Extremely disrespectful to customers . A man came in ahead of us and sat down at a table (mind you there is not one customer in the restaurant) The sign says please wait to be seated, so me and my friend stood waiting. They repeatedly kept telling the other guy he needed to wait to be seated and that he couldn't sit there. So the waiter sits us down, and the gentleman says he is ready to order, the waiter responds "since you didn't want to listen, you can wait until I'm ready to serve you" (again there were no other customers there just me, my friend, and that guy) the waiter goes and sits down and purposely does nothing and doesn't help him for another good 5-10 minutes. Seriously... all that to that poor man because he sat where he wanted in your empty restauraunt. You should be thankful he is giving your restaurant business. With all the restaurants in Napa Valley, there are suprisingly few Chinese restaurants to choose from and even fewer good ones. We've been fans of WahSing for over 25 years, usually doing take-out, and are amazed that so few people know about it. Tucked away in the Riverpark Shopping Center, this storefront restaurant has fairly basic decor, but is pleasant and bright and the prices are very reasonable. The food is what really shines -- almost all the dishes are loaded with fresh vegetables, which we enjoy, and have nicely prepared sauces. The approach is Mandarin, so even the spicy dishes are not too hot. We love the pot stickers, curry chicken, szechuan pork, empress choice prawns, sizzling beef and the war won ton soup. No MSG, not highly salted (probably why they have salt/pepper on the table) ;-) Give it a try! read more

Started off with potstickers that weren't fully cooked, too big and doughy, tasteless. The Moo-Shu pork was served with something more like a tortilla than a rice pancake. The crispy noodles with vegetables and beef was just OK. Nice people but the food was pathetic. read more

Love Wah Sing. My family and i have been coming here for years. Every time we are there we get the Wonton Soup and combination fried rice. Sooo good. We have tried other dishes and they didn't disappoint. The employees are very friendly and it's a very chill environment well except for when they're busy because they are a little understaffed up front. Ive never had any issues with Wah sing. Best Chinese food in Napa and the staff always makes you feel welcome. The honey walnut shrimp and chinese chicken salad are the perfect meal for two. The hot and sour soup cures just about any malady. My kids grew up with Wah SIng and they still make a stop there whenever they are in town. read more

Since we noticed the restaurant was not busy we motioned to move to another table and was told rather curtly and loudly that we could not sit there because table was for three and there were only two of us. We were offered another table that was again close to the big group. So we left and will never come back again. That server needs to be more friendly and accommodating. My boyfriend and I frequented here back in the 90s and it was good and cute then. I recently went there again with my mother. The food was really good (I had family bean curd and vegetarian egg rolls; she had sweet and sour shrimp) and the server kept my water glass full. This was the most tasteless Chinese meal I have ever had. It had no distinction of any flavor. I simply had Orange beef and pan fried dumplings. My first meal in Napa Valley. Honestly, one of the best American Chinese/Taiwanese food I had for a while in the U.S. My parents are close friends with the owners niece, so we had a lot of their recommended dishes. We had the walnut shrimp, crispy pork, steamed chicken, pork fried rice, stir fried noodles, stir fried asparagus, and steamed sea bass. They have decent portions for the price. I've been to Wah Sing three times. The first time was okay, the second was pretty good, the last (today) was so-so. I went with a friend and she had ordered the sweet and sour lunch special that included prawns, chicken and pork. She let me taste some of the prawns (she got an amazing number) and I really liked them, so I ordered this lunch as a take-out. When I got home however there were only two prawns. The rest was chicken and pork. I felt really gypped. Last time I order take-out from here and probably the last time I'll ever come here period. read more

I do not know how they pass inspection... I am not the first person to find hair in my food and if your a napa local I'm sure you've heard about the hair reputation as well... You know when something like hair is a common problem it makes me think what other things might be in my food that the human eye just can't see... Or even what the kitchen looks like. I've given this place a try several times part because of location part because I actually really wanted wanted to like them them so gave them benefit of the doubt (location is super convenient)... The food tastes like normal Chinese food so in my opinion taste is not the problem... But the amount of hair stories their are and the fact that the 2 out of 5 times I have been there over the past 3 years I myself have found hair just Can't be over looked. On a positive note I have never gotten food poisoning from their food ... So although definitely gross, I wouldn't consider "dangerous" just check your plate before you eat if your desperate it is the only Chinese restaurant in this side of town because honestly Panda Express does not count as a Chinese restaurant ... I have been dining at Wah Sing for several years, and have never gotten a bad meal. I find it almost unbelieveable that anyone familiar with asian cooking could complain. The food is stove-hot, correctly served, and very tasty. Spices are available for those of us who like it HOT. Otherwise, the menu is very clear as to what is mild and what is spicy hot. The Egg Drop soup is great, and the fried prawns are always fresh and tasty. My only complaint is the fact they use loose tea service, so I donated a bunch of stainless tea-balls, hehehe. wah sing is absolutely HORRIBLE! i was craving chinese food and of course i yelped for my choices. my first choice was actually closed so i ventured off to wah sing thinking its name isnt a generic "panda" or "garden" something that it may be more authentic. i was soooooo wrong... right when i walked in it was completely empty... and it smelled funky. that should have been the first clue. second, there was a spoon and fork on the table settings... no chopsticks. anyway, i was hungry... i wanted pan fried noodles (geen mein) with tomato beef... the waiter had no idea what i was talking about and told me they had chow fun. so i scratched that craving.... i honestly dont remember seeing wunton noodle soup otherwise i would have ordered it. i ended up ordering some drums of heaven chicky wings.... HORRIBLE!!! i love to eat and im not picky but i have NEVER EVER had anything that disgusting, it completely ruined my appetite. the drumsticks were suppose to be extremely spicy, however there was absolutely no taste. there was too much batter on the drumsticks, the gravy was thick and tasteless... actually if anything it was a little sour (not like sweet and sour.... but maybe it was spoiled sour). i ate one and a half pieces... i was sooo hungry i loaded on the white rice because i was afraid to order anything else! i honestly wanted to send my food back but i have never done that and i really didnt want to be rude. i have never been so disgusted with any meal.... the best part was the white rice and my coca cola classic.
