I stopped here because their food is pretty healthy and fresh as long as you don't go close to closing time. I ordered the salmon bowl for the first time. It came with salmon, rice, citrus slaw and aioli. The salmon was very good and so was the citrus slaw. The rice was ok. The aioli was super hot like horseradish or wasabi. When I asked the woman at the counter if aioli is supposed to be super hot (generally it's not) she said they changed up the recipe and confirmed it is very hot. I said it was inedible. She smiled and said she was sorry and went back to work. She did NOT offer another sauce, salsa, or soy sauce. Dumb, really dumb. Obviously if someone expresses dissatisfaction with one of the four items on a plate a remedy needs to be offered. read more

Always my Go To after a surf session at Newport, or just after the beach! Perfect spot always. Have been going here since it first opened in the late 1980s. I was super stoked a few years ago when they opened three locations in the bay area, but it later became such a BIG bummer that their three location attempts in the bay area failed (Cupertino, Sunnyvale and Palo Alto). I'm guessing that bay area folks just "don't get" the surf style tacos here...bummer. Great prices for fresh and healthy food that is an awesome environment for families and kids. Power Chopper Salad ... Ive lost 80 plus pounds since December, finding low calorie yet satisfying meals has become my life mission. I find myself at Wahoos at least 3 times a week. The power chopper salad is low calorie and packs a nice filling punch. Sometimes I add the fish from one taco, but many times the salad alone is all it takes to make a smooth hold over till dinner. All the Wahoos are pretty consistent including the parking lots. (oops) this one can get tight so prepare to spend an extra minute or two for a spot. Prices are good, the food is fresh and filling, the service is great and the environment is really casual and layed back. Think surf shack environment. I tried Wahoo's our for the first time last night! I ordered 2 tacos - one Cajun fish and one shrimp, both with the citrus slaw. I absolutely loved the shrimp one, the sauce on it was excellent, it was short of buttery and garlicy. The Cajun fish taco was good but not super exciting. It didn't have a lot of flavor or spice, I mostly tasted the citrus from the slaw. The black beans were excellent and the rice was very plain. Hallelujah this is so close to my work and home and they are everywhere! The service here is so fast, it's a perfect place to go to for a quick lunch or even togo pickups. For salads, I always get Kale Kai Salad with grilled Cajun Chicken breast with Organic Kale, Sliced Avocados, Mixed Greens, Tortilla Strips & Black Bean and Corn Salsa tossed with Fat Free Roasted Pepper Cilantro Dressing. If I haven't eaten all day, I get Kalua Pig Bowl, it is basically tender Carnitas Sautéed in Teriyaki Sauce over rice and beans! I got the paleo bowl with salmon and ono fish. The salmon was tender and yummy, but the ono was hard and texture was rough to eat. Slaw and cooked veggies were delicious though, and they are very generous with the avocado. Overall, it was an all right bowl, as nothing really stood out. A cute shack in orange county, the owners have turned a house into a restaurant. It's completely blew! Inside is filled with a bunch of Decour, the place is super clean and there are a lot of tables so I can imagine it gets pretty busy. I was working close by and decided to order some food for takeout. I got there within 10 minutes and the food was ready, fresh and tasted amazing! Wahoo's is a Newps and HB surf culture favorite. I received a couple Free Taco coupons from clients and hadn't been in a while so I decided to try these new Citrus Slaw Tacos. Ambience is just what you would expect, super lax and beach feel. You can enjoy a refreshing beer or three with your tacos, and seating is not a problem. My regular taco is just your typical carne asada taco for 2.79 you get what you pay for. The new citrus slaw taco on the other hand I would order again. The zesty slaw instead of regular lettuce is crisp and adds more flavor to what normally would be an average taco. I dig this place for the no frills, laid back and good vibe. Staff was super courteous and checked up on me. If I didn't have to go back to work I'd enjoy a few more tacos and some beers to wash it down for an even better time! read more

If you watch the type of people that come in to eat, they are mostly fit and very active in sports of all types. Some of the items I get are the fish tacos, Carnitas tacos (very tasty Carnitas), Banzai burrito, Maui bowl, Volcano bowl (spicy), chicken tortilla soup, and the Maui onion rings (not so healthy but very good) . Also look for the board when you walk in to see what their specials are and if you like fish see what fish they have fresh in that day. Each month they also feature a beer and it used to be only $1.00 now it's about $1.50 $1.75, still a good deal. It might take you a few times to get used to a healthy Mexican food but If you like healthy food, you should like Wahoo's Fish Tacos. read more

I came to this location after a day at the beach, arrived around 8pm, since they close at 9pm, I ordered my favorite Screaming Burrito, wet style with their green sauce, u can never go wrong with this, I am always satisfied whenever I order this amazing burrito, they are just that good!!!
