I went to four shaved ice places on my trip to Hawaii. The Wakiki Grass Shack had my favorite flavor of all of the flavors I tried. The blue vanilla was so good I kinda wish I had done the whole thing as blue vanilla but instead I split it with another flavor, pineapple. It was still good but the blue vanilla was literally sensational. It's a small location on the beach. The Apple Maps has the location incorrect so I almost didn't find it. It's located on the side of the street where the beach is. It was so nice to just be outside and cool off with a shaved ice. read more

I didn't try the food but I was happy with what I got. I got the pineapple drink no alcohol but it was refreshing. It was about 20 bucks. It had pineapple and ice cream and I asked for added condensed milk for an extra dollar. The young ladies at the counter were nice but a little distracted - talking about gossip about some guy calling her on the phone, I'm pretty sure there was no condensed milk or ice cream in it. I should hsve went back to clarify but I wanted to go back to my room and didn't feel like walking but since I didn't taste it until I was halfway to my hotel. This is a must visit cute hidden gem in Waikiki Beach. This is the perfect tropical treat while overlooking the ocean. This drink did not taste like the typical coconut drink that usually has a light texture. It had a thick texture which resembled an arroz con leche (rice pudding) texture with a subtle sweetness. The pineapple was fresh. Nonetheless it was good and refreshing! read more

Whether it's shaved ice or a loco mock, this place has it! Located next to world famous Waikiki Beach, it's a popular spot for tourists. I would have gave this place a 5 star if they served alcoholic beverages. A small shack that served non-alcoholic beverages, sandwiches/snacks location on the beach. Just a place to grab a quick simple bite if you got hungry while on the beach. Great place just to sit and relax. The pineapple drink I was having cost $15.00. read more

We have walked by this place so many times and never stopped. Glad we finally did! This was arguably the best poke we had on the island. Large rainbow shaved ice right on the beach. The ice is more crunchy than fine, and they only offer a snow cap and li-hing as toppings, but it's reasonably priced for how big it is ($5.95), and is so convenient to the beach. read more

My wife and I previously ate at the world famous shrimp truck Giovanni's and while the shrimp was yummy, we felt it wasn't worth the hype. After spending a day at the beach we decided to get some food quickly and settled on Waikiki Grass Shack since its conveniently located on the beach. We ordered the garlic shrimp and where amazed at how awesome it was. They are grilled and have an amazing garlic/grill fusion taste to it that was unexpected and memorable. Ordered poke and garlic shrimp. What do you expect from food at Waikiki beach? Shrimp: not fresh shrimp (shrimp is so soft to the point you know it has been defrost for sooooooo long). Garlic - overpowering the shrimp. Sauce: spicy mayo. For $11?14 that I paid for 5 medium size shrimp and cold fries? Not recommended Poke over rice? Absolutely bad. What a joke. Only one person works there; cannot even come close to keeping up with customers. Waited about 20 minutes, standing in line, for a burger (why? I dunno) only to finally get to the front of the queue only to be told, "sorry, sold out". WTF??? Why didn't the dude cross it off the food board? Oh, he was too busy slowly serving other customers. Talk about shitty service; this place has that aspect wrapped up. Since I'd already wasted 20 minutes (why???), I opted for a terrible kalua pork sandwich. That sammich was worthy of two stars but nothing more. DO NOT waste your time or money at this place. Keep walking and find good food/service elsewhere. Yeah I know, it's Waikiki where food, prices, and service all suck since it caters to one-time tourists. read more

If you're looking for the worst shave ice on the island, look no further. They charge almost $6 for shave ice, they can at least afford a new and better ice shaver. The one they have looks to have been created before Hawaii became a state. Come on, Grass Shack. It's time for an upgrade. If you're looking to have some real Hawaiian shave ice, this isn't the place for you. But if you just want a shave ice, drink in a coconut/pineapple photo by the water then this place will suffice. read more

Drinks look great, however they don't taste as great as they look. Island surfer is in a whole pineapple but it taste like all orange juice. The coconut dream taste like syrup, no coconut juice at all, very thick coconut syrup. Drinks are way overpriced for what it is, don't waste your time on these, too many other good spots in Waikiki to try. read more

Great location right on the beach which is very convenient to grab a quick bite while hangin at the beach and playing in the sand. We had the pulled pork sandwich and was really good. We also had the shave ice which was super big so sharing is easy. Recommend you give this place a try. Tell em Micheal from Seattle recommended you. Tried the Hawaiian steak sandwich and it looked better then it tasted. Not sure why they put kimchi on it and cold corn. Didn't know that was Hawaiian food. Lol Most likely the Kimchi was on it to mask out The flavorless steak that was more chewy Then a shoe sole. Comes with a bag of chips and I left disappointed and still hungry. I work at a nearby hotel and will not recommend the place to anyone that asks. read more

Great unique sandwiches in ideal spot on Waikiki beach. While not a kimchi fan, the steak sandwich with kimchi was amazing.
