Wah Sing's food was inedible: I had takeout from Wah Sing last night (12/9) and it was terrible! The pot stickers were undercooked and gummy and the chicken chow mien didn't have much in the way of veggies-hardly ANY at all. Food was pretty bland we orefered the mu Shu pork, crispy noodle chow mein walnut prawns and roasted duck which by the way tasted a little too aged. We tried a second time--with even worse results. Ordered on the phone. Went at the appropriate time. No food. Others walked in, ordered, and left with their food but ours was "coming soon." 45 minutes later, we left. Well, I'm back. The wifey and I got hit with that pnuemonia at the beginning of the year. Both hurtin' bad we opted for some soup....not just any soup...Won Ton Soup....the stuff Asian lore is built on. When you go to a Panda Express and there is a line out the door, you know you lack a good chinese restaurant. Wah Sing does a decent job of filling that void. I havnt sampled a ton of the menu, only a handful of items but they have always been pretty tasty. I really wish they delivered cuz that other placed in town that does deliver, delivers yesterdays meals on wheels if you feel me. Back to the soup. The soup was damn delicious and at like 5 and some change for a nice 2 person supply, your in like flynn. The reason for 4 stars is if you call in your order and you havnt lived under a rock for the past 20 years and seen Seinfeld, the guy on the phones down there reminds me alot of that place that sells soup to most people but not all. If getting take out, I have never had any problems, and the food is always nice and hot. I have grown up eating here, so as far as my view, its one of the best food wise in town. The downside, if you dine in. When we have been in a large group, its been okay service, a little slow, but you get your food, etc. But our experience just two people: My Husband and I decided to have a date night, and came here for dinner. When we got there, only one other group of 3 were seated. It took over 30 min to be handed our menu and given water, after waving the kid down multiple times. That should have caused us to leave, but we stuck it out. Then it took another 30min to take our order. Again, should have just walked out, but hung in because the food is good, and I was giving benefit of doubt thinking maybe they were short staffed, etc. Not the case. We watched a large group come in, be seated, menu given, orders placed, and food put on their table, all before we got ours, and we had been there first by a good 30 min! We stuck it out to the end, got our left overs to take home, no tip because of the crappy service, and havent gone there to dine in since. read more

I felt like Chinese food for lunch today and Wah Sing's has always been my go to place. I love the pork fried rice and also decided to order an apetizer - the vegetable rolls. The rice very oily and the rolls greasy. I decided to eat what I could and take the rest home to allow the food to "degrease." Not sure what has happened to this place lately, but the food has not been that awesome. The waitress also failed to bring me a bowl of the wonton soup of which they always serve along with water and a pot of tea. The fortune cookie they brought with my bill was stale - tasted like it had been in an open bag for sometime. Not okay to serve your customers food like this - come on owners - lets beef up the quality of food and service. read more

While we were eating, the restaurant thought it would be a good idea to clean the place with Fabuloso cleaner. Nothing like eating horrible Chinese Food while inhaling cleaner fumes. Oh yeah and the warm Sapporo was the icing on the cake. Never again I'll take Panda any day!!! read more

I love the hot and sour soup from Wah Sing. They have a solid menu if you're in the mood for Chinese, and the price is great. Sometimes they can be a bit pushy about what people order, and slightly judgmental...but hey, good take out. read more

Napa's BEST Chinese food! The food is always fresh and so delicious. Potstickers are a must try! They are so filling, fresh, and flavorful! They offer fabulous lunch specials and have very affordable prices. You can pick up an order to go or dine in and the service is always the same: attentive and quick! Don't be afraid to customize an order, the kitchen does not prepare your meal until it is ordered. They offer a variety of dishes in the menu, but also are open to making the dish to your liking. The restaurant itself might be a little hidden in Napa, but the food does not disappoint. read more

The service has been slow in the past. Last time I walded in with my wife and father we waited for some one to seat us. WE did not even get acknowledged that we had arrived. After several minutes of waiving my arm at waiters I turned to another man who was waiting also and he said it had been 5 minutes and all he wanted was to pick up a called in order. There we tables empty but it was busy. Maybe thery were short on help but very rude not to come over and let us know they saw us and it would be a few minutes before we were seated. I left finally and went to Mini Garden Family restaurant on California Blvd. Much better food and service. I will not go back to this restaurant until they change their management. read more

Best Chinese in Napa. We got here a lot. Sometimes the service is slow, but it you get Jimmy, he is awesome and super friendly. I moved out of town and can never find a place like this so we come back to down just for the Chinese sometimes. If you like spicy, the schewan (sp?) is delicious and spicy. Wah Sing is a great Chinese Restaurant. I go to it every time I come to Napa. It is has pretty standard Chinese food. I especially like their spicy chicken chow mein. Ask them for it if it not on the menu. The place is clean too. I would recommend it. read more

The main entrees don't come with steamed rice, talk about nickel and diming the customer. Otherwise food was typical Chinese take out.

I ordered veggie chowmein and said medium spicy, it was like the cook emptied the entire bottle of spices for my order. To top it when i called(it was a to go order) he offered to change and said next time, I will make it bland for you. This is our lowest spice level, he just wouldn't agree that the cook made a mistake and will try to accommodate my request for medium spicy. Its either a bottle of spice or bland....bad service. So I was told, i can come back return the spicy noodles and get the bland ones and make do with sauce on the side. I said i will be there 10-15 mins, when I got there about 20-25 minutes later, the order is not ready again and I said I won't wait, by this time my appetite is all gone. He shoved the money in my face, palm facing in the air. I have never, never had this bad an experience anywhere. read more

Got $50 worth of takeout. This food was all very weird smelling and tasting. We had spring rolls which were average tasting and greasy, Kung pao chicken (gross), mixed veggies (these were very simple but actually decent with some nice Chinese mushrooms), Mongolian beef (gross), steamed rice (fine). Went to lunch with some co-workers and since Wah Sing was right across the street, we decided to give it a shot, WORSE decision we could have made. I ordered the sweet and sour pork lunch special and the pineapple chunks were cold and mushy...YUCK! My co-worker had the broccoli beef and the broccoli was a pale shade of green....very unappetizing. The spring rolls were cold and mushy in the center and even the water was awful tasting! I will say that the egg drop soup and the pork mu-shu was pretty good...but overall, I would rather go to a Panda Express...at least their stuff LOOKS fresh!! read more

My husband and I have eaten at Wah Sing since we were dating, about 18 years or so now. Our family gathers there for family birthday get-togethers because the food is always great, the service is really good and we have never been disappointed with a meal. We will all order a different meal and share. The War Won Ton soup and the Hot and Sour soups are something we order each and every time. The Honey Walnut Shrimp or Chicken are wonderful. The Egg Foo Young is super, as is the chicken Chow Mien. We have never had a bad meal. The food is fresh, and very well prepared. beware people who buy gift certificate from RESTAURANT.COM I went there with the gift certificate which i just bought but stunned at their door with huge writing WE DONT ACCEPT ONLINE GIFT CERTIFICATE. when i talked to the owner they said they never signed the contract with RESTAURANT.COM n the website just put their name in their listing illegally without contract. they have called the website to request removing their restaurant name from the website but never been attended until now. but i still dine in there without using the gift certificate. the food is delicious. we ordered duck roast which has very crispy skin yet the meat is still moisture n tender. kungpao chicken is not too spicy. yummy the free jasmine tea also match very good with the entree. read more
