuts. I usually don't try the feijoada - bean stew - when I visit a Brazilian churrasco. But this time it was different, it was very flavorful and the most authentic I've tried. Come to find out, the manager, Alvaro, uses his recipe himself. I met a new carver, José, who's fresh from Brazil. His wife makes some of the food in the kitchen too. Doesn't get any more authentic than this. Like before, service was quick and efficient and our server, Damon, was extremely friendly and helpful. Kids loved talking to him. Dinning area and restrooms were very clean and everyone was dressed up. It is a very upscale vibe. Two visits. Two failures. Zero accountability. We really wanted to love this place. We gave it a second chance, and they made sure we'd regret it. First visit: We were seated away from the main dining floor, and the meat service completely forgot we existed. Our server was genuinely great and flagged the team for us. Still nothing. We had to ask for the manager twice before anyone took it seriously. Eventually the meat started coming around, but the manager's response throughout was indifferent at best. Second visit: We came back for a friend's birthday hoping the first time was a fluke. The host was warm and welcoming, honestly the best part of the night. But from there it fell apart. Our server never introduced himself until we were more than halfway through dinner. We had to flag him down repeatedly for water and basic sides, and every request felt like an inconvenience to him. We waited over 30 minutes just to get fried bananas. When we finally reminded him about our friend's birthday dessert and got the manager involved, the dessert eventually arrived. Wrong order. After all that waiting. The manager both visits showed zero urgency and zero ownership. That's a leadership problem, not just a server problem. As someone Brazilian, I'll say it plainly: this place is an embarrassment to Brazilian hospitality. Fogo de Chão built its name on warmth and abundance. This location delivers neither. Possibly due to 4 large parties in that small place. 1. My wife was looking forward to the "lamb chops" but she could only taste it twice (2X) from a distance where all the pieces went to one section of the restaurant. 2. Very less often 3-4X our server would come by and refill our drinks then disappear. The final time was "last call" at 9:45p where our server came over and "what would you like? " I replied "I don't know what do you have? Since you don't have lamb nor ribeye?" No indication of exactly your list of meats!!! He then referred to the manager.. and "here we go" Manager - "My deepest apologies" would you like dessert on us? Even when we agreed the couple next to us up and left because they were treated the same way. Not a discount, not a voucher not even to say it's on us. My partner called this the rich man's buffet. But they have an amazing happy hour. Our server, Damon, was exceptional. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. The food was so good. It just kept coming the whole time we were there. The only issue I had was the mashed potatoes were cold. The food bar that comes with the meal has great options. We celebrated my 50th birthday at Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse, and overall it was a very good experience! We usually go to their Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse location in Irvine so we wanted to try something different this time. Our reservation was at 2:00 PM, but we arrived 30 minutes early and they were kind enough to accommodate us right away, which we really appreciated. Our server was very nice and attentive. The food was delicious as always, and the staff bringing around the meats were friendly and courteous. The only downside was that the meat service felt a bit slow at times--we honestly felt like our table may have been overlooked for a while. On a sweet note, they surprised me with a complimentary birthday dessert, which made the celebration even more special Overall, still a very good dining experience, and a memorable way to celebrate my 50th birthday! read more
