I cannot say enough about this awesome AYCE. This restaurant is my favorite restaurant, and I go here all the time, so trust my review. Let me start with the amazing service. While you are eating, there are waiters and waitresses that come by and take all your plates. There was NEVER a time where the table had many dirty plates. You will always have enough room to put your food on the table. The waiters and also really helpful, and are kind to you. The best waiter we had was Hatch, so if you get him as your waiter, you're in luck. Then, there's the food. There is almost anything you can think of. Hot pot, side dishes, ice cream, rice, seafood, sushi, dim-sum, etc! They have a large selection of soups, and my personal favorite is the Japanese Tonkotsu, as it is very creamy and not too salty. For the hot pot, there's a whole section of meat you can choose from. If you are a vegetarian, there's no problem! They have ramen, quail eggs, tofu, variety of imitation meat balls, crab sticks, and a whole lot of vegetables. Every thing is fresh, and they even have a rice station to those people who love rice. There are also hot dishes like clams, kimchi, lobster rolls (sometimes), wagyu sliders, shrimp kebabs, and more! Reminder: the side dishes usually vary on different days, so don't look forward to one of these dishes and not see it there. A ramen station and a sauce station is also available. Lastly, there are two dessert stations. One with cakes and pastries which are next to the wagyu sliders. Then, there's the ice cream station. There's a freezer with ice cream bars and/or ice cream cups. They have interesting flavors like ube and thai iced tea. Or for soft-serve lovers, there is also a soft-serve station with vanilla, chocolate, or a swirl of both. The setting makes you feel cozy and welcomed as there are bright signs, and everyone gets their own mini pot if your party isn't that big. However, if your party is that big, then you might have to share a big pot. It's also very spacious, clean, and modern, as the place is pretty big. Everything, is great quality, and you won't ever see a ripped booth seat, or a dirty table. Enjoy your time at Wagyu Factory, and I know that you will have a great experience there. I used to be a big fan of the Chubby brand, but Chubby has definitely lost some of its charm -- and apparently some of its staff. Came here for Saturday lunch and the restaurant wasn't even that busy, yet we waited 20 minutes to be seated because they were clearly understaffed. Once seated, our waiter made one brief appearance and then vanished into the abyss. We didn't see him again until the end of the meal. At that point, I wasn't sure if we had a waiter or had just imagined one. The food is basically buffet-style, with the hot food sitting under heat lamps and the raw meats out for you to grab. Unfortunately, the raw meat wasn't being replenished fast enough. Even better, there was ONE pair of tongs for everyone. Nothing says premium dining experience like standing in line waiting for a stranger to finish selecting their raw meat so you can inherit the communal tongs. We finally asked an employee for more tongs. Apparently additional tongs required management approval, manufacturing, and international shipping because it took forever for them to appear. Then came the flies. There were flies EVERYWHERE. And when you have food sitting out in the open, you can probably guess where they were hanging out. I personally watched flies land and relax on some of the food like they had also paid for the buffet. At that point, I started wondering if this is why the restaurant is so dark. Mood lighting? Or plausible deniability? All jokes aside, they seriously need more staff, better training, and much better attention to cleanliness and food handling. I had similar issues at Niku X and Chubby Mart, especially with the lack of staff training, so unfortunately this seems to be a pattern. For what Chubby charges and the image they're trying to maintain, the experience should be MUCH better. I used to really like this brand, which makes the decline even more disappointing. Located at Tustin Legacy, there's plenty of parking. I've heard good things about this spot so I was glad to finally try. We had a party of 13 since we were having a farewell dinner for my friend. We made a reservation ahead and they put us on one of the private rooms. We had our own room which was really nice since it was intimate. There were 12 individual pots total and so we had one of our friends share. I was honestly overwhelmed going in because there were so many different food sections and the signs were overstimulating. It's nice since you can get your own meat. The meat displayed is for the basic menu. They have a good amount of veggies and sides. They have a sauce section and have little posters providing examples of sauce combos. They have sushi as well as a hot food bar with items like nuggets and burgers. My favorite was the milk tea machine. Sadly the ice cream machine was broken when we went. The overall quality of the meat was really good. It melt in my mouth. I got the tom yum soup base and it was a spice that slowly built up. I had to request for a different soup to mix in to tone it down. It was hard to enjoy at first. Kept passing by this in the tustin plaza over the past year and have been wanting to try it, finally got the chance to and redeemed my birthday meal from chubby plus membership :) Was originally going to try the lake forest location but please do note that this tustin location is hot pot while the other wagyu factory locations in brea and lake forest are bbq. At $49.99 for the standard price, you get a good variety of different food items. It's a self serve buffet unless you order the premium option which is around $15(?) more for unlimited a5. The standard option already includes unlimited salmon and unagi sushi, dimsum, curry rice, fried snacks, burger, lobster roll, cakes, lychee/passionfruit slush, oolong milk tea, soda machine, sauce bar similar to haidilao, meat station and veggie stations. Compared to mikiya, this place has a lot more options. My faves were the udon, wagyu chuck tender, quail egg, japanese tonkotsu broth, oolong milk tea. our server britney was very friendly and she said it was her first day serving which didnt seem like it at all to me. she was super nice and helped us out a lot but it was pretty random because a different girl had taken our soup orders first and then she disappeared lol. We were confused but britney ended up being able to help us out so it was fine. There was an offputting burnt smell around certain areas prob bc other guests forgot to turn off their pots and no one checked it. it smelled really bad. some of the walkways for thr food in the back area where the sodas are were also tight to walk through but other than that it was a nice ambience. read more

Really solid hot pot with a TON of sides, drinks, and dessert. $44 for chubby club members for dinner, and it seemed to be a good value. The quality of the meat is good enough, as well! I didn't see king crab this time, but that's okay because it wasn't that good anyway when we tried it last visit (it was covered in some kind of chili sauce). I usually come here for weekday lunch since it's close to the office, and the huge selection makes it easy to find something for everyone. They have a wide variety of meats, vegetables, sides, and other hot pot ingredients, so you're definitely getting plenty of options. The quality is consistently good, especially for the price. There's usually around a **15-minute wait** during weekday lunch, but considering how popular the place is, that's not too bad. We came here to celebrate my son's birthday and we were able to make reservations online which made the process very easy and efficient. We were greeted by our server and he showed us the different types of soup bases we can choose from. I really like that it's individual pots so we can all have our own soup bases. I chose the sukiyaki base and it was not too sweet or too salty which was perfect. I really liked the variety of different cuts of wagyu beef, pork and lamb and also a lot of vegetables and sides options. There was a lot of hot prepared food as well as sushi options. To end the meal I got the self serve ice cream and there were cakes and egg tarts too. The store is very nicely decorated. This used to be our go to hot pot spot. In my previous review I gave this place a 5 star and have been here many times. Recently they had a change to their menu and also had a layout change. They no longer have any a5 wagyu meats in the regular menu but added a premium add on with a5 options. Decided to try the premium but all the meats came frozen. Some of the hot items were missing. When asked about it the serve just said yeah it's a gamble of what you get. This place used to be the best hot pot in OC but it's really gone downhill. THE GOOD: Overall, there's a good selection of fresh wagyu, veggies, seafood, and drinks. You can go up and get meat refills without waiting. Given how it's wagyu, I like that there were leaner cuts without it being all fatty. The broths we got were nicely seasoned. THE MEH: I wish they had more hot pots in the booths for 6 ppl- there was only 2 so broth choices were limited and fishing out things you put in was a little difficult. The table for 4 had their own pots...Our server came around once or twice then disappeared until it was time to pay. Lots of options, meat was good quality. I like how you can grab the meat yourself instead of having to order/wait for the servers. Besides meat, there's a variety of appetizers and a good assortment of desserts that include egg tarts, small cakes, and soft serve ice cream. The egg tarts were surprisingly good, although it was very buttery/heavy, so I definitely can't too many of them, haha. The drink station was also great with so many options and the drinks aren't too sweet either. It does get crowded around the meat/food/drink stations though since the aisles are pretty narrow. While we were already impressed with the food, the service we received was even more impressive. Our server Evelyn was a total sweetheart and so attentive to our table. She made hot tea for my parents, helped us defrost our meat, and just brought us anything we needed with a smile and wonderful attitude. AYCE, but there's no food to eat... Concept was good, execution was poor. They did not refill the food fast enough so people started grabbing a ton when it did finally refill. Most of the time there was no meat and I kept having to get up to check if they refilled. This was such a stressful dining experience. Meat quality was good (when I finally got some), other food options were mediocre at best. The space was very narrow and you have to be careful not to bump into other people. There were several flies flying around the food since everything was just left open. Overall, definitely not worth the price and I will not be coming back. Great staff members they constantly check on us, amazing food selections on meat, veggies, seafood, noodles, dipping sauce station . My friend and I came here for their lunch special. It was $35 for members and $40 non members for all you can eat. I love the variety they have here. You get to pick from the variety of broths they have and if you do not like it, let the server know and they can switch it out for you! Then, you go to the bar area and serve yourself the meat. Which is awesome because you get to pick how much or how little you want. They also have a veggie area, seafood area, noodles, and other types of meatball /shrimp ball you would like to put into your hot pot. They also have a "hot" bar where they have cheeseburgers, lobster roll, fried chicken wings, chicken nuggets, french fries, sushi, beef short rib, dimsum. Unlimited fountain drink and lemonades. Also, they have ice cream and melona bars. Their egg tart was sooo yummy! So much flavor, so soft and so flaky. This place is amazing and definitely love the option! My friend ended up getting the membership since her birthday is next month and pretty much the membership pays for your birthday meal and we both got to get the membership price for our lunch. This is easily one of my favorite ayce hot pot spots in OC. I've been here many times and honestly don't have anything bad to say about it. The restaurant is always clean, and I love the interior design and overall ambiance. Everything feels modern, organized, and well maintained. Compared to a lot of other self serve restaurants, the food stations here are consistently stocked, fresh, and clean. The selection is huge. They have a great variety of seafood, meats, vegetables, hot foods, drinks, and desserts. I especially love the self serve drink station but sometimes a machine or two is out of service. I usually get the spicy tonkotsu broth but their sukiyaki broth is really good too. The eel nigiri is my favorite but the salmon can be a little fishy at times. The dim sum is decent but nothing particularly memorable. I also love the wide variety of sauces at the sauce bar since you can customize your dipping sauce however you want. I haven't tried too many of the desserts, but the egg tarts are definitely my favorite. The service here is always on point and everyone is super friendly. I recently visited Wagyu Factory that is located in the District Tustin Legacy and had a good visit. The restaurant has a modern and stylish atmosphere that feels both casual and upscale. Everything was clean and well organized, making it a great place for a nice lunch or dinner with friends and family. Parking was convenient since the restaurant is located in a shopping center with a large shared parking lot nearby. The service was also very good throughout our dining experience. Staff members were friendly, attentive, and happy to explain the different cuts of wagyu and menu recommendations. Orders came out quickly, and the overall experience felt welcoming and enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious and full of rich flavor. Some of the top menu items I recommend are the Wagyu Beef Bowl and Wagyu Fried Rice. We got their Japanese A5 Wagyu plates which was fatty and tasty just right amount of flavor to satisfy my hunber. The beef was incredibly tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. They even have a hot food bar and I got some egg tarts a swell. Quite good! They have membership and non membership prices. Getting the premium meats is worth it for the marbling and sweetness. I originally chose seafood stock which made most buffet items salty, but they let you switch broths if you want to cook ramen in tonkotsu soup base for example. My favorite part was the variety of drinks. On a weekday evening there were two kinds of milk teas (oolong + pandan) and three slushies in addition to the soda fountain. Unless your dining companion cannot take the noise of family parties, I would recommend this restaurant to any picky eater. read more

We arrived around 1600 hours, which of course, the restaurant was recovering from the lunch crowd and preparing for the crazy dinner crowds that were starting to build up. A few minor observations of the restaurant operations overall: 1. Any specific reason the Non-Asians or mixed Asian diners were seated in the side dining area behind the hostess desk? I thought my Caucasian wife was seeing things until I started paying attention to who was being seated in our area versus the main dining area. 2. A lot of the sliced beef selections were frozen to their metal serving dishes. My wife and I had to prop the metal plates on the broth pot to thaw enough to remove the meat slices. 3. My wife trued the kumquat slushy, and that has now become her favorite beverage there. We're hoping this flavored slushy is always offered! The fried foods were below average. For the 35 dollar lunch price point though, i was satisfied. The service was just "okay". Wagyu factory was a great dining experience. I was planning to get together with a couple of friends. And saw that why the factory was one of the places nearby we kind of just stumbled upon it. Another friend had said that they had been here before in the past. Turns out that this place I'd like opened up since September So it's still a relatively new I've gone to some of the chubby group locations in the past. So I knew what I was getting myself into in the best way possible. There are some confusion at least on the yelp reservation process. If it's under a party of six they do not put you in the VIP area so I wanted to make sure that I was getting charged extra. Prices for the weekdays tend to be a bit lower than the weekends. But this is definitely a place to come and get some amazing shabu shabu. At first, we weren't really sure where things were but here most of the things are self service. There are a couple things that you can order through the iPad. But most of things we would go and get on your own including the meat and the veggies and everything else. There's so many amazing things to get. I had to make a separate trips. The curry rice and the minced beef rice were all really good too I really was a big fan of their egg tarts. They were great. I keep thinking about them. Very phenomenal. I'm glad they opened up a similar Ish location here in the San Gabriel Valley closer to me, so I don't have to go all the way down to Orange County. read more

Although the photos show an extensive buffet whose items you can choose from, many of the cooked items were order-by-tablet only on the week night that I went. Only the desserts, drinks, and sauces were self serve. We were told we only had 90 minutes to eat, so we waited for everyone to show up. The staff was good at explaining the menu. We had a nice large room, but the room was a bit noisy. The restaurant overall had generous spacing. We tried to order as much as we could. We got the premium package so we had access to the A5 cuts. The wagyu was ok, I think I've had better cuts of beef elsewhere. I really enjoyed the sukiyaki broth for the beef. We also ordered a wide variety of sides. Most of the sides were fairly standard. The lobster roll was decent. The wagyu burger slider was very good though. Overall, solid hot pot restaurant but the beef was ok. read more

Love the meat, veggies, seafood, and hot food selections. The dumplings were just ok. The ice cream machine was out of service and the milk tea machines were empty. Love that you can just grab whatever meat you want rather than having to order them. The broth was good but they do get extremely salty. The servers come around asking if we want to add water to the broth which then makes the broth taste bland and then get salty again as it boils and loses its flavor. Nothing notable to mention about the service. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Will give them another try soon. read more

One of my favorite AYCE hot pot places. They offer a large variety of dishes and the meats are of higher quality. I love that it includes drinks including slushies. Lunch and dinner are almost the same food with the king crab legs offered during dinner. The king crab legs aren't really king crab. I don't care for it much and it runs out super fast. They have a new batch every half hour but you have to hurry and line up. In terms of prices, I do have a membership which essentially almost pays for itself since you do get to pay a discounted "member" price and receive a free meal on your birthday. I came in for lunch today and was surprised to see a price increase. They haven't updated their prices online yet so I wasn't expecting it. When I asked the manager, I was told that prices increased over Memorial Day. Previously lunch prices were $30 for members, now it's $35 which is a big jump. Basically those who paid for memberships are now paying the previous non-membership price. read more

Was looking forward to trying this spot after seeing it all over social media but was not impressed :( Brought a friend visiting from the Bay Area here for dinner. When we first got up to grab food from the buffet after ordering our broths, all of the meat options were nearly empty/ not restocked even though the restaurant was not busy. The hot food options and side dishes looked really sad and unappetizing. They had salmon nigiri sitting out on a counter, not in a fridge/cool food section. Meat quality once they were finally restocked was just meh. Pandan milk tea tasted watered down. Bathrooms were not clean, sink faucet handles were odd and felt unsanitary.
