They don't always have a designated front counter person and the place is always mobbed because it's like the only Chinese restaurant in this area of Napa. I only gave an extra star for the good quality food. I ordered a small hot and sour soup which looked like a large. I tried to get our waiters attention which was very frustrating. He seemed to have seen me but ignored me for about 5 minutes. Then he said it was a small even though that size could feed three people. My friends' meal cane first, then my soup. By the time she was finished with her meal we had to wait for another 20 minutes for my chow fun. We were there for maybe an hour or more. Extremely poor service, and it wasn't even busy. read more

This place can be good but it seems it really depends on the day. I've had things that pass as good Americanized Chinese food or takeout but have also have had the opposite. Goodish cheap Chinese. I always go between the same few things when knead Chinese food. So, when I'm not super familiar with the spot, I always order the same thing. Chow mein. This time was no different. Veggie chow mein and pot stickers for me, and pork chow mein and won ton soup for him. Our go-to's. Called it in, food was ready in ten minutes. Pretty much the time it took me to drive across town. (One extra star for that.) Food wasn't great but wasn't horrible. Pot stickers were good. I used to enjoy the restaurant they had in Pittsburg, CA, but since moving to Napa, CA, I discovered that you HAVE to accept what they put in a lunch special. No ordering what you really want. I've written and deleted my review of this place now too many time to count because I want to be both real and respectful. I'm sure this place means well, and I'm guessing--like too many restaurants--this place was hard hit by the pandemic. That said, I was really looking forward to my first time here, finally made it, and was instantly deflated and regretting visiting. While the people were friendly, the place itself is rather run down and the food that I had was very apparently box-to-fryer for apps, and the entree was tragically listless. Ahh this place isn't that bad!!! I tried their food for the first time and the quality could be a bit better, I enjoyed the ambience too. The place is small and sort of quaint. They had a really big fish tank divider with a small entrance. I tried their crispy duck and some other entrees, but it's not the best of the best in regards to quality... The duck has a fishy aftertaste which is really weird and their egg soup was sorta weird... The servers are kind though and spoke some Tagalog apparently. I generally think if you want something chinese in Napa county I believe this place is a "go to" place just because why not lol.... read more

I never write bad reviews. Like ever. Being a server myself, I know how unfair it can be at times. People get swamped and mistakes happen. But I've had to come to this place at least half a dozen times and it really is remarkable how they managed to be rude across the board. Like every single employee. And somehow they manage to be slow no matter when you order from there. I've been hung up on, ignored and most frustrating of all, not allowed to do something as simple as paying for my to go order first to try and salvage at least a few minutes of the excruciating and inexplicable time I'm forced to wait It's one thing to be slow but to be rude and lack any service skills whatsoever is not okay They don't deserve your patronage. My son and I went there Saturday as I had highly recommended that Chinese food place. My Lunch Bunch group used to go there fairly regularly about 3 years ago. I was so disappointed in everything I was served except the t e a. The fried prawns were nowhere near like what I used to get c o a t i n g was hard to bite. Wah Sing Chinese Restaurant has an Old West storefront (think of the joss house up in Weaverville), complete with a laughing Hotei and a Chinese moon gate entry. It's improved over the years. They still have their homespun, handwritten signs for specials, but they've cleaned up considerably over the past decade. At lunch, they draw a healthy crowd. We normally order for pick up from this restaurant when we're in Napa. So last week we did and not sure if they have new owners or new chef but the usual food we order were not the same. We've always loved their hot & sour soup and chowmein but they were definitely not the same from previous experience. The only reason I gave a 3 star rating is because of the combination fried rice and shrimp with snow peas as well as the 15 min timeline of food being ready. Wow, I was amazed with Wah Sing. My boyfriend's parents' took us here and I have to say, one of the many Chinese restaurants I really enjoyed the food. Their potstickers were delicious. They were not doughy or too crunchy, but just steamed to (almost) mere perfection. And their service was attentive and all of the dishes we ordered were delicious - delicious - delicious. I now understand the semi-big groups that came here. Apparently this restaurant has been around for a long time and I didn't even know it existed. Well that being because I stay on the Trancas side of Napa. I would love to come here again the next time I'm craving some Chinese food in Napa. read more
